The Patriot Post® · The Changing Face of America
Over the years, I’ve discovered I have far more memories of my childhood than most other people have of theirs. I believe it’s because just after my sixth birthday, my family moved from Chicago to Los Angeles. It was such a dramatic change that it was as if someone had drawn a line across the page. So, unlike kids who grew up in one place, I had two separate sets of memories. If things happened when it was too hot, too cold or it was snowing, I knew it had taken place in Chicago.
I suspect that the shutdown will draw just such a line across all our lives. I fear too many of us have now been trained to take orders, even those that deprive us of our inalienable freedoms. And as with new taxes and government bureaucracies, once they’re allowed to gain a toehold, they never disappear.
In my own case, I have grown accustomed to dividing people between those who are Democrats and those who are Republicans, or, if you prefer, between Liberals and Conservatives. They’re them and we’re us.
But now there is a new dividing line. On one side, there are those who think the shutdown and all the regulations were essentially unnecessary and that draconian safety measures should only have been used to protect the elderly and the infirm; and that the greatest danger was always to the economy, which suited the Democrats just fine.
On the other side of the line are those who have been so successfully brainwashed that they get the heebie-jeebies if anyone sneezes within a hundred yards of them. They believe the changing face of America should be wearing a mask.
So far as they’re concerned, they’d like the lockdown to continue until the Second Coming when I suppose Jesus could finally sound the All Clear.
There is more than one reason that the Democrats are loving the shutdown. For openers, it provides left-wing governors and mayors dictatorial powers they had always asked Santa Claus to bring them, but, like those earlier requests for ponies and baby sisters, never really expected to receive.
A second reason is that it has activated the printing presses at the U.S. Treasury, providing Nancy Pelosi and her flying monkeys the golden opportunity to funnel not just billions but trillions of dollars to things like welfare and Planned Parenthood.
But, best of all, China’s gift to the world has decimated the U.S. economy, which just might make it possible for as shoddy a piece of merchandise as Joe Biden to defeat Donald Trump in November, particularly if the virus allows the DNC to use it as an excuse not to hold presidential debates.
Speaking of the virus, I find it amazing that the media, as corrupt as it is, has decided to take a crack at blaming the President for not taking faster action in containing it. I suppose they’ve been so successful at spreading malicious gossip about Trump for so long, they figure the pinheaded voters will fall for anything. Unfortunately, they’re right.
There are people who are responsible for the virus, but one of them is not Trump.
First of all, there’s Xi Jinping who kept the truth under wraps for weeks after the breakout in Wuhan, going so far as to arrest and possibly kill the doctors who wanted to warn the world.
Then there are governors like Andrew Cuomo of New York who, instead of protecting the most vulnerable, made it his policy to move C-19 victims into nursing homes. The man should be facing trial, charged with 5,000 counts of manslaughter.
Then there’s the media’s pet poodle, Dr. Anthony Fauci. After all, he’s supposed to be the expert when it comes to viruses, not Trump. And yet it was the President who stopped flights from China and then Europe in spite of the World Health Organization and Fauci condemning his action.
In the meantime, in February, Fauci, parroting the WHO’s Tedros Adhanom, was telling us that the virus was no big deal and that there was no reason for people to start wearing masks.
As we now know, Fauci prostrates himself at the feet of Adhanom, who, in turn, does the same at the feet of Xi Jinping.
As most of you know by now, I am conflicted when it comes to abortions. I detest the procedure, but when I see who’s having them performed, I can’t say I would be delighted to see all those potential thieves, druggies and welfare junkies, being brought into the world. But I am definitely not conflicted when it comes to Planned Parenthood.
There are many organizations that would improve the national landscape if they would just disappear. Just a few off the top of my head are Antifa, Black Lives Matter, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the ACLU, the NAACP, the FBI, the WHO, the World Trade Organization, the Council on Foreign Relations, the International Monetary Fund, the Bilderberg Group, the Anti-Defamation League, the IRS, the UN and any group financed by George Soros, starting with Media Matters.
But just to get the ball rolling, I might start with Planned Parenthood. Even its name is a lie. It should be called Planned Non-Parenthood. They don’t even suggest to the women coming to the butcher shops they call clinics to take a few days to think it over before becoming accessories to murder.
The merchants of death are too busy performing 365,000 abortions and raking in the money. On top of the $500 million that Congress tosses their way every year, they collect over a billion dollars in donations and fees, which makes it even less explicable that they “need” half a billion in taxpayers’ money. But, then, inasmuch as they also peddle off baby parts when nobody’s looking, the evil they perform is exceeded only by their greed.
The latest example of their unquenchable avarice is asking for and receiving $80 million in bailout money that was earmarked for small businesses. I’ve never heard of a small business that grosses over $1.5 billion a year. But, then, I’ve never heard of a small business that could afford to be one of the major donors to congressional campaigns.
Pelosi had the gall to refer to President Trump as not only fat, but as “morbidly obese.”
That happens to be a medical term. Normal people might say that someone is “very fat” or “really fat” or “too fat,” but it’s unlikely they’d say “morbidly obese” unless they had a medical degree and were placing someone on a very strict diet.
But, I checked. The term refers to people who are at least a hundred pounds heavier than they should be, considering their height.
Well, the President is 6'3" and he tips the scales at 243. He could probably stand to lose a few pounds, but he’s in his 70s. I recall the widow of actor Peter Finch telling me that her husband disapproved of men over 50 weighing the same as they did in their 20s. He said it was unbecoming.
I suppose Dr. Pelosi would tell Trump to get his weight down to 143, which is a little less than I weigh and I’m nine inches shorter than the President.
The irony is that it doesn’t behoove certain people to insult other people’s looks because it can call unwanted attention to their own. I recall hearing something about people in glass houses.
I know that Mrs. Pelosi, who’s 80, believes that the plastic surgery and constant Botox treatments keep her from looking her age, and she’s right. She doesn’t look 80. I know that because I’m 80 and I look 80.
But what people like Pelosi and Jane Fonda don’t seem to realize is that all the work doesn’t make them look 20 or 30 or 40. It makes them look like they were manufactured in a doll factory, perhaps in China. It makes them look non-human. It makes them look grotesque. Which, in their cases, might constitute a rare example of truth in advertising.
