Hussein Obama is managing to encourage and strengthen our enemies, while turning against our friends (if nations can be said to have friends). But our Mullah in Chief is not the first President to do this; America, unfortunately, has a long history of betraying allies and client states. In fact, any foreign leader who trusts America any more is a fool.

The CIA long ago overthrew the elected President of Iran and made the figure head King, Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi (10/26/1919-7/27/1980,) the actual head of state. For all of his flaws, greatly exaggerated by the media, the Shah pulled Iran into the twentieth century, protecting the rights of women and of minorities like the Christians, advancing education, and increasing prosperity. He kept a lid on the Shiite fundamentalists and actually recognized Israel. While not popular with the ayatollahs, he was fairly popular with Iranians who were only nominally Muslim or openly secular…and there were a lot of them. But Iraq and then France gave asylum to the fanatical Ayatollah Khomeini, and Jimmy Carter persuaded the Shah to give amnesty to the Islamists, freeing them to lead a rebellion against him. Carter’s Secretary of State, Cyrus Vance, claimed that Khomeini, with his hate-twisted face, was a “moderate.” Remember that a moderate Muslim is one who kills you but doesn’t eat you. Too late, the Shah found out that compromising with Islamists is a very, very bad idea. He was overthrown, and Khomeini and his followers and successors established a Shiite state that supports terrorism and threatens America and Israel with nuclear weapons. And this was but one of Jimmy Peanuts’ great achievements.

In WWII the Serbs in Yugoslavia supported the US and its allies, while the Croatians and the Bosnian Muslims supported Hitler. Arguing that the Serbian leader of Yugoslavia was a dictator (true enough…but no business of ours) and that the Serbs were committing genocide against the Croatians and Muslims (a claim that was almost completely false), President Clinton and the US in May of 1992 led NATO in an invasion, and we bombed our old friends, the Serbs, and aided our true enemies, the Muslims. Any rational observer, seeing this, might well conclude that America is a nation of fools led by evil madmen, but rational observers seem to be a rare thing in this world.

Saddam Hussein was Iraq’s brutal dictator, oppressing his people, ruling with an iron hand. But, under his rule, Christians were not persecuted; women had more rights than at any time before or since; and Iraq had a first rate public health system and educational system. Sunni Iraq provided an excellent counter to Shiite Iran, and during Hussein’s war with the ayatollahs President Reagan sent him satellite photos and technology that ultimately helped him manufacture chemical weapons. Bear in mind that, for all his faults, Hussein had never supported international terrorism and there has never been any evidence that he was developing nuclear weapons. He had a quarrel with Kuwait over loans and over oil rights, and, while the US hardly encouraged his invasion of that country, we also told him that if he did, we would not become involved. This was a lie that led directly to his invasion of Kuwait in February, 1991, whereupon we pretended that he menaced our “friends” the Saudis (who have supported international terrorism all along) and launched the First Gulf War. Not satisfied with this, we launched the Second Gulf War on 2/24/2003, invading Iraq and becoming bogged down in a prolonged and costly guerrilla conflict that killed or maimed thousands of Americans and increased our already disastrous national debt. And what has all this accomplished? The Iraqis have died by the thousands and suffered more than under Hussein; we put in place a Shiite government friendly to Iran; and now ISIS controls a large part of Iraq.

Muammar Gaddafi (1942-10/20/11) was the anti-Western ruler of Libya, and he supported terrorism. Yet, after Reagan bombed Libya, Gaddafi was cowed into ending his support for terrorism, and ceased to be a threat to the US and our allies. He brought relative freedom and real prosperity to the Libyan people. But in 2011 Hussein Obama had the US bomb Libya and support Islamists; Libya is now a failed state and a base for terrorists. Many believe that Hussein and Hillary were sending arms to Islamists in Syria, the people who soon became ISIS, and that they let our Ambassador to Libya be murdered because he knew too much for his own good.

The overthrow of Gaddafi in Libya was only part of Hussein Obama’s support for the so-called “Arab Spring.” Hussein also supported the Islamists in Egypt who voted Hosni Mubarak out of office, replacing him with the radical Islamist Mohamed Morsi. For all his faults, Mubarak had kept the peace with Israel and never supported terrorism. But our Mad Mullah’s plans were foiled when the Egyptian military, actually controlled by sane human beings, overthrew Morsi and replaced him with Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, a man who has spoken out boldly and truthfully about Islamic extremism. He has, arguably, done far more than our would-be king to combat terrorism.

But our oldest ally in the Middle East has always been Israel, and Hussein Obama is pressuring them to accept a suicidal “two state solution” to their conflict with the so-called “Palestinians.” He has made no secret of his contempt for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, and is now meddling with the upcoming Israeli election, trying to replace Netanyahu with a “moderate,” meaning a traitor who can be counted on to destroy the Jewish state.

A nation that supports its worst enemies and betrays its allies is a nation that will soon be isolated in a hostile world.
