The Patriot Post® · Redistricting Wars
The Supreme Court handed Democrats a significant defeat yesterday in the ongoing redistricting wars. In a 6 to 3 decision, the justices ruled that Louisiana’s court-ordered congressional map, which created a second majority-minority district, was an unconstitutional racial gerrymander not required under Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.
Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act was intended to prohibit blatant racial discrimination in the redistricting process. But, like many well-intentioned laws, it has been radically redefined by leftist judges and implemented in ways that never were intended.
Writing for the court’s majority, Justice Samuel Alito declared:
“Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was designed to enforce the Constitution—not collide with it. Unfortunately, lower courts have sometimes applied this Court’s §2 precedents in a way that forces states to engage in the very race-based discrimination that the Constitution forbids.”
Wednesday’s opinion significantly raises the bar for lower courts to require the creation of majority-minority districts. Some analysts believe the court’s opinion could shift as many as 12 House seats to the GOP. It is not clear, however, if any of those shifts will take place before this November.
In related news, the Florida legislature approved a new congressional map Wednesday afternoon that could potentially result in Republicans picking up four more House seats.
The Post Smears The Bible
A front-page headline in yesterday’s Washington Post declared that wannabe assassin Cole Allen’s manifesto “Appears To Use Bible To Justify Attack.” I read the manifesto. It does no such thing. The fact that the Washington Post would libel Christianity on its front page with that headline is disgusting!
While Allen did come from a religious family and was active in campus ministries at Caltech, he had become more and more radical and more anti-Christian in recent years. (See next item.) Every paragraph of his manifesto is dripping with justifications for his attempted assassination of Trump, not from the Bible but from the Democrat Party.
Here’s just one example. Allen claimed he was fighting the “oppression” of the Trump administration and specifically cited “the fisherman executed without trial.” He clearly bought into the left-wing narrative. The “fishermen” he’s referring to are the Venezuelan drug runners President Trump is preventing from reaching our shores and poisoning our people.
This Washington Post article is not journalism. It’s propaganda. Before the week is over, some media talking heads will be suggesting Allen is a “Christian nationalist.”
Allen’s Radicalism
If the Washington Post were interested in doing some real journalism and learning what really motivated Allen, they would look into his association with the far-left group “Wide Awakes.”
The group traces its origins to an abolitionist organization in the 1850s that opposed slavery and wanted it abolished immediately. They provided security for abolitionist politicians and harassed pro-slavery politicians, often “showing up at their homes and banging pots and pans” and turning their lives into “waking nightmares.” When the Civil War erupted, its members rushed to join the Union Army.
Today, Wide Awakes is not involved in a noble cause like ending slavery. It is connected with the Soros-funded, revolutionary Sunrise Movement, which engages in hostile tactics to harass conservatives. One of their campaigns involved left-wing activists occupying Hilton hotels whenever they thought federal immigration police were staying at the hotels.
They would also protest loudly all night outside the hotels so federal immigration police officers could not sleep because they were “wide awake.”
Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but the White House Correspondents’ Dinner—where Allen tried to assassinate President Trump—was held at the Washington Hilton.
But, of course, the Washington Post doesn’t want you to know about Allen’s connection to the Left. They want you to think he was inspired by the Bible.
Mixed Messages & Double Standards
When it comes to the Bible, all we get from Big Media and the Left are slanders and double standards. Big Media ignored last week’s historic reading of the Bible that President Trump, Speaker Mike Johnson and dozens of Christian leaders participated in at the Museum of the Bible.
But if an abortion-loving Democrat says the Bible justifies taking the life of an innocent pre-born baby or if a pastor says abortion is an “act of love,” the media will quote these so-called “Christian leaders” because it undercuts traditional, Judeo-Christian values.
Meanwhile, if you love America and love Jesus, they try to convince the public that you’re a “dangerous Christian nationalist” and a threat to the country. Our Founding Fathers believed our rights come from God. Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) says that is an “extremely troubling” idea.
Leftists insist the Bible is just a bunch of made-up fairy tales. But they fight like Hades to keep the Bible out of public schools while bringing gay propaganda in.
If they ever get to the point where they actually believe the Bible supports abortion on demand and 52 genders, they would probably cooperate with us and bring Bible reading back to the public schools. But they don’t believe that, which is why they go crazy when we try to post the Ten Commandments in schools.
There are all kinds of verses in the Koran about “killing the infidel” and a Muslim’s obligation to lie to infidels. There are all kinds of bizarre beliefs held by radical Shiite mullahs of Iran. The media never ever quotes any of that.
A month does not go by without some radical Islamist yelling, “Allahu Akbar!” before he kills someone. And no Washington Post headline will ever say, “Jihadist Used Koran To Justify Attack.” In fact, Big Media will go out of their way to tell us that jihadist violence has nothing to do with Islam because Islam is a “religion of peace.”
They will tell us that most Muslims are not terrorists. That’s true. Most Germans were not Nazis. But all Nazis were Germans. And virtually all terrorists are Islamists.
So, as the Left gives the Koran a free pass, it wants to link the Bible to dangerous, radical behavior while at the same time redefining it to promote Marxism and transgenderism.
Minnesota Chutzpah
Tuesday, the FBI raided Minneapolis’s infamous “Quality Learing Center” and 20 other Somali daycare centers looking for any evidence of actual children being cared for. Gov. Tim Walz hailed the action, saying:
“Today’s raids by state and federal law enforcement happened because our state agencies caught irregular behavior and reported it. That’s how the system is supposed to work, and our agencies will keep at it as long as there are fraudsters around to put behind bars.”
FBI Director Kash Patel wasn’t having it. He set the record straight, writing:
“Come again? This FBI and DOJ with our DHS partners drafted and executed every search warrant today. But go ahead and take credit for our work while we smoke out the fraud plaguing Minnesota under your governorship.”
Walz is right about one thing—Minnesota state workers did discover the fraud. But he covered it up and then fought the Trump administration every step of the way. Now, he’s taking credit for catching the fraudsters.
Democrats are bold if nothing else! And they count on an electorate whose only sources of news are left-wing outlets, like the Washington Post, that just spout Democrat propaganda.
Surging Confidence
In other propaganda news, every day Democrats and the media are telling us that we’re on the verge of an economic collapse, college graduates can’t find jobs and young Americans are locked out of the American Dream because President Trump is doing everything wrong.
Well, the latest consumer confidence figures were released Tuesday, and confidence went up, not down, reaching the highest level all year. The “labor market differential,” which measures how easily people are finding jobs, also went up. And the most optimistic demographic is—drumroll—Americans under 35.
“Two Kings”
Left-wing heads were exploding Tuesday as “King Donald” welcomed a real monarch, King Charles III (and Queen Camilla), to the White House. The king and queen obviously like the Trumps, and the Trumps obviously like them.
The royal couple had tea at the White House, toured the gardens, including the White House bee hive, and attended a formal state dinner in the evening. There wasn’t an awkward moment the entire time.
Referring to the president’s efforts to remodel the White House, King Charles joked that the British tried their “own small attempt at real estate redevelopment of the White House in 1814” when they burned it during the War of 1812. The king finished his remarks with another joke, saying the state dinner was “a considerable improvement on the Boston Tea Party.”
King Charles also presented President Trump a gift—a bell from a British Navy submarine that served in World War II named HMS Trump. The king said:
“I am delighted to present to you as a personal gift, the original bell which hung on the conning tower of your valiant namesake. May it stand as a testament to our nation’s shared history and shining future. Should you ever need to get hold of us, just give us a ring!”
