Two teen-aged boys attacked an Islamic center/mosque in San Diego on Monday. Three people were killed. The two boys fled and reportedly committed suicide not far from the site of the attack. Authorities are suggesting this was a hate-motivated crime.

All violence targeting houses of worship is wrong and a violation of our values. This attack on an Islamic center is very rare compared to the attacks that are happening routinely against Christian churches and Jewish synagogues.

I was looking at the hate crime statistics in New York City for the month of April. There were 30 violent antisemitic attacks on Jews. There were no anti-Muslim attacks. Islamophobia is very rare. Plus, it’s misnamed. A phobia is when you are irrationally afraid of something. But I digress.

Every attack on religious institutions must be condemned, and I do condemn the attack on the San Diego Islamic center. It is amazing that there isn’t more of this considering we are at war with radical Islamists in Iran, who are attempting to bring down the entire world economy by blocking a critical trade route.

Here’s an irony: When radical Islamists poured out of Gaza on October 7, 2023, murdered 1,200 innocent Israelis and desecrated their bodies, hate crimes exploded in America and all over the world—against Jews! The Biden Justice Department reported that 68% of religiously motivated hate crimes in 2023 were committed against Jews, while just 9% were committed against Muslims.

Churches and synagogues in America are usually good neighbors. They work with the local community. This Islamic center had a troubled and hostile relationship with its neighbors.

It was the place of worship for two of the 9/11 hijackers while they were training for the attack they would launch against the United States. The Islamic center’s current imam defended the atrocities committed by Hamas on October 7th. And speaking of 9/11, the former imam of another San Diego mosque was a notorious Al Qaeda propagandist, Anwar al-Awlaki.

Thankfully, none of the children at the Islamic Center of San Diego were harmed. But I worry about what those children are being taught about Christians, Jews and America.

Revenge Of The RINOs

Senate Republicans are scrambling to pass a reconciliation bill funding President Trump’s immigration priorities by the end of the month. But retiring North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis, a real RINO (Republican In Name Only), wants to delay any votes on immigration enforcement funding until next month.

Why? Tillis thinks Cornyn “should be free to campaign in Texas this week” instead of doing his job in Congress.

Sen. Cornyn is in a tough runoff race against Attorney General Ken Paxton. That election is scheduled for next Tuesday, and Tillis is concerned that any tough votes this week will put Cornyn in a difficult position. But that may not matter now that President Trump has endorsed Ken Paxton. (See next item.)

RINOs who stick together fail together.

What a commentary about why conservatives are so frustrated that with a 53 to 47 majority in the Senate, so little gets done.

Paxton Makes History

Here’s one reason why President Trump may have chosen to endorse Ken Paxton. As attorney general of Texas, Paxton scored a historic settlement with Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) late last week.

After TCH was exposed for performing sex change operations on children, Paxton aggressively prosecuted the hospital and the doctors involved. The hospital administration decided to settle the case.

It will pay $10 million for fraudulently billing Texas Medicaid. It will create the nation’s first “detransition clinic” to help patients reverse the damage of so-called “gender affirming care.” And TCH will fire “five woke doctors” who mutilated children.

President Trump has courageously fought to protect our children from radical gender ideology, and he probably saw a courageous fighter in Ken Paxton, too.

Left-wing Lunacy

AB Hernandez, a boy claiming he is a girl, continues to dominate girls’ track and field events in California. Female athletes and their parents are continuing to speak out against this lunacy, and the leftists just blinked.

At the Southern California Section finals over the weekend, officials made the decision to also award gold medals to any girl who finished second to Hernandez. When the competition was over, eight gold medals had been awarded to “second-place” girls who lost to Hernandez.

In addition, second-place female finishers were allowed to stand at the first-place top position on the winners’ podium with Hernandez. Reacting to this insanity, former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines wrote on social media that the “shared podium for the boy competing in the girls’ event” amounted to a “public humiliation ritual for the girls.”

Of course, she is absolutely right. It is humiliating and demeaning for girls to share the podium with a cheating boy. But the fact that the officials actually made this decision is a confession that they know these competitions are rigged and unfair to female athletes. Yet, rather than put an end to this left-wing lunacy, they are continuing to humiliate young women.

Voter Fraud Is Real

Whenever Republicans promote voter ID legislation, Democrats and their media allies insist that voter fraud is a myth. Let me introduce you to Brenda Lee Brown Armstrong.

Armstrong appeared in federal court Monday on charges of voter fraud. She paid homeless people on Los Angeles’ Skid Row to register to vote. Don’t people need an address to register to vote? Yes, they do. Armstrong frequently put her home address on the voter registration forms signed by homeless individuals.

She’s been doing this for the past 20 years in a state where absentee ballots are automatically mailed to every registered voter!

More Mamdani Madness

Mayor Mamdani also sparked outrage Monday when he mocked Ronald Reagan. Speaking at the site of one of his government-run grocery stores, Mamdani said he disagreed with Reagan’s famous quote about the most terrifying words in the English language: “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help you.”

The mayor said the most terrifying words really are, “I worked all day and can’t feed my family.” He continued, “We are going to use the power of government to lower prices and make it easier for New Yorkers to put food on the table.”

I knew Ronald Reagan. I worked for President Reagan for all eight years of his administration. So, I’m not going to let that Marxist demagoguery go unanswered.

Ronald Reagan spent his entire presidency showing how big government programs, passed in the name of compassion, were actually hurting the people they were supposed to help. They also were gutting taxpayers and working-class people by making them pay taxes for programs that were ineffective and poorly run.

This was so obvious in America that when Democrat Bill Clinton took office, he said with great fanfare, “The era of big government is over.”

Maybe no one has told the mayor, but there’s a little program called “Food Stamps,” in which we spend $100 billion a year helping low-income people buy food. There’s another program with billions more to help feed families with young children.

The food stamp program itself is rife with fraud and corruption. The electronic benefit transfer cards have become a form of currency in urban America, frequently traded for drugs and alcohol.

Virtually every big government program was passed in the name of “compassion.” But the evidence is overwhelming that many of those programs are ineffective and corrupted. As Ronald Reagan once said, “In the sixties, we waged war on poverty, and poverty won.”

There never seems to be enough money to satisfy the Left’s demands for even more “free” stuff. But Mamdani is doing a good job of chasing successful people out of the city.

Left-wing Hate

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is taking heat after self-proclaimed “Mangionistas” were given press credentials by the mayor’s office to cover Monday’s court proceedings in the trial of Luigi Mangione. These women are not journalists. They are murder-loving Marxist revolutionaries.

After the hearing ended, the “Mangionistas” spoke to the media themselves. Referring to the UnitedHealthcare CEO Mangione murdered in 2024, Ashley Rojas said, “I’m saying f–k Brian Thompson. I don’t give a flying f–k he died.” Lena Weissbrot added, “His children are better off without him.”

Abril Rios said, “Why do we protect the Second Amendment so much? … I’m not saying we should all take up arms, but when your democracy has eroded and there are no other options, what are we meant to do?”

I’ll tell you what you’re not meant to do: The Second Amendment does not give you permission to gun down innocent people on the sidewalk!

The most elementary review of their application for press credentials would have easily determined that these women are revolutionaries who want to burn America to the ground. But Mamdani apparently wanted them in the courtroom.

Making America Godly Again

On Sunday, my wife, Carol, and I were blessed to join thousands of our fellow Americans on the National Mall for Rededicate 250—a national jubilee of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving. This special day was declared by President Trump in remembrance of the first such day in America on May 17, 1776. The event this year was incredibly moving.
