The Patriot Post® · Hats Off to the Rittenhouse Jury
I confess I had a bad feeling when the 12 jurors in Kenosha took several days to decide that Kyle Rittenhouse had not committed a crime a year ago.
The best I was hoping for was a hung jury. I mean, with a mob outside the courthouse threatening to once again wreak havoc on the city and with a prosecutor who was leaving them with an out if they wanted to declare the defendant guilty of a lesser charge than murder, it took a level of decency and courage of the 12 men and women that one would hope for, but never expect, from our elected officials.
I wish I had been a fly on the wall of the jury room. It would have been fascinating to see how these dozen people who were all strangers a short time ago argued and agonized amongst themselves, knowing they might be setting off riots if they declared the young man not guilty; but ultimately deciding they would not allow themselves to be party to a terrible injustice simply because Prosecutor Binger was an ambitious hack who decided that it was to his political advantage to pretend that the shooting of three white felons by a white teenager could be played up as a racial incident.
We keep hearing that two million illegal aliens — some of them rapists, some of them drug smugglers, some of them sex traffickers, many of them transporting Covid and measles — have been ushered into our country by Joe Biden.
That’s a large number of anything, but, like other large numbers, it is often difficult to get our minds around it.
So how many people is it exactly? It’s as many as currently reside in Albany, New York; Fargo, North Dakota; Des Moines, Iowa; Biloxi, Mississippi; Springfield, Ohio; Billings, Montana; Boca Raton, Florida; Wilmington, Delaware; Manchester, New Hampshire; Sacramento, California; Cheyenne, Wyoming; Reno, Nevada; Macon, Georgia; Montpelier, Vermont; Champaign, Illinois; Salem, Oregon; Terre Haute, Indiana; and Reading, Pennsylvania.
When I got the news that 14 House Democrats had decided not to seek re-election in 2022, I took it as a good sign that the rats were taking their leave to avoid being steamrollered in next year’s congressional races. Much better, after all, to say you’re leaving to spend quality time with your family than to hang around and be trounced by those who voted for Biden and are now suffering from buyers’ remorse.
But then I heard that 10 House Republicans were also leaving Washington even though they could be confident of being members of the majority party in a year, finally out from under the thumb of Nancy Pelosi.
The biggest surprise is that Lee Zeldin, one of only two Jewish Republicans in the House, is one of the 10, although he apparently has his eyes on the governorship of New York.
That leaves only David Kustoff to battle against the Israel-hating Jewish Democrats.
It seems that Saule Omarova, Joe Biden’s selection to be the next Comptroller of the Currency, has a shoplifting conviction on her resume. But that pales as a reason to deny the avowed Communist the position. Far more telling is that she has called the banks it would be her job to oversee “an a**hole industry.”
Jacob Chansley, after serving 10 months, most of it in solitary confinement, for wandering around the Capitol on January 6th wearing Viking horns, looking like an escapee from Richard Wagner’s “Die Walkure,” has just been sentenced to an additional 31 months in jail.
Keep in mind he didn’t harm anyone. But it’s enough that he pissed off Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi.
But in the meantime, the black cop, Michael Byrd, who shot and killed Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed military veteran, still has his job with the Capitol Police.
Biden’s Attorney General, Merrick Garland, continues to turn a blind eye and a deaf ear, to the BLM leader in New York who has threatened a blood bath if the newly elected mayor, Eric Adams, goes through with his promise to reintroduce police authority to the city.
But he is still targeting parents who oppose their kids being indoctrinated with racist demagoguery and sexual deviance.
It’s time for everyone to agree that rioters are not civil rights activists. Instead, they are young, ignorant, nihilists who get their rocks off destroying the property of others with impunity.
If the cops would deal with them not by standing in a line holding up shields on those rare occasions when they actually show up to do their jobs, only to be pelted with rocks, bottles and Molotov cocktails, but used their guns, we’d see far fewer mobs setting fires and destroying the hopes and dreams of America’s small business owners.
What’s more, George Soros would have to pay his cannon fodder a lot more money.
In case you haven’t heard the term “Minor-Attracted Person,” it’s because you’re unaware that a professor at Old Dominion College has come up with it to replace “pedophile,” which he claims stigmatizes a group of people who should not be stigmatized.
It so happens that I agree with Prof. Allyn Walker, who may be a man or a woman and probably prefers to be referred to as “they.” I also don’t think that sexual predators who prey on little boys and girls should be stigmatized. I believe they should be exterminated.
It’s always a delight when Mike Rowe shows up on Tucker Carlson’s show. That’s because he points out that a great many people who are wasting their time and their parents’ money taking up space at colleges and universities, should be taking up a useful skill that also happens to pay well.
He recently pointed out that there are presently 10.5 million jobs available. When you wonder why that is, those on the Left claim it’s because employers are racist and rapacious. On the Right, they will say that most people are lazy.
It’s probably a bit of both, but the real problem is that far too many parents feel they’re falling down on the job if they don’t send their offspring to college even though the young sprouts have never cracked a book or displayed the slightest bit of intellectual curiosity.
Rowe is enough of a realist to grant that human beings aren’t born with a hard-working gene in their DNA.
But he does insist that the road to real happiness requires that people accept the principle of personal responsibility, which calls for them to work hard, for as his father used to say, “Short cuts often lead to long delays.”
The Democrats spent a lot of time insisting that Biden’s soaring rate of inflation was only a temporary glitch, but as soon as Americans woke up to the fact that it’s not going away any time soon, the administration reversed their strategy and tried to convince us that inflation is really a good thing.
How good? Well, this afternoon I put 11 gallons of gas in my car, and it cost me $54.98.
I fought off the urge to dance around the gas pump shouting “Way to go, Brandon.”
With more and more vaccinated people contracting Covid, I think we can all begin to understand why the federal government indemnified their chums in the pharmaceutical industry against lawsuits.
Speaking of which, for decades, the bozos on the Left couldn’t say more nice things about Socialist Sweden. But, suddenly, because Sweden’s sensible approach to the Covid madness was to ignore all the mandates including masks, vaccinations, social distancing and school closures, and let their citizens continue to live normal lives, the fascistic Leftists have decided that the Nobel Prize isn’t such a big deal and, what’s more, Swedish meatballs are over-rated.
