The Patriot Post® · The Unseen Enemy to our Constitution and the Freedoms It Protects: Evil
Our endless battle to protect our freedoms from the political left has an unseen enemy I rarely hear discussed, even among my Christian brothers and sisters. The role of evil in the effort to bring down our nation and end any prospect of freedom anywhere on Earth is a force we need to acknowledge and deal with. To truly understand evil and its role on Earth, we must first start with the Bible.
In the Bible the chief architect of evil is Satan. In Revelation 12, we read where Satan and his angels “lost their place in heaven” and were “hurled to the earth”. It is Satan who “leads the whole world astray”. (verses 8 & 9)
In Ezekiel 28, we learn that Satan was “anointed as a guardian cherub” , “till wickedness was found in you”, “so I threw you to the earth”. (verses 14, 15 & 17).
So what does the Bible record about Satan’s earthly actions? In Genesis 3, God had created a paradise for man to live in with only one law to obey. But Satan tempted Eve to by questioning God’s Word and intentions for man. In Job 1 & 2, Satan torments Job for the purpose of getting Job to curse God. In Matthew 4, Mark 1 & Luke 4, Satan even tempts our Lord by again misrepresenting God’s Word. Our Lord rebukes Satan each time by applying scripture correctly.
You may well wonder what these Bible stories have to do with our problems today. A pastor who suffered under the Communists during coldest days of the cold war has identified such a connection. In 1986, Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, founder of the Voice of the Martyrs, published a small book titled, Marx & Satan, Living Sacrifice Book Company, Bartlesville, OK. Pastor Wurmbrand quotes original writings of the earliest leaders in the international communist movement, and some of these writings, when read with an understanding of the Bible, are quite eye opening.
In the early days of his life, Karl Marx professed Christianity. Marx’s first published work, The Union of the Faithful in Christ, includes the quote,
“Union with Christ could give an inner elevation, comfort in sorrow, calm trust, and a heart susceptible to human love, to everything noble and great, not for the sake of ambition and glory, but only for the sake of Christ.”
Later in life Marx rejected the Christian faith and began his rebellion against God. In the poem, Invocation of One in Despair, Marx wrote,
“So a god has snatched from me my all, In the curse and rack of destiny. All his worlds are gone beyond recall. Nothing but revenge is left to me.
"I shall build my throne high overhead, Cold, tremendous shall its summit be. For its bulwark – superstitious dread. For its marshal – blackest agony.
"Who looks on it with a healthy eye, Shall turn back, deathly pale and dumb, Clutched by blind and chill mortality, May his happiness prepare its tomb.”
In a later poem, Marx wrote,
Then I will be able to walk triumphantly, Like a god, through the ruins of their kingdom. Every word of mine is fire and action. My breast is equal to that of the Creator.“
Later Marx’s writings grow even darker. In the poem, The Player, Marx writes,
"The hellish vapors rise and fill the brain, Till I go mad and my heart is utterly changed. See this sword? The prince of darkness Sold it to me. For me he beats the time and gives the signs. Ever more boldly I play the dance of death.”
In the play, Oulanem, which is a rearrangement of the name Emmanuel in his native language, Marx wrote a plot in which the entire human race is consigned to damnation.
Marx’s anti-Christian writing can be summed up with the quote,
“I wish to avenge myself against the One who rules above.”
In a latter poem near the end of his life titled, The Pale Maiden, Marx writes,
“Thus heaven I’ve forfeited, I know it full well. My soul, once true to God, Is chosen for hell.”
Marx also surrounded himself with men who were self-declared Satanists. Among these were Mikhail Bakunin, Pierre-Joseph Proudhon, Heinrich Heine and of course Frederich Engels, all of whom produced anti-God and pro Satanists writings.
These types of writings were not just limited to Marx’s generation. In the following generation of communists, Russian revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin wrote in a letter,
“Millions of sins, mischiefs, oppressions, and physical epidemics, are more easily discovered by the people, and therefore less dangerous, than the thinnest idea of a spiritual little god, even if disguised in the most decorous garb.”
Lenin’s successor, Stalin, left behind writings along the same dark themes. A colleague referred to Stalin as “…not a man, but a devil."Other colleagues wrote of Stalin’s disgust with Christianity, even to the point of taking children from parents who were professed Christians. It has been reported from many sources that Stalin’s daughter, Sventalna, reported that on his deathbed, Stalin shook his fist at heaven in anger just before taking his last breath.
Two practices of the communist countries of the cold war era were to deify the leaders of the countries they led and to coerce Christians and Jews to commit a sin by denying God and thus lose their place in heaven in the afterlife. Pastor Wurmbrand was imprisoned and tortured by the communist Romanian government for 14 years for not endorsing the government during a nationwide radio broadcast. He could have ended his torture at any time if he would just reject Christ and endorse the state.
My brief synopsis of Pastor Wurmbrand’s well researched work does not do it justice. For those who developed an interest in the brief summary I provided, I urge you to get a copy of the book and read it for yourself. The book can be read in a weekend and be enlightening in regard to the evil that is in the world.
I gave examples from the Bible and from the early leaders of the international communist movement, but I have not given any examples in current events. For the sake of brevity, I’ll limit myself to a few observations from what is going on in the United States. We are currently being governed, some would say ruled, by a party that booed God at their last national convention. We have a president who was a follower of communist activist whose most famous book praised Lucifer as the first rebel in the forward. This same president requested that all Christian symbols at a Jesuit university be covered before he entered the room to speak. Like the media of the cold war era communist nations, we have a media that deifies our current president and ignores his sins, after 8 years of demonizing a professing Christian president and ignoring all his positive traits. We are coerced into sinning by being forced to accept evolution and deny an aspect of a God created universe. We are also being coerced into accepting, as normal, the deviant homosexual lifestyle and woe be the critic of any of these two subjects no matter how intellectual the criticism. The worst of these abominations is the current administration trying to force all citizens to finance the mortal sin of murder by paying for abortions through our insurance coverage in addition to the infanticide paid for by our tax dollars. Members of this deviant party are also using the power of government to crush all opposition and ignore the will of the people for the advancement of their ungodly agenda. Driving Christianity from the public forum has been going on since humanist members of the Supreme Court started handing down decisions in the 1950s & 60s that squelched the citizens’ First Amendment right to free expression of religion. Our current administration has put this practice on steroids. Publisher Mark Alexander was an early leader in the media to report that military chaplains were being prohibited from praying in Jesus name and that Air Force Academy has illegally removed, "so help me God.” from their oaths. It should be noted that only Christianity and Judaism are being persecuted by this party while they demand that other religions be tolerated. It seems this party is aware of the ultimate threat to their power.
I end this article with the same call I made in my earlier article, Prescription Against Dictatorship, I call upon this country to return to their Christian roots. This country was founded by Christian men and women after a great awakening a decade before our revolution. Living under Christian principles and the freedoms given us by God and not government, our nation grew into a power that had the greatness to defeat an evil Nazi regime and remain firm against the international communist movement to the point where some of their governments were toppled in the 1990s. But the international communists and those trying to destroy us domestically could not allow us to stay this powerful for very long. Their number one point of attack is to separate us from God and cause us to sin. Just take a look at what is in the entertainment media or the internet. This is why I again argue that our best offense against this evil is to be strong Christian citizens. Read your Bible and be able to defend it. Begin to evangelize, even in areas where you might think that the prospect of winning a convert is nonexistent. Never underestimate the power of God and power of a changed life through Christ. Our revolution was fought by men who worshipped God and we were blessed by God until we allowed our government to coerce our nation into forgetting about Him. The French revolution was fought by secularists. We all know how that turned out. Without God in our fight we are doomed to failure. So again, we should start another great awakening in our nation and open the eyes our fellow citizens to the saving grace of Jesus Christ through the scriptures so they may recognize the present evil that is currently at power in our government.
