In Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass, Alice (the same girl who had visited Wonderland) goes through a mirror into yet another world, a world where many things are inverted, with the natural order overturned. Increasingly, it seems as if our entire planet today is morphing into such a world. Normal human values are being perverted so that right is now deemed wrong, and wrong considered right. As the Bible foretold, people call good evil and evil good.

The same pious liberals who hold candlelight vigils when some adorable serial killer (usually after a decade or so of appeals and stays of execution) is finally sent out of this world actively support limitless abortion, taxpayer-funded abortion, and late term and partial birth abortion. Many (like the impostor in the White House) are in favor of letting babies die if they are born alive during a botched abortion. Spare (or even free) murderers, but kill helpless, innocent babies. On 7/2/13 in Austin, Texas, pro-abortion activists, most of them stylishly tattooed and pierced, their faces contorted by hate, chanted “Hail Satan” repeatedly. We are told that this was just a harmless joke to mock Christian opponents of abortion, but then we are also assured that when Saul Alinsky devoted one of his books to “Lucifer,” that, too, was but a harmless jest. The murder of 55 million of the unborn is not harmless. It more closely resembles a massive human sacrifice to absolute evil. Yet this is now hailed by our betters as a good thing. Profiteering abortionists, risking nothing, are hailed as “heroes” and peaceful protesters against abortion are labeled “dangerous extremists.”

Nominal Christians are still in the majority here in our former Republic, and many of them are sincere and practice what they preach. But, incrementally, Unholywood, the government, and the controlled media have demonized them, so that they are now portrayed as “bitter clingers,” as intolerant, bigoted hypocrites. At the same time, Muslims, who commit most of the terrorist acts and acts of genocide in the world, have gone from being rightly suspected to being tolerated, to being praised and even elevated over Jews and Christians. Our President Hussein, so quick to criticize Christians, so eager to attack Israel, cannot bring himself to say a word against the religion of his alleged father and his stepfather. Hillary Clinton’s aide (and, many suspect, much more than that) is Muslim Huma Abedin. To help the foxes guard the henhouse, President Hussein appointed Muslim Arif Alikhan as Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Policy Development, and, in 6/22/09, Kareem Shara (born in Syria) was given a position on the Homeland Security Advisory Council. Other Muslims often visiting the White House are Mohammed Albiery, Rashad Hussain, Salem al-Marayatl, the Imam Mohamed Magid, and Eboo Patel. And Hussein has brought tens of thousands of Muslim “refugees” into the U.S., and has plans to bring in thousands more. Yet he is not giving sanctuary to the persecuted Christians of the Middle East.

And, no surprise, Christians are beginning to be actively persecuted here as well. Lance Corporal Monita Sterling was recently court-martialed, reduced in rank to private, and given a dishonorable discharge by the USMC for refusing to remove from her work station a slightly altered Biblical quotation that doesn’t mention Jesus or even God. Certainly, the Corps has the right (and the duty) to punish those who disobey lawful orders, but why was the order given in the first place? Militant atheists, numerous and well-funded, demanded that General Craig Olson be court-martialed for speaking of God and Christ to the National Day of Prayer Task Force. A high school principal was fired for praying with students at a voluntary Christian meeting. A Florida teacher was not fired after mocking a twelve year old student for the “offense” of reading the Bible on his officially sanctioned free reading time. Such stories have become an everyday thing. When President Hussein gave a talk at Georgetown University (allegedly a Christian school) he required that the school cover all the Christian symbols in the room before he entered. This is like a bad movie…if someone held up a cross to Hussein’s face, would he cringe and cover himself with his cloak like Dracula? If someone threw holy water on him, would he scream in pain and smoke?

Meanwhile, welfare benefits are steadily expanded, while small businessmen who produce jobs are increasingly taxed and regulated out of existence. Illegal aliens, many of them guilty of more serious crimes, get in state tuition at universities (denied to Americans from other states), and are welcomed by “sanctuary cities.” There are special welfare benefits for them. Rioters in Baltimore were allowed to loot and destroy, and few were prosecuted, but six police officers were indicted for crimes they almost certainly did not commit.

Alice is nowhere in sight, and the sane and normal world on the other side of the looking glass is but a distant memory. The world has effectively become a vast asylum for the retarded, ruled over by the criminally insane.
