The Patriot Post® · Fear and Loathing From the Left
The Washington Post has a breathtaking story on the midterm elections. Just consider the opening paragraph:
“President Trump has settled on a strategy of fear — laced with falsehoods and racially tinged rhetoric — to help lift his party to victory in the coming midterms, part of a broader effort to energize Republican voters with two weeks left until the Nov. 6 elections."
This is a theme I have heard repeatedly in other "mainstream” media outlets. In fact, The New York Times has essentially the same story under the headline: “Trump and G.O.P. Candidates Escalate Race and Fear as Election Ploys.”
If you ever needed proof that Big Media was taking its talking points directly from the DNC, there you go. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when I read the absurd articles claiming Trump is fearmongering.
Let me remind you about the fearmongering the Left has engaged in for the past two years.
We’ve been told that Donald Trump not only colluded with Russians but that he could be a compromised Russian agent.
We’ve been told that Trump is crazy and can’t be trusted with the nuclear codes.
We’ve been told that Trump’s tweeting could start a nuclear war with North Korea.
And that he’s also appeasing North Korea.
We were told that if you are any kind of [fill in the blank] minority you would have no rights if Trump was elected president.
We were told that his Supreme Court nominees would threaten the lives of millions.
We were told that Trump has a secret plan to gut Social Security and Medicare.
We were told that moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem could cause a massive Middle East war.
We were told that Trump’s tax cuts could cause a recession.
We’ve been told that his tariffs could cause a recession.
We’ve been told that his immigration policies could cause a recession.
I could do this all day long.
What’s Really Happening
None of the Left’s gloom and doom has come to pass. It’s all scare tactics and fearmongering by a left-wing media complex that simply despises this president and the commonsense values of the American people.
Let’s look at reality.
Consumer confidence is at an 18-year high.
Household income is at an all-time high.
The unemployment rate is near a 50-year low.
Small business optimism is at a record high.
The U.S. economy was just ranked the world’s “most competitive” for the first time in 10 years.
The fact is, President Trump’s policies are making America great again. But the media will never admit that, and they definitely don’t want you to believe that.
The Wrong Tune
In 1971, John Lennon released his famous song “Imagine.” It has a nice melody, but a terrible message. One of its lines is: “Imagine there’s no countries / It isn’t hard to do.” Apparently, America’s progressives like Lennon’s idea.
The Left wants to abolish ICE, let caravans of unknown people enter the country by the thousands, let noncitizens vote, refuses to build a wall or otherwise secure the border, and calls Americans “heartless” if we object to this insane agenda.
I don’t know if all these things will result in a world with no countries, but it would certainly result in a world without a recognizable United States.
We want a secure border, no amnesty, extreme vetting of people coming into the U.S., only U.S. citizens voting in our elections, and reinforcements for ICE and the Border Patrol.
If these are the two options voters are thinking about on Election Day, we won’t lose the House or the Senate.
Who’s Coming?
The massive migrant army marching toward the U.S. border is just 1,000 miles away. President Trump is warning that “Criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in” with the many thousands headed our way.
Left-wing journalists don’t like that. But how can they possibly know? We are constantly catching criminals at the border. I challenge them to prove the president wrong.
But here’s what we do know. Most of these migrants are not refugees. In spite of all the cries for “compassion,” the vast majority of the marchers are coming for economic reasons. Economic concerns do not qualify an individual for refugee status.
A survey of Honduran citizens conducted last year found that 83% of those who left the country did so because they were looking for work. Only 11% said they fled because they feared for their safety.
Here’s something else to think about: Have you seen these photos? Here and here. Why are the “refugees” burning our flag and marching under theirs? If they hate America so much, why are they coming here?
By the way, another convoy of migrants is already on its way.
