The Patriot Post® · Saying It Doesn't Make It So!
“How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg? Four. Calling a tail a leg doesn’t make it a leg.” –Abraham Lincoln
My home state of Nebraska has implemented a ridiculous teacher’s guidebook to make sure that school is a gender-neutral zone.
Now I understand not wanting anybody’s itty-bitty feelings getting hurt by those big, bad stereotypes, but guess what? Saying we are all purple penguins just does not make it so.
There are boys and there are girls.
Our very genetic makeup proclaims it.
The doctor does not say, “Congratulations, you have a purple penguin” at delivery, or if he/she did, we would be horrified.
There are boys and there are girls. That is a fact. No matter how hard I wanted to be a boy when I was four and the only girl on the block my age, I could not change the fact that I was a girl. But I could learn to hit a ball and climb a tree and keep up with the boys. Individuals can do whatever they desire with hard work and determination, but to pretend that there is no difference in gender endangers us all.
There are seemingly endless ways that our culture wants to slap God in the face and say, “You did it wrong!” The whole gender-neutrality issue is the latest.
There is nothing more wonderful than watching something just be what it was created to be. The animal kingdom seems to be great at just being. Bees buzz, hummingbirds hover, birds chirp. The male peacocks strut their feather fans and the females tend the nest in less conspicuous garb.
I do not know what strain of rebel lunacy is firing this line of thinking, but I hope we gain our senses before we confuse so many BOYS and GIRLS with our silliness.
May boys be boys and girls be girls. May they remember viva la difference and embrace it!
Genesis 5:1-2, The Message (MSG): “This is the family tree of the human race: When God created the human race, he made it godlike, with a nature akin to God. He created both male and female and blessed them, the whole human race.”
