The first deep state anti-Trump leaker has been caught and arrested. Reality Leigh Winner — yes, Reality Winner is her real name — was arrested Saturday for leaking classified information to The Intercept about Russian attempts to hack a voting software company and local elections offices.
When the media outlet contacted the National Security Agency to confirm the legitimacy of the leaked document, officials immediately contacted the FBI. Investigators determined that the document had been physically handled and that only six people had access to it. They were able to quickly conclude that Winner was the leaker.
As far as we know, Winner is not the source of the leaks that have bedeviled the administration since day one. But here’s what we do know about Ms. Winner:
She is 25 years old and previously served in the Air Force.
She had a Top Secret security clearance, and in February she accepted a position as a contractor handling national security secrets.
Her mother described Winner as a “former U.S. Air Force linguist who speaks Pashto, Farsi & Dari.”
Evidently, Winner spoke another language — that of the “Resistance.”
It is clear from her social media posts that she was a proud Bernie Sanders supporter who despised Donald Trump. Like CNN commentator Resa Aslan, she also called the president “a piece of sh-t.”
But that’s not all. She once urged rapper Kanye West to print T-shirts labeled “Being white is terrorism.”
She also tweeted her support for the terrorist-sponsoring, Holocaust-denying regime in Iran.
On February 7th, she sent this message to Iran’s foreign minister: “There are many Americans protesting US govt aggression towards Iran. If our Tangerine in Chief declares war, we stand with you!”
Sadly, Ms. Winner is just the latest example of what has happened to our military after years of left-wing political correctness. Major Nidal Hasan was consistently promoted in spite of repeated warnings. There were also warnings about Bradley Manning, who gave hundreds of thousands of classified documents to WikiLeaks.
After eight years of Obama, how many more such “Winners” have been promoted up the ranks or hired by national security contractors?
How many more are committed to thwarting the will of the American people by sabotaging this president?
How many more leftists are inside the government who are pledging their support to America’s enemies?
Ramadan Rampage Continues
In Australia Monday, Yacqub Khayre killed one man, took a woman hostage and wounded three police officers before he was shot and killed. Khayre was another “known wolf.”
In 2009, he was arrested for plotting a suicide bombing against an army barracks. Unfortunately, he was acquitted and authorities determined he was “low-risk.”
Yesterday in Paris, tourists sought shelter in Notre Dame Cathedral after a “soldier of ISIS” attacked a policeman with a hammer.
According to The Daily Caller, the death toll for the Islamic holy month of Ramadan currently stands at 180.
They’re Uneasy?
Here’s what was on the front page of yesterday’s Washington Post:
“As Trump Lashes Out, Republicans Grow Uneasy. Some fear president’s storm of tweets is putting their agenda at risk.”
Being “uneasy” seems to be a constant state of being for Republicans in Washington, DC. They are uneasy when they win. They are uneasy when they lose. They are uneasy when they go to bed at night. And they are uneasy when they get up in the morning.
The reason Donald Trump is president today is because many conservative voters were sick and tired of Republican politicians being “uneasy.” They wanted someone who would fight the Left.
Congressional Republicans should spend less time worrying about Trump’s tweets and more time using their solid majority in the House and their narrow majority in the Senate to repeal Obamacare and cut taxes. That is what they all ran on. Trump’s tweets have nothing to do with either one of those things.
Pence Urges Faithful to Pray
Vice President Mike Pence addressed the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast Tuesday morning in Washington, DC. In addition to relaying the Trump administration’s commitment to defending religious liberty and the sanctity of life, the vice president called on those in attendance to pray for America. Here’s what he said:
I encourage you to redouble your efforts, but don’t so much pray for a cause as for country. I’ve always been drawn to what Abraham Lincoln said when he was asked once if he thought that God was on the side of the Union Army in our great Civil War. Abraham Lincoln responded, “I’d rather concern myself more with whether we were on God’s side than whether God is on our side.”
So just pray for America. Pray for this country because America matters.
Remembering D-Day
Tuesday was the 73rd anniversary of D-Day, the Allied invasion of France that marked the beginning of the end of World War II.
America still has the most powerful military in the world. Its technological sophistication surpasses anything our leaders of 70 years ago could have imagined. But when it comes to having the moral courage to do what needs to be done to triumph over evil, our retreat from the values of the Greatest Generation has been nothing short of breathtaking.
On D-Day, President Roosevelt demonstrated that moral courage when he led the nation in a prayer for our troops crossing the English Channel. Below are some excerpts of FDR’s D-Day prayer. Share them with your children as a reminder of America’s rich religious heritage and the courage we drew from it.
Almighty God: Our sons, pride of our nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity…
They fight not for the lust of conquest. They fight to end conquest. They fight to liberate… They yearn but for the end of battle, for their return to the haven of home. Some will never return. Embrace these, Father, and receive them, Thy heroic servants, into Thy kingdom.
And for us at home … help us, Almighty God, to rededicate ourselves in renewed faith in Thee in this hour of great sacrifice… And, O Lord, give us faith. Give us faith in Thee; faith in our sons; faith in each other; faith in our united crusade… Thy will be done, Almighty God. Amen.
To all the men and women of the Greatest Generation who are still with us, thank you for your service and sacrifice. Thank you for defeating totalitarianism and for demonstrating tremendous courage throughout World War II, especially on D-Day.
