The Patriot Post® · Forget Sleepy Joe; Biden Is a Trojan Horse

Being an empty suit is one thing. Being an empty vessel for others to fill is quite another.
As Joe Biden mumbled and gaffed his way through a historically weak Democratic primary field, many on the right mocked his increasingly lethargic demeanor and aloof soundbites. The president christened him “Sleepy Joe,” which — while amusing in reference to his primary season antics — doesn’t capture the gravity of Biden’s shortcomings.
The primary danger in Biden’s descent from a fiery Senate orator to a bumbling distributor of folksy aphorisms and anecdotes is not that he would make an incompetent leader or make poor decisions. I believe he would. But the true risk for our country lies in the absolute certainty that — without the presence of mind and forceful determination Biden clearly lacks — his “everything to everyone” candidacy will serve as a Trojan Horse for the radical forces currently tearing America apart.
The people cheering on the destruction of American monuments and history — the mob demanding, with explicit threats of violence and insurrection, that America dismantle its constitutional order to assuage Marxist-manufactured resentments — is salivating at the prospect of a Biden administration.
In the past year, the dark forces lurking at the fringes of the American left have asserted themselves as the intellectual leaders of the Democratic Party. Nikole Hannah-Jones, the same woman who was handed a Pulitzer Prize for her woefully inaccurate and intentionally inflammatory “1619 Project” that promotes the myth of America as a fundamentally racist country, is being given an ever-bigger microphone to call for racial reparations. In her younger, less guarded years, she was more explicit in what she meant, using the traditional black nationalist language of white people as “bloodsucking devils.”
No one in the mainstream Democratic Party, least of all Biden, has condemned her.
The once obscure academic Ibram X. Kendi has ridden the post-George Floyd unrest to national prominence, getting his own center at Boston University to advocate amending the Constitution to create a “Department of Anti-Racism” that would literally have to approve all laws in America and would have the power to remove any democratically elected official who has “racist ideas.” According to Kendi, if you don’t support his policies, you are a racist, so presumably you shouldn’t be allowed to hold office.
Joe Biden is not one of these people. He is simply a man who will never raise a finger to stop them. And they know it.
The likes of Kendi and Hannah-Jones know that, like never before, they have a Trojan Horse perfectly positioned to unleash their vile anti-American vision on the country — and its name is Joe Biden. He’s already caved to the extreme left’s radical climate beliefs. He’ll inevitably embrace its other radical anti-American beliefs on race and policing too.
Indeed, candidate Biden has already been tested by the rioters and their apologists’ increasingly unhinged demands. He failed that test, saying nothing and doing nothing to stand up for principles of American governance and the integrity of American traditions.
If you think that the Democrat Party will come to its senses, united behind a “moderate” like Joe Biden, and abandon its ever-increasing embrace of extremism, you fundamentally misunderstand the situation. The radicalization of the Democrat Party is not slowing down. It’s speeding up, and Joe Biden will do nothing to stop it.
California’s overwhelmingly Democratic state assembly voted to reinstate racial discrimination against whites and asians after voters specifically outlawed it in the 1990s. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi agreed with the rioters that there would have to be a “review” of whether to have statues of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Minneapolis’s Democrat-controlled city council voted 12-0 to accede to rioters’ demands and abolish their police department.
The boulder is rolling down the slippery slope. Faster and faster it goes, and the soon-to-be 78-year-old Joe Biden will have neither the ability nor the inclination to catch it. And they know it.
The seditious radicals and revolutionaries to whom the Democratic Party is now clearly beholden know that all they need is an empty suit like Biden. They know that once they’ve ridden into the White House and the federal agencies in a Trojan Horse, they will have the full power of the federal bureaucracy behind them, ready and willing to implement their radical anti-American vision.
