Test scores continue to plummet, and our kids are falling further behind academically. Urban school systems are churning out failure on a massive scale, instead of basic literacy and math.
This weekend, Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), addressed her union’s annual convention in Washington, D.C. Her remarks could have been delivered at the Democrat National Convention. It wasn’t about children. It was pure hard-left politics.
Weingarten began her remarks with class warfare, railing against billionaires. Next, she blasted the Supreme Court and bragged about her union’s 25 lawsuits against the Trump administration.
Then, Weingarten attacked President Trump, labeling him an “authoritarian” and a “fascist,” and promised her union would launch its “most ambitious election program ever.” Weingarten will spend tens of millions of teachers’ union dues, not helping children, but electing the most radical, left-wing Marxists to ever run for Congress.
The AFT’s extremism was on full display. They rammed through more than 30 resolutions on all kinds of issues. Of course, they condemned school choice. Marxists aren’t big on choices. You get one choice—the government’s choice.
They denounced the enforcement of our immigration laws and demanded mass amnesty.
They also passed three separate resolutions on LGBTQ issues. One rejected the right of parents to know if their child was claiming to be a different gender at school and using a different name. One focused on healthcare equity for LGBTQ communities. And the third, as President Trump would say, promoted transgender for everyone.
Lies Of The Left
A major talking point and goal of America’s growing Marxist movement is “Medicare For All.” It sounds nice and is one reason for the surge of support for socialist candidates. But, as communists always do, they are lying. They’re insinuating that Medicare is free. It is not.
We all pay Medicare taxes throughout our working lives. When you go on Medicare, you face deductibles, non-covered procedures, co-payments and premiums—the same things you deal with in private health insurance.
The other lie is that raising taxes on billionaires will pay for Medicare for All. It won’t. The Washington Post editorial board noted that a 100% tax on billionaires—taking everything they have—funds our government for only 13 months. Then where would you get the money?
The Post’s editors pointed to Europe, where socialized medicine is propped up by crushing taxes on everyone. The average American worker pays about 30% in taxes. In much of Europe, it’s 40% or more.
In the U.S., the top tax rate is 37%. The top tax rate in the Netherlands is 49.5%, which starts when you make only $90,000. Belgians get hit with a 40% tax rate starting at $19,000.
Medicare for All would cost around $3 trillion a year. Paying for it would require massive across-the-board tax hikes on everyone, not just billionaires.
We all should have learned in kindergarten that nothing is free. But socialist politicians are counting on you not understanding that as they push the same failed socialism on America that has destroyed every country where it’s been tried.
Speaking Of Socialists…
Antisemitic Islamist influencer Hasan Piker addressed the College Democrats’ national convention this weekend. He showed up in a Mao suit. That’s not a new fashion label. It’s a reference to the outfit popularized by Chinese communist dictator Mao Zedong. You know—history’s most notorious mass murderer.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani says he is having discussions with the city’s law enforcement leadership about arresting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he addresses the United Nations in September.
There will be dozens of dictators and thugs speaking at the United Nations. But Mamdani wants to arrest the leader of the only democratic nation in the Middle East. Mamdani said he believes Netanyahu is a “war criminal” and should be turned over to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague.
Number one: The United States is not a member of that court and does not recognize its authority or legitimacy.
Number two: This is the same mayor who refuses to follow the laws of the United States when it comes to enforcing laws against illegal aliens. But he is fine following international laws we are not committed to.
This is a perfect example of the danger the growing socialist/Islamist coalition presents to the sovereignty of the United States. By the way, a senior leader in Mamdani’s administration tried to meet with Iran’s UN ambassador.
If someone told me four years ago that John Fetterman would become the voice of reason in the Democrat Party, I would have laughed in their face. But the Pennsylvania senator continues to fire away at the leftists taking over his party.
When asked about Mamdani’s threat to arrest Netanyahu, Fetterman said:
“Well, [he’s] such a tough guy to say that kind of thing. He has no way to do that. Of course, obviously, America’s not even part of that corrupt court, and so he’s just a clown to even say that… Just sit down and focus on the problems that they have in New York.”
Red Alert
The latest Washington Post poll finds the generic ballot for control of Congress is essentially a tossup—48% for Democrats and 45% for Republicans. Some political analysts say a three-point win for Democrats might not be enough for them to take control of the House of Representatives.
But that three-point margin expands to an eight-point Democrat advantage when you consider only voters who are “absolutely certain to vote in November.” An eight-point win would likely result in a Democrat gain of roughly 30 seats. They only need four to take back the House of Representatives.
This is just the latest poll to find a massive “enthusiasm gap” between Democrats and Republicans when it comes to voting this November. Leftist voters are fired up, while conservatives and Christians seem to be asleep.
Trump’s name won’t be on the ballot, but his agenda and his judges are. More importantly, the future of America is on the ballot this November. This is not a normal election. The stakes this year are astronomical as anti-American, anti-Israel Islamists and Marxists are taking over the Democrat Party.
No Christian, conservative or patriot can afford to sit this election out!
