The Patriot Post® · A Patriot's Obligation

In 1776 We The People, represented by our forefathers, wrote America’s birth certificate, the Declaration of Independence, and forced its implementation. That document changed the status of our forefathers and all future generations from being subjects of the British Crown to being citizens of the United States. Our forefathers then gave birth to our republic with the U.S. Constitution, THE Law of the Land. We are a nation of laws, not a nation of men. It has served us well for over 200 years.

That Constitution then placed responsibility for adhering to it back onto those who gave it birth, We The People. By heritage, and by law, you and I are responsible for seeing to it that the U.S. Constitution is followed. We have that obligation no matter how difficult it may be. Our Founding Fathers had difficulty too. We cannot abrogate our responsibility. “Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.” (Thomas Paine.)

Prior to all of that, God gave us rights, “inalienable rights,” meaning they came from God and no man or government can take them away. God gave us an obligation to defend these rights. We cannot abrogate that obligation either.

However, our rights are being taken away by those we placed in positions of trust and responsibility over us by they’re not adhering to the Law of the Land, and disregarding our inalienable rights. We are allowing it to happen by inadequately defending ourselves from these people in our government. Too few of our citizenry are speaking out; too many waiting for someone else to do it. History is filled with examples of bad outcomes when the citizenry does nothing, and with examples of good outcomes when the citizenry rises up and restores legitimate government. “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” (Edmund Burke)

Today America is at a crossroads. We The People will either give in to a lawless tyranny from our current regime, or we will throw it off and restore our constitutional republic. And YOU have a role to play. Your task is to determine what that role is so as to best save our republic for future generations, and to honor the millions of lives sacrificed before us to give us this great country.  We all have that duty, that obligation.
