I’m fed up with Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and those of their ilk who may not draw as much national attention. And I guess I just want to vent a little bit in that regard. I’m sure there have been other commentators who have written many articles similar to what I’m going to write, but I haven’t personally seen or read any of them. Sharpton and Jackson seem to think they have a stranglehold on white Americans inasmuch as they tend to try to intimidate white Americans in order to keep them from speaking up. Well, this old country boy is tired of it and I’m going to speak up.

The first thing I would like the readers to take note of is the fact that I did not refer to Messrs. Sharpton and Jackson as Reverend Sharpton and Reverend Jackson. I do that intentionally because they don’t deserve to wear that title. There is nothing reverent about them. The root word is “revere” and, according to Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary, copyright 1990, (I’m sorry I don’t have a newer one, but I doubt that this section has changed much, if any, in more recent publications) is: “to show devoted deferential honor to : regard as worthy of great honor…”. The dictionary goes on to say:

syn REVERE, REVERENCE, VENERATE, WORSHIP, ADORE mean to honor and admire profoundly and respectfully. REVERE stresses deference and tenderness of feeling … REVERENCE presupposes an intrinsic merit and inviolability of the one honored and a corresponding depth of feeling in the one honoring … VENERATE implies a holding as holy or sacrosanct because of character, association, or age … WORSHIP implies homage usu. expressed in words or ceremony … ADORE implies love and stresses the notion of an individual and personal attachment …”

Reverend means “worthy of reverence.” By definition, and perhaps for good reason, many people believe the word Reverend means “God like.” These two clowns, Sharpton and Jackson, are anything but that. All they do is stir up trouble and incite riots. They are professional race-baiters and are unworthy of the title they claim.

Now, having said all that let me get to the point(s) I want to make.

In recent days, we are learning more and more about the forensic evidence found relative to the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO, some time ago, and with each new piece of information it is beginning to appear more and more that the shooting of Brown by a police officer was justified. I’ll stop short of saying it was justified until such a conclusion is reached by the legal system. It’s just a shame that Sharpton didn’t have sense enough to maintain the same kind of discipline before jumping into the fray and inciting the riotous activity that has taken place in Ferguson. My fear is that the legal system may fail to act in a judicious manner out of fear of the potential for further rioting.

Sharpton has done this race-baiting so frequently over a period of so many years, from the Tawana Brawley fraud to the Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown incidents, as well as many others, that something needs to be done about this idiot. It is no wonder there is so much racial tension throughout America. It is clowns like this that instigate and exacerbate it. But instead of acknowledging the harm and hatred he is spreading throughout America by his actions, MSNBC gives the idiot a national platform from which to spew more of his nonsense. C'mon MSNBC, pull the plug on this menace to society.

In my previous and most recent commentary, I spoke of my belief that Congress needs to spend more time repealing and/or changing laws rather than continuing to write new ones. One of those I was referring to was the Hate Crime law. I suggested that it needed to be repealed; however, because of the current political climate, I doubt that that will happen any time soon. Therefore, I am going to now suggest that it at least be amended to include the charge of inciting riot, if it doesn’t already do so. I have to admit that I haven’t read the entire law. I’ve only observed how it has been executed up to this point in time. I firmly believe that Al Sharpton and/or Jesse Jackson should be brought up on charges of inciting riots, and that it be considered a hate crime, every time they engages in their race-baiting tactics that eventually lead to riots and destruction of property.

Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, et al, have every right to do their thing whenever there is a travesty of justice within the judicial system, but not before the incident in question has been processed through the court system. I listened to a couple of black preachers in St. Louis say on television a few nights ago, that even they will not be satisfied that the Michael Brown shooting was justified even if eye witness statements and forensic evidence demonstrates that to be true. That is idiotic. They suggested that if the Grand Jury fails to indict the police officer involved in the shooting, they will demand a jury trial. Obviously, they have little knowledge of how the court system operates. There can’t be a jury trial unless there is an indictment and the statements of those two clergymen suggest that they will take to the streets if there is no indictment, and they will no doubt led by Al Sharpton.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, along with many black parents, have fostered a mindset, especially within predominately black communities, that all whites are racists. They do it because that was what they have been taught. Admittedly, many of them have experienced white racism. I’ve also seen it with my own eyes and I know that it exists, but we will never begin to resolve the racial problems in America until the black community stops preaching the mantra that all whites are racists. For comparative purposes I would note that America has effectively and successfully put a muzzle on the white supremacy groups across America. Why can’t the same be done to these black inciters of racial hatred.
