In George Orwell’s allegory about the Soviet Union, “Animal Farm,” the slogan of the pigs in charge was “All the animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.”

Here in this country, you can see it graphically played out when it comes to sexual depravity. Whereas those on the Left have used lies and liars in their attempt to destroy the career of Brett Kavanaugh and tried their hardest to at least embarrass Donald Trump over what appear to be consensual sexual activities, when it comes to their own they show the same lack of interest that I have when it comes to soccer.

Over the past couple of years, thanks to the #MeToo movement, a few notable liberals, including Matt Lauer, Al Franken, Les Moonves, Charlie Rose, John Conyers and Mark Halperin, have been brought down.

The only reason I neglected to mention Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein and Bill Clinton, is because they are special cases. In the case of Weinstein and Epstein, everybody knew for decades that they were sexual predators, but because they were such generous contributors to the Democrats, nobody hung them out to dry.

Besides, Weinstein’s victims all assumed they could use their silence to their career advantage and Epstein targeted under-age foreigners, and, as we all know, the Democrats only care about young foreigners when they huddle at our border and can be used to pummel Donald Trump and the Republicans.

As for Bill Clinton, unlike the other two, he not only doesn’t face jail time, even though he openly consorted with Epstein, often traveling to the creep’s private island—and we know it wasn’t to gaze at the sunsets or engage in sport fishing—he is still treated like an icon by his fellow Democrats.

That island, by the way, is called Little Saint James. It is located off the coast of St. Thomas and can be found, rather ironically, among the Virgin Islands.

With the frequent flying hours Bill Clinton racked up flying down to what people-in-the-know came to call Pedophile Island, Clinton could probably fly to the moon.

What’s so odd about this whole sordid affair is that you would think that with all their money, these pigs wouldn’t have to resort to rape and teenagers to satisfy their sexual appetites. Still, on the other hand, when you take a gander at the liberal women available to them, women who look like Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, Dianne Feinstein, Rosie O'Donnell, Oprah Winfrey, Elizabeth Warren, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and Maxine Waters, it does give one pause.

Gov. Gavin Newsom is offering free health care to every illegal alien in California. As a tax-paying resident of the state, I am calling on Attorney General William Barr to sue California for the criminal misuse of our state taxes.

The irony is that the only reason that Newsom can even consider this illegal giveaway is because Trump’s cutting taxes and federal regulations has provided Newsom with a financial windfall.

The scary thing isn’t that people such as Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, women who have been lucky enough to have been rescued from the sewers of Syria and Somalia and brought to the United States, hate America and Americans.

What is particularly scary and deeply troubling is that in spite of that openly- expressed hatred, they were elected to Congress.

What’s even worse is the unavoidable conclusion that they were elected, not in spite of that, but because of it.

The most recent entry in the Democratic race is Tom Steyer. Although he made a large part of his fortune investing in coal, for years his single mission in life has been to stamp out the coal industry and promote the climate change conspiracy.

Even though he has a fortune to spend in his attempt to buy the nomination, he’s not likely to garner the brass ring. For one thing, he has the personality of a sea urchin. For another, if the Democrats want to elect someone who takes climate change seriously, they have their choice of 19 other dunderheads. Why should they vote for someone who is simply trying to absolve his guilt for profiting off coal?

Because it gets so hot here in the San Fernando Valley—98 today, a predicted 102 tomorrow—I’m not as fond of summer as I used to be. For one thing, it no longer provides a welcome break from school. The only real difference between summer and the other seasons out here is the heat and the increase in traffic, thanks to tourists.

But there are still a few things about summertime that bring a smile to my angelic face, carrying me back on the wings of nostalgia. One of them is the ding-a-ling tune of ice cream trucks trolling the neighborhood. The other thing is the sound of prop planes in the sky coming in for a landing at the nearby Van Nuys Airport. Whereas the sound of jet planes is an abomination, the whir of a propeller flies me back to my childhood.

Speaking of which, the last scene in “Casablanca,” the one in which Ilsa and Victor fly away and Rick and Captain Renault walk off into the fog, was shot at that airport. Because it was wartime, they didn’t have the use of two airplanes. The one that Ilsa and her husband board was real, but the one you see being worked on in the misty background was a model. They used midgets as the mechanics to provide the appropriate scale.

In case you hadn’t heard, CNN, for years, has been bribing airports to broadcast their shows. That’s how desperate they are for viewership.

Although I’ve heard rumors that thanks to their 24/7 attacks on President Trump, the ratings of CNN and MSNBC have spiked since his inauguration in 2017, they rarely garner even as many as a million viewers for any of their unwatchable shows.

In fact, it has always struck me as peculiar that the likes of Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Laurence O'Donnell, Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon, achieve a far larger audience when portions of their segments are carried on Fox than when they initially air.

It might make more sense if in the future, Fox hosts merely allude to the inanities voiced by their competitors and not show them.

One of my readers suggested that the Republicans constantly run the State of the Union speech in which President Clinton declared that one of the gravest threats America faced was from the steady invasion of illegal aliens. And yes, he referred to them as illegal aliens, and not as undocumented immigrants or unregistered Democrats or whatever the term is this week.

I replied that the problem is that the Party has, as they say, evolved over the past quarter century.

Besides, except when they choose to roll him out as an iconic figure at conventions and the like, Clinton is as passé and irrelevant as Ross Perot.

But, speaking of evolution, I’m reminded that Barack Obama initially opposed same-sex marriages, in spite of his own, until he, too, evolved.

On the chance that you’ll be in L.A. between Friday, July 26th, and Thursday, August 1st, you might want to catch “Angels on Tap,” a rollicking comedy I wrote and co-produced, starring Ed Asner, Marion Ross, Jamie Farr, Alan Rachins and Ron Mazak.

Every day that week, “Angels” will screen once at 1 p.m., at the Town Center Theater in the San Fernando Valley (17200 Ventura Blvd.). As I plan to attend every screening, stop by and say hello.
