After 18 years of the magic “pause,” are climate alarmists aware of where they have pushed the nation?

For the record: Saying “pause” is the height of arrogance. First, it assumes the global temperature will start to rise again by the same people who said it would keep warming. Secondly, there has been a small, but perceptible cooling trend in the last 10 years.

The latest SST analog model, along with most modeling, is heading toward the Weatherbell.com winter forecast. That chart is on the left, our forecasted 500 mb pattern based on what we have been looking at since spring on the right.

They are very close.

Our forecast, out since spring, would lead to another major challenge to U.S. economic and energy interests. (I know the Farmers’ Almanac got all the headlines, but last year we were out with the cold winter forecast two months before them; this year’s outlook, made in April, was made four months in advance.)

Temperature outlook, winter ‘14-'15:

Snowfall outlook:

In a normal world, that would be enough. But the stonewalling preventing us from becoming energy independent, along with the absurd notion that wind and solar would magically takeover as the primary source of energy, has pushed our nation to the brink. Our power sources were sorely taxed last year. Snow-fighting operations for municipalities are on edge already this year. (I believe a lot of people were lulled into a false sense of security by the baseless propaganda that was spewed, claiming winters would disappear.) But it gets worse. Much worse.

The situation in the Middle East, and the idea that somehow the false missive of global warming is a huge threat, makes all this as scary as it can possibly be to me. The fact the leaders of this nation can claim global warming is our greatest threat, in light of the obvious threats that are posed on our own soil, is a dangerous disconnect with reality. One can not term it any other way. It’s as if they are setting the stage for us to become like Israel, learning how to live with the threat of an attack at any time. I have never feared for my nation the way I do now.

A major terrorist hit on any of the main, now sorely stressed energy supply lines for our nation at anytime of the year, never mind a cold winter, would push us into the abyss. And we have leaders clamoring that global warming is a major threat. We have spent $165 billion on something the AGW crowd has been dead wrong about and has restrained our nation from being as strong and independent as it should be. It’s as if America’s leaders believe NOT shaping one’s destiny, but simply reacting to the situation, is acceptable.

The same people that turn a blind eye to the horror of the rising threat in the Middle East have made us more dependent than ever on that area. And for what? Just what have you accomplished? More uncertainty, more chaos.

It’s as if all this is by design; to force the nation to the brink, so that out of the chaos, a change takes place that transforms everything that has made this nation what it is and given you the chance to live the way you do. And now you want to destroy that chance for others? If you think about it, if that’s your mission, you could not have designed it any better. At least have the guts to quit prostituting weather, climate and science, and come out fully in the open and state your case. Perhaps the rest of the nation will agree with the misery that is fast becoming the result of thinking that is a policy of freedom’s suicide.

H.L. Mencken had the AGW movement pegged, even though he wrote this about other movements in general:

> “The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed – and hence clamorous to be led to safety – by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.” > > “The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false face for the urge to rule it.”

Many times I think of my father’s father in Italy, leaving there as the fascists came to power in a society that was wrought with chaos and confusion. Italy lost a million men in WWI fighting on the side of the allies, yet in few history books is this mentioned. But the point is that, when chaos takes over, people look for someone, or something, to take control. Our nation, for all its faults, has never been pushed to the brink the way it is now. I don’t know if you can possibly understand how helpless we may be, and soon, by the weakening of the very structure that has made us what we are.

I have always wondered if I was as tough and smart as those that came before me, and I have tried to measure up using the freedoms this country has given me. But I fear I will be forced to find the answer in a situation similar to my forefathers, because, given what could now happen, I will have those freedoms taken away and will have to test myself the way my grandparents before me did. And these AGW people call their movement Progressive? What is so progressive about sending us back 50 to 100 years?

All those fancy comfort devices that make life so wonderful today don’t work well when there is no power.

We are pushed to this level now. The actual words of alarmists prove this is not a science fight, but something much more sinister.

The tipping point is near – not in climate, but whether our nation and people as a whole will ever have hope to thrive.

It’s one forecast I pray I am wrong about.
