The neo-Marxist left does not like America. As I have noted before, you don’t “fundamentally transform” something you love. The things you love you want to preserve and protect.
I was reminded about this as we begin Thanksgiving week. President Joe Biden hasn’t issued his Thanksgiving proclamation yet, but no matter what he says this year, he can’t make up for last year’s proclamation, which was full of lies.
Biden became only the second president in our history to issue a Thanksgiving proclamation that did not mention God. But to completely avoid God, Biden had to lie about our history.
He said the Pilgrims held the first Thanksgiving “in honor” of the harvest and to thank the local Indians “who made it possible.”
Biden mentioned that George Washington and his troops celebrated Thanksgiving at Valley Forge. But he failed to mention Washington on his knees there praying to God for deliverance at Valley Forge.
Biden claimed that Abraham Lincoln set a day of Thanksgiving to honor the blessings we have from America. But our blessings come from God, and one of those blessings is America.
You’ve probably guessed by now that the other president who issued a Thanksgiving proclamation without mentioning God was Barack Obama. Of course, Joe Biden was his vice president.
When a president like Biden or Obama denies our religious heritage, they are erasing our history, and they are inviting God to remove His hand of protection from our nation.
Our Real History
Despite Biden’s revisionist history, Thanksgiving always had a Christian origin. It was always a day for thanking the God of the Bible. Let me remind you of the history I hope you all know.
In his first inaugural address, President George Washington dedicated the country to the God of the Bible.
Abraham Lincoln thanked God in the middle of a civil war in which 700,000 Americans would be killed. His 1863 Thanksgiving proclamation directly referred to God at least six times.
Ronald Reagan’s Thanksgiving proclamations were incredible, especially his 1988 Thanksgiving address. Reagan closed his address with this line directly thanking God, “Yes, as we gather together this Thanksgiving to ask the Lord’s blessings … let us thank Him for our peace, prosperity, and freedom.”
Donald Trump’s Thanksgiving proclamations were what you would expect for a Christian people by a president who is a growing Christian. I hope he issues one this year, even though he is not president. I know it would be better than Biden’s.
Trump’s Honeymoon
Donald Trump didn’t get much, if any, of a honeymoon when he was elected in 2016. Nineteen minutes after his inauguration, the Washington Post ran this story: “The Campaign To Impeach President Trump Has Begun.”
Of course, the left-wing media won’t give Trump any breaks this time either, but the American people are clearly happy. A new CBS News poll finds that:
- 54% of Americans are satisfied with Trump’s election.
- 59% approve of his handling of the transition.
- 57% approve of his plan to deport illegal aliens.
Listening to the left-wing media, and even some commentators at Fox News and the Wall Street Journal, you would think that Trump’s transition process is just terrible. Once again, they are totally out of step with the American people.
They don’t understand how or why Trump won again, and they see the transition as “proof” that Donald Trump is chaotic and problematic. The truth is the exact opposite.
Trump is bringing the country together. He’s appointing exactly the kind of people his voters expected him to. The editors of the Wall Street Journal and those few Fox commentators who take their cues from the Journal can take a hike!
If they had their way, the GOP nominee would have been a “mainstream” Republican, like Nikki Haley, and she would have brought in a totally predictable cabinet full of establishment careerists.
They would not do one thing that needs to be done or challenge what needs to be challenged to drain the Swamp and defeat the Deep State.
When Trump announced JD Vance as his running mate, the professional pundits suggested it was a horrible pick. They said Trump should have chosen Haley to unite the party and get her voters. Then, came the huge “cat lady controversy,” which allegedly proved what a “weirdo” Vance was.
When Harris announced Tim Walz as her running mate, the media praised him as a down-to-earth Midwestern gun-owner and hunter who would make Harris competitive in the Midwest.
By the time the American people evaluated both vice presidential picks, they realized Vance was perfectly normal and Walz was the weirdo for putting tampons in boys’ bathrooms.
The Left’s Targets
There are three Trump nominees the left desperately wants to stop, and they’re not being shy about it. Meanwhile, the establish Republicans who want to stop them are being coy. They are Tulsi Gabbard, Pete Hegseth, and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
Robert Kennedy, Jr., is a game changer. He is a scion of one of the most famous Democrat families in America — the Kennedys. He is an adamant supporter of free speech. He is also dedicated to reforming our healthcare system, which is one of the most expensive in the world and yet lags in positive outcomes.
Tulsi Gabbard serves our nation as a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve. She served in Iraq. She has seen the dead and dying. She wants America to be more discerning about when we go to war. When we do go to war, she wants us to win.
Gabbard is an articulate woman who could have a great future potential. But like Donald Trump, Gabbard was smeared as a “Russian asset” by Hillary Clinton. She was also briefly put on the “no-fly” list. She represents a mortal danger to the left.
Pete Hegseth is young and articulate. He served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is 100% committed to cleaning house at the Pentagon. He even wrote a book about it.
There is a report today that Donald Trump intends to give medical discharges to transgender members of the military. According to the media, this would mean 15,000 active-duty military personnel being discharged.
Seriously? There are 15,000 people confused about their gender serving in the U.S. military?!
The Pentagon has failed its annual audit for seven years in a row. It cannot account for $2.5 trillion of assets. They know the exact number of transgender troops but can’t account for trillions of your tax dollars. That seems completely backward to me.
Here’s an interesting question: Will even one Senate Democrat say, “I may not like this person, but the president gets to pick the people he wants on his team”? That has been the Democrats’ mantra every time they win and establishment Republicans go along with it.
Nineteen Senate Republicans voted to confirm Merrick Garland as attorney general. Three Republicans voted to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, even though she couldn’t say what a “woman” is. And two Republicans voted to confirm “Rachel” Levine, a man who claims he is a woman.
The Trump Effect
Donald Trump isn’t president yet, but he is already having a positive impact on government actions.
We’ve reported in the past about the Biden/Harris administration’s aggressive prosecutions of pro-life activists under the 1994 Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. These prosecutions were clear evidence of how the Biden/Harris administration weaponized the Justice Department against their political opponents.
Thankfully, at least one federal judge recognizes this gross abuse of power.
Judge Matthew Leitman (an Obama appointee) is presiding over several FACE Act cases in Michigan. Last week, he ordered Justice Department attorneys to back off until they can consult with new Justice Department leadership from the incoming Trump/Vance administration.
Judge Leitman also suspended any further proceedings in these FACE Act cases until March, by which time the Department of Justice will be under new management.
In related news, Special Counsel Jack Smith formally surrendered yesterday. He asked Judge Tanya Chutkan to dismiss all charges against Donald Trump related to the events of January 6th and he also moved to end the classified documents case.
