It’s Time for Democrats to Choose Sides: Do You Stand With America?

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), the congresswoman who once described the Muslim terrorist attacks of 2001 as “some people did something,” lashed out at President Trump after he gave orders to take out two top terrorist leaders in Iraq.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), the congresswoman who once described the Muslim terrorist attacks of 2001 as “some people did something,” lashed out at President Trump after he gave orders to take out two top terrorist leaders in Iraq.

Iranian Major-General Qassem Soleimani, head of the Quds Force, and Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were among those killed in the missile strike near the Baghdad airport.

Rep. Omar condemned the president’s decision.

“So what if Trump wants war, knows this leads to war and needs the distraction? Real question is, will those with congressional authority step in and stop him? I know I will,” she wrote on Twitter.

You might recall that in 2016 Omar advocated for leniency and compassion in the sentencing of a group of young men who were convicted of trying to join ISIS.

Former Obama staffer Ben Rhodes called the attack “terrifying.”

“Trump may have just started a war with no congressional debate. I really hope the worst case scenario doesn’t happen but everything about this situation suggests serious escalation to come,” he wrote on Twitter.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib tweeted, “We cannot stay silent as this lawless President recklessly moves us closer to yet another unnecessary war that puts innocent lives at risk at home & across the globe. Congress alone has the authority to declare war, & we must reclaim our responsibility & say no to war with Iran.”

The Department of Defense released a statement stating that the strike was ordered because “General Soleimani was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region.”

“General Soleimani and his Quds Force were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American and coalition service members and the wounding of thousands more,” the Pentagon statement read. “He had orchestrated attacks on coalition bases in Iraq over the last several months — including the attack on December 27th — culminating in the death and wounding of additional American and Iraqi personnel. General Soleimani also approved the attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad that took place this week.”

Fox News reports that Iran was responsible for killing more than 600 U.S. troops during the Iraq War.

“Soleimani led all Iranian and Iranian-backed forces in those operations. 17% of U.S. troops killed in Iraq from 2003 to 2011 orchestrated by Iran,” Pentagon correspondent Lucas Tomlinson reported.

In other words, a very dangerous monster got exactly what he deserved — a one-way ticket to the hereafter.

Both Iranians and Iraqis celebrated in the streets upon hearing news of Soleimani’s death. However, Democrats and the mainstream media seem to be conflicted.

The day of choosing has come for the mainstream media and Democrats like Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Do you stand with America, or do you stand with the enemy?
