The Patriot Post® · Don't Let the Left Silence You
As you know, Devin Patrick Kelley murdered 26 people and wounded 24 others Sunday during a shooting rampage at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas.
Press reports indicate that Kelley briefly served in the Air Force, but was court-martialed on two counts of assaulting his wife and child. He spent a year in confinement and was dishonorably discharged in 2014.
Multiple people who knew Kelley say he was not just an atheist but an aggressive atheist who openly mocked people as “stupid” if they believed in God. Others described him as “creepy” and “crazy.”
Thankfully, courageous Sutherland residents Johnnie Langendorff and Stephen Willeford confronted Kelley, undoubtedly saving lives.
Most of us see Sunday’s atrocity as completely inexplicable. Who would go into a church and commit mass murder? But if you believe, as this intolerant atheist did, that there is no God, it becomes more clear.
As the horror of this news from Texas was still sinking in, millions of God-fearing Americans did what we always do when faced with such suffering. We prayed. We activated prayer chains. We went on social media and expressed our love for the victims and families.
If you did that, it didn’t take long to experience something that is a marker of the darkness that has descended on America.
Social media was saturated with self-described leftists and atheists mocking Christians for praying. Many were using vicious and intolerant language. And because they don’t believe in God, they were calling on government to take away more rights because government is the only thing they believe in.
My reaction to this hate was to redouble my prayers not only for the victims and their families but for these prayer harassers who are lost in their own darkness.
Think about this — a God-hating, Christian-hating atheist goes into a church and kills 26 Christians. Christians all over America start praying and other God-hating, Christian-hating atheists go online to harass us. What a dark day, courtesy of so-called “tolerant” atheists.
More Left-Wing Hate
Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was mowing his lawn in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Friday afternoon when he was attacked by his neighbor, Rene Boucher, a 59-year-old former anesthesiologist. Sen. Paul’s injuries are far more severe than initially reported.
Paul suffered five broken ribs in the attack and is reportedly in severe pain. Doug Stafford, Paul’s chief of staff, said, “This type of injury is caused by high velocity severe force. It is not clear exactly how soon he will return to work, as the pain is considerable…”
What do we know about Sen. Paul’s attacker? Jim Bullington, a former city official who knows both men, described Boucher as a socialist who is “pretty much the opposite of Rand Paul in every way.” Other neighbors described Boucher as left-wing and active on social media bashing conservatives and the Republican Party.
Paul’s attack, like the attempted assassination of House Republicans including Majority Whip Steve Scalise, is just one more example of intolerant left-wing violence.
Think about this for a moment. A vocal Trump-hating, conservative-hating man in Kentucky attacks Sen. Rand Paul and breaks five of his ribs. Two days later, a God-hating, Christian-hating atheist kills 26 Christians in a Texas church. The Paul story is quickly forgotten, while the Texas story is used as an excuse to take away constitutional rights.
Imagine if a Hillary-hating, liberal-hating Tea Party supporter attacked Bernie Sanders in his front yard and 48 hours later a Christian pro-life activist went on a shooting rampage at an abortion clinic. What do you think the media’s reaction would be for the rest of the week?
The talking heads would be demanding that conservatives and Republicans denounce the epidemic of violence on the Right. So I’m sure we will hear similar calls for the Democrat Party to denounce the violence on the Left.
Waiting… Waiting… Waiting…
By the way, it is because of the Left’s increasing intolerance and hate that many Americans, especially conservatives, say that political correctness is silencing free speech. As many as 58% of Americans now say that they are “afraid to share” their opinions.
Brazile’s Bombshell
Former DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile dropped a bombshell last week on the Democrat Party. Excerpts of her new book were released in which she accused Hillary Clinton’s campaign of executing a hostile takeover of the Democrat National Committee in 2015.
On ABC’s “This Week,” Brazile dropped another bomb. Little did we know at the time that when Hillary collapsed at the 9/11 memorial event last year, Brazile seriously considered taking steps to replace her with Joe Biden because she thought Hillary was too sick to continue.
Brazile told host George Stephanopoulos, “I had to put it on the table, George, because I was under tremendous pressure after Secretary Clinton fainted to quote unquote have a Plan B.”
And there’s more in her book. Brazile dedicated her book to murdered DNC intern Seth Rich. She wrote that she was so frightened by his murder that she installed a surveillance system at her house and kept the blinds closed in her office, fearing snipers. Snipers from where?
In addition, Brazile wrote that she once confronted top Clinton campaign officials for making her feel like a slave, saying, “I am not going to be your whipping girl!” Keep in mind, this is coming from an avowed Clinton supporter who even went so far as to leak debate questions to Hillary.
Brazile’s comments about the ineptitude of the Clinton campaign are a reminder of why Hillary lost — and it had nothing to do with the Russians. Ironically, Clinton loyalists are attacking Brazile now and they are accusing her of buying into Russian propaganda.
Four top Clinton aides published a letter online Saturday in which they wrote: “It is particularly troubling and puzzling that [Brazile] would seemingly buy into false Russian-fueled propaganda, spread by both the Russians and our opponent, about our candidate’s health.”
Brazile isn’t backing down. She said her critics who want her to “shut up” can “go to hell.”
By the way, Brazile isn’t the only one speaking out. Former Clinton pollster Stan Greenberg says that Hillary’s campaign was guilty of “malpractice and arrogance.”
