Operation American Spring proposes a “Constitutional Emergency Protest” scheduled to begin Friday May 16, 2014, correct in principle, but to succeed, this protest must be scheduled on a date so as to “Either lock recessing Congress in, or lock incoming Congress out.”

Even a million or more SCHEDULED protestors while politicians are out of session or in recess is futile. Read the entire proposal at Constitutional Emergency signed by Harry Riley, COL, USA, Ret. The proposed “Concept of Operations” though noble and well-meaning, to be effective as proposed, might itself  lead to the wrong element empowered by the undertaking.

To be effective and constructive, the protest must be done under the visible government nose of Congress, White House, and Supreme Court, forcing professional incumbent politicians to see, hear, and feel the protest loud and clear.

Egypt had no scheduled protest to remove President Morsi as the dissident Egyptians rally grew and fed upon itself until it overwhelmed Morsi who was obligingly removed from office by the cooperating Military. A purely peaceful protest is wonderful and politically correct, therby rendering it incorrect and ineffective.

Friday, May 16, 2014 falls within the Jewish “Chabad” when Manna, “Bread From Heaven” which sustained the Children of Israel during their 40 years of wandering through the desert, began to fall on the 16th of Iyar of the year 2448 from creation, one month after the Exodus but significance of May 16, 2014 remains clouded.

There is little chance for success of this protest without full cooperation of the growing army of Obama washed-out high ranking Military Officers that might be inclined to join the fray. Without massive public support, the effort will be ignored by government and media, and printed below the fold on page 23 of major newspapers that will report yet another Conservative failure that exacerbates existing problems, and that in the fifth year of the Obama Presidency, remains the fault of former President G.W. Bush.

Benjamin Franklin wisely noted, “He that is good at making excuses is seldom good at anything else.”
