The left-wing fringe is taking over the Democrat Party. It has nominated several socialist candidates, including the Democrat nominee for governor of Florida.
And in New York, voters were treated to a debate between left-wing Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the even further left-wing actress/activist Cynthia Nixon.
Cuomo is so afraid of the left-wing of his party that he called the brave men and women of ICE “a bunch of thugs.”
Wrong again, Mr. Cuomo.
America is a great country in part because of our courageous ICE agents who risk their lives every day to keep real thugs off our streets.
You’ll recall that President Trump referred to the murderers and rapists of MS-13 as “animals.” He was immediately set upon by the Left, most notably Nancy Pelosi, who declared them to be children of God.
I’m certain Nancy Pelosi won’t take the time today to remind Cuomo that the men and women of law enforcement are children of God too.
And let me remind you that Cuomo has previously demonstrated his intolerance for pro-life, pro-Second Amendment conservatives, saying, “They have no place in the state of New York.”
The bottom line is that left-wing politicians are increasingly willing to use more damning words about law enforcement, Christians, conservatives, and America itself than they would ever use against radical Islamists, illegal immigrants, gang members, and real thugs.
Left-wing Extremism
A new poll by the Associated Press finds that only 24% of Americans support what is fast becoming a major litmus test issue within the Democrat Party — abolishing ICE. Previous polls have found remarkably consistent results. No doubt that’s because 68% of voters believe illegal immigration is a serious problem.
I raise this issue because our staff recently discovered a tragic coincidence that speaks volumes about the extremism of the Left.
On July 18th, the day Mollie Tibbetts was abducted and murdered, the House of Representatives voted on a resolution expressing support for the officers and personnel of ICE. Every Republican but one voted for the resolution and in support of ICE.
Only 18 Democrats voted for the resolution. Nearly twice as many voted against it. And 133 Democrats proved they were cowards by voting “present.”
Unfortunately for her, Mollie Tibbetts can never vote again.
But you can! And you must vote against the open-borders extremists who are putting American citizens at risk.
One of those extremists is Rep. Beto O'Rouke of Texas, who is seeking a promotion to the Senate. He voted AGAINST the House resolution supporting ICE. And he’s all in on open borders.
Democrat Distractions
In campaigns, issues matter. From abortion to taxes, immigration to foreign policy, that’s what voters want to hear candidates talking about during the campaign season. How will a candidate’s agenda improve our communities and lives? That’s what matters most.
But far too often, campaigns get distracted from the truly important issues with faux controversies. And that’s exactly what is happening right now in Florida.
Fresh off his big primary victory for governor, Rep. Ron DeSantis gave an interview and talked about his Democrat opponent. Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum is a Bernie Sanders socialist. He supports socialized health care, a massive 40% tax on businesses, and the abolition of ICE.
Here’s what DeSantis said about Gillum’s issue positions:
“He is an articulate spokesman for those far-left views. And he’s a charismatic candidate … so we’ve got to work hard to make sure that we continue Florida going in a good direction.
"Let’s build off the success we’ve had with Gov. Scott. The last thing we need to do is to monkey this up by trying to embrace a socialist agenda with huge tax increases and bankrupting the state. That’s not going to work. That’s not going to be good for Florida.”
The left-wing media immediately pounced, declaring the phrase “monkey this up” to be a racist dog whistle against his African-American opponent.
Is “monkey wrench” a racist term now? Is Barack Obama a racist for talking about politicians who “monkeyed around with elections”?
This race-baiting seems to be the default position of Democrats and their media allies. It is not only absurd, it is a total distraction from the important issues and it is deeply damaging to the country.
Graves for Lobsters?
Here’s another example of the Left’s insanity: On the one hand, there are left-wing groups trying to remove crosses from the graves of soldiers who died for America. On the other hand, another left-wing group, PETA, is trying to force the state of Maine to put up graves for lobsters.
So glad everyone on the Left has their priorities straight!
Good News
Senate Democrats caved this week and agreed to confirm 15 more Trump judges, and the Left is furious!
GDP growth was revised upward to 4.2%.
Consumer confidence is at its highest level in nearly 18 years.
Household income is up too.
51% of voters approve of President Trump’s decision to renegotiate NAFTA. Only 35% oppose it.
54% of voters say NFL anthem protests are inappropriate.
