Former First Lady Barbara Bush passed away Tuesday night at the age of 92. Whatever one may think about the Bush family’s moderate politics, family was always at the center of their lives. George H. W. and Barbara Bush were married for 73 years and raised six children together.

During a commencement speech at Wellesley College in 1990, Barbara Bush encouraged the graduates to pursue their dreams, but to always keep family first. She said:

At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict or not closing one more deal. You will regret time not spent with a husband, a child, a friend or a parent… Your success as a family, our success as a society, depends not on what happens in the White House, but on what happens inside your house.

Not only was Barbara Bush a devoted mother, she was a dedicated public servant. Over the past 25 years, Barbara and George H. W. Bush raised more than $1 billion for various charities.

In a statement, former President George W. Bush wrote: “Laura, Barbara, Jenna, and I are sad, but our souls are settled because we know hers was."

Please join Carol and me in remembering the Bush family in your prayers.

Left-Wing Hate

Predictably, the Left wasted no time in demonstrating its hate. Within an hour of the first reports of Mrs. Bush’s passing, Randa Jarrar, a professor at California’s Fresno State University, tweeted the following:

Barbara Bush was a generous and smart and amazing racist who, along with her husband, raised a war criminal.  F—k outta here with your nice words.

PSA: either you are against these pieces of s—t and their genocidal ways or you’re part of the problem… I’m happy the witch is dead. Can’t wait for the rest of her family to fall to their demise…

Decent men and women took issue with her disgusting remarks, but Jarrar doubled down with these tweets:

All the hate I am getting ALMOST made me forget how happy I am that George W Bush is probably really sad right now.

I work as a tenured professor. I make 100K a year doing that. I will never be fired. I will always have people wanting to hear what I have to say.

Joseph Castro, president of Fresno State, issued a statement, saying in part:

We share the deep concerns expressed by others over the personal comments made today by professor Randa Jarrar… Her statements were made as a private citizen, not as a representative of Fresno State.

Professor Jarrar’s expressed personal views and commentary are obviously contrary to the core values of our University, which include respect and empathy for individuals with divergent points of view, and a sincere commitment to mutual understanding and progress.

Sorry, President Castro, but that’s not good enough.

Professor Jarrar is obviously a bigot. Her tweet about tenure makes it clear she is spouting her deranged views in the classroom as a representative of Fresno State. I’m sure recordings of her lectures would be most revealing.

She should be fired. Of course, she has First Amendment rights. But that didn’t protect Curt Schilling or Dr. John McAdams. If conservatives can be fired for their personal views, so can Jarrar.

At a minimum, she should be subjected to lengthy sensitivity training so she can learn to overcome her anti-conservative hatred and bigotry.

ACTION ITEM: Please contact President Castro. Tell him that the university must demonstrate its commitment to respect and empathy by holding Jarrar accountable. Alumni of Fresno State should withhold all donations until Jarrar is disciplined.

To our friends and supporters in California, I urge you to contact your state legislators as well. As Jarrar mockingly noted, your tax dollars are paying her salary.

Women’s March Madness

Dr. Jarrar shouldn’t worry too much about losing her job. If she is fired, she will have no problem getting a job as a leader of the Women’s March.

As we have previously reported, the Women’s March is embroiled in scandal for its embrace of extremism. This group, which claims to represent American women, has celebrated cop killers.

It is also led by radical supporters of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, America’s leading anti-Semite. And the group is doubling down on its anti-Semitism.

Tamika Mallory, co-president of the Women’s March, is calling for a boycott of Starbucks. The ubiquitous coffee chain finds itself in the middle of a maelstrom right now after an incident last week in Philadelphia, in which two black men were arrested after refusing to leave the store.

But that’s not why Mallory is demanding a boycott.

To make amends, Starbucks is closing 8,000 stores next month for an afternoon of "unconscious bias training” for all its workers. It has asked the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) to help conduct the training.

Working with the ADL, one of America’s most prominent Jewish groups, is what Mallory finds “offensive.”

The Women’s March is also defending prostitution and child sex trafficking.

Backpage.com, an online advertising company, and its CEO recently pleaded guilty to multiple charges in several states related to its illicit sex trade. After Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that Backpage.com was being seized and shut down, the Women’s March issued the following tweet:

The shutting down of #Backpage is an absolute crisis for sex workers who rely on the site to safely get in touch with clients. Sex workers rights are women’s rights.

Incredibly, numerous Democrat politicians have allied with the Women’s March, including 2016 vice presidential nominee Sen. Tim Kaine, New York Sen. Kristen Gillibrand and Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill.

According to The Washington Post, House Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi “led more than a dozen Democratic lawmakers on the stage” at this year’s march.

I doubt many American women are really onboard with celebrating cop killers, child sex trafficking and rabid anti-Semites. But that is what the organizers of the Women’s March stand for.

Any politician who stands with them should be defeated.

Any corporate sponsor, union or trade association that stands with the Women’s March should be boycotted.

By the way, earlier this week I told you about Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), plotting to shut down schools in Puerto Rico. AFT is a sponsor of the Women’s March.
