Would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh was sentenced to life in prison yesterday. Thank God the judge did the right thing. It’s cause for celebration!
 
You’ll recall that Routh was arrested after Secret Service agents spotted him hiding in the bushes just outside of President Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
 
I continue to believe that there is some bizarre Ukraine connection to Routh and his attempt on President Trump’s life. All during his trial, he argued that it was Trump’s domestic policies and his policies on Ukraine that drove him to such anger.
 
Of course, Ryan Routh is responsible for his own actions. But he is also a product of the nonstop demonization of Donald Trump and his supporters. Even now, leading politicians are still using such demonizing rhetoric against the president, his cabinet, and his supporters that suggests those people ought to be killed. (See below.)
 
 
 
Terrorist Parents
 
The school board in Loudoun County, Virginia, is making headlines once again. The reason I bring this up is not because America will rise or fall in Loudoun County, Virginia. It’s far more likely that America will rise or fall based on what happens roughly 40 miles away in Washington, D.C., depending on the outcome of elections this year and in 2028.
 
But, once again, the Loudoun County School Board is providing a helpful display of what the Left will do when they get power.
 
Members of the school board recently decided to hold a security training session. So, they hired 30 actors to play various parts in a mock terrorist attack. Were these “terrorists” radical Islamists? No. Were they practicing for a “lone-wolf” attack like those against Christian schools in Minneapolis or Nashville? No.
 
The “terrorists” in this scenario were actors playing parents at a school board meeting. The actors then suddenly act violent and “attack” the members of the school board. This was a “drill.”
 
Yet again, the Left’s worldview is on full display. The “enemy” is not gang members or drug pushers. It’s parents. Just like the “enemy” is not criminal illegal aliens, but American citizens and law enforcement.
 
One of the actors played a parent named “Mr. Smith.” Don’t forget that Scott Smith got dragged out of a Loudoun County school board meeting by police in 2021 because he was really angry and started yelling. I remember that even some conservative commentators at the time said, “That’s not the image we want to present.”
 
Scott Smith was angry because his daughter had been sexually assaulted in the girls’ bathroom by a boy claiming to be a girl, and the Loudoun County school board covered up his daughter’s assault. He had every right to be angry!
 
When all this erupted into the open, Democrats controlled the federal government. And what did they do? Working with leftists at the National School Board Association, the Biden White House set up a system to intimidate parents all over the country by accusing them of being “domestic terrorists.”
 
The FBI set up a hotline for people to report their neighbors and spied on parents who attended school board meetings. It worked. There was a massive drop in the number of parents around the country who were willing to go to school board meetings to speak out against the Left’s radical agenda.
 
 
 
Maine Parents Fight Back
 
While the state of Maine has moved to the left, a solid majority of residents do not want boys in girls’ sports. They have petitioned their elected representatives, but Governor Janet Mills and other so-called “progressive” officials have blocked every effort to address the issue.
 
That’s the definition of “progressive” today—not caring about a woman’s right to privacy unless you’re urging her to abort her baby. Of course, another definition of “progressive” is believing the lie that men can get pregnant.
 
This week, Maine Girl Dads, a grassroots citizen-led organization, submitted 82,000 signatures—14,000 more than necessary—to put a referendum on the November ballot to protect girls’ sports from boys claiming to be girls. This makes Maine the first state to put the issue of boys in girls’ sports on the ballot for the people to decide.
 
Other states, even where the legislature has already passed laws protecting girls’ sports, should follow the lead of Maine Girl Dads and put constitutional amendments on their state ballots to protect girls’ sports and to protect children from mutilating transgender surgeries.
 
Not only would the amendments pass overwhelmingly, but it would be a teachable moment for voters as candidates up and down the ballot are forced to publicly state their positions on boys cheating in girls’ sports and child mutilation.
 
 
 
The Maine Battleground
 
As I saw this news, I couldn’t help but remember a confrontation between President Trump and Gov. Mills over this very issue. The president was speaking to a meeting of the nation’s governors, and he specifically called Mills out, telling her that his administration would enforce Title IX as it was intended to protect girls’ sports.
 
When Trump told Mills to follow federal law, Mills replied, “See you in court.” Trump shot back, “Good, I’ll see you in court. I look forward to that. That should be a real easy one.”
 
Governor Mills is now running for the Senate against Republican incumbent Susan Collins. I know Collins can be infuriating at times, but I don’t see any evidence that an actual conservative senator could be elected in Maine.
 
By the way, Gov. Mills is currently losing the Democrat primary. But don’t think that’s evidence of common sense returning to Maine. The guy she’s losing to is a far-left socialist with a Nazi tattoo who has called police “bastards” and rural Americans “stupid.”
 
 
 
Speaking Of Stupid…
 
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) went on an unhinged tirade Tuesday against federal immigration police. During a House Judiciary Committee hearing, Nadler said something incredibly stupid:
 
“The major problem in this country today is the fascism in our streets. The attacks on American citizens by masked hoodlums. If you were attacked by a masked person, you might think you were being kidnapped. You’d be justified in shooting the person—to protect yourself.”
 
It’s bad enough that Nadler referred to federal law enforcement officers as “fascists.” But to then suggest that people might be “justified in shooting” them is unconscionable!
 
Vice President J.D. Vance reacted strongly to Nadler’s outrageous remarks. In a social media post, Vance declared:
 
“Jerry Nadler is one of the highest-ranking Democrats in the House of Representatives, and he is openly calling for people to shoot federal law enforcement. This is despicable behavior from an elected official, and I’m sure the left-wing media will cover it extensively.”
 
Of course, Vance was being sarcastic about the media exposing Nadler’s reprehensible remarks.
 
But what Nadler said is not out of character for today’s Democrat Party. This is the way the Left looks at law enforcement. They try to hide it, but once they take over a city, they impose woke leadership that advances LGBTQ activists up the ranks.
 
Democrats don’t like the police. That’s why they tried to defund them. That’s why they’re trying to defund federal immigration police now.
 
That’s why Joe Biden smeared law enforcement as “systemically racist.” That’s why Biden and Harris smeared Border Patrol agents as “racists.” That’s why Democrats immediately side with the criminal in any conflict with the police. There’s nothing unusual about this.
 
 
 
The Inmates Are Running The Asylum
 
It’s not uncommon in police work for law enforcement officers to set up checkpoints looking for drunk drivers, to ensure vehicles are properly registered, or to ensure that drivers are licensed. When federal immigration police use checkpoints, the Left compares them to Nazis “demanding papers.”
 
Well, without a hint of irony, Marxist revolutionaries in Minneapolis have started setting up their own checkpoints. They are “demanding papers” from individuals attempting to drive through certain communities to make sure they are not federal agents. They are recording license plates and beating up journalists who attempt to document their activities.
 
These people are not police! They’re just Marxists stopping people on the street and demanding their papers.
 
Now with Jerry Nadler in mind, if I’m driving along and a bunch of radical leftists start running toward my car, yelling, “Stop!” I’m inclined to hit the gas and keep going.
 
 
 
Maye’s Marriage Advice
 
Spend a few minutes with New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, and it will soon become clear that he is a follower of Jesus Christ. Here’s what he said when asked what advice he would give to his teammates as they prepare for the Super Bowl:
 
“I definitely would advise them to eventually get married. It’s one of the best things in life. It’s one of the best things I’ve experienced in my life. There’s no better feeling than coming home to a wife that loves you and cares for you and worries about your best interests… I chose to get married young, and I don’t regret it one bit.”
 
I love missionary programs and the heartfelt desire of those willing to go to foreign lands to spread the Gospel. I have donated to many overseas missionary programs. But I think we can all agree that America, which has sent more missionaries around the world than any other country, is in desperate need of missionaries itself.
 
And you can’t be a better missionary than to be a follower of Jesus Christ in the public eye, overcoming difficulties and succeeding in life, with the ability to confidently explain your faith. You can’t buy that kind of missionary work.
