Sunday, Senate Democrats passed yet another massive spending bill on a party-line vote of 50 to 50 with Vice President Harris casting the tie-breaking vote. There’s a lot of really bad things in the bill. But let’s start with the name. Democrats are calling this the “Inflation Reduction Act” or IRA Act. That’s a big lie.
There are a couple of fundamental economic principles. One is that you can’t tax your way out of a recession, and this bill imposes a lot of new taxes. Second, you can’t spend your way out of an inflation crisis, and this bill increases spending by hundreds of billions of dollars.
Even Democrats like Senators Bernie Sanders and Chris Coons admit that this bill won’t curb Biden’s runaway inflation.
We could more accurately call this bill “Biden’s IRS Act.” Among other things, it funds an additional 87,000 IRS agents! For perspective, this massive increase in funding will make the IRS bureaucracy larger than the Pentagon, the FBI, the Border Patrol and the State Department — combined!
Democrats insist that these additional agents will only target the “super rich.” Well, there are roughly 730 billionaires in the United States. If you do the math, that’s 119 new IRS agents per billionaire.
We all know that Biden’s new army of IRS agents isn’t going to be harassing billionaires, but middle-class Americans.
In fact, Senate Republicans proposed an amendment to ensure that these new agents audited only wealthy individuals. Unfortunately, the Republican amendment failed because every Senate Democrat voted against it.
Biden’s China Bailout Bill
Here’s something else that’s not getting enough attention. The bill spends at least $370 billion on the so-called “climate emergency.” This money is intended to speed up Biden’s “incredible transition” from gasoline-powered cars to electric vehicles powered by huge batteries.
What no one is admitting is that these batteries require large amounts of “rare earth minerals.” But Communist China, with Hunter Biden’s help, has cornered the market on those metals.
So, at a time when communist China is threatening us with war, Biden and Senate Democrats just took a giant step toward making us more dependent on communist China!
Instead of making us more dependent on communist China, President Biden should go on national television and urge American businesses and investors to disconnect from that country as quickly as possible. Our national security depends on it.
Left-wing Extremism
Before Senate Democrats passed Biden’s pro-IRS/communist China bill, Senate Republicans forced votes on a number of critical issues that put the left’s extremism on full display. For example:
Republicans offered an amendment to ensure that the Title 42 policy, allowing for the quick deportation of illegal aliens at the border, stays in place. Every Senate Democrat voted against it.
Republicans offered an amendment to redirect the additional IRS funding to our public schools to help students overcome the loss of learning that occurred during the COVID lockdowns. Every Senate Democrat voted against it.
Republicans offered an amendment to ensure that federal healthcare funding for pregnancy programs went to only biological women, since only women can get pregnant. Every Senate Democrat voted against it.
Republicans offered amendments to boost onshore and offshore domestic energy production to create jobs and lower gas prices. Every Senate Democrat voted against them.
Why Is Biden Celebrating?
The Biden White House is celebrating the drop in gasoline prices from $5 a gallon to $4.00 a gallon. There’s nothing to celebrate. Gas was $2.25 when Biden took office. It’s still obscenely high!
Here’s what the White House isn’t telling you: There are two reasons gas prices have fallen. First, because Biden is emptying the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which exists in case we find ourselves in a major war or dealing with a major natural disaster, like a big hurricane.
And while Biden empties our reserve, some of our oil is being sold to communist China, which is expanding its strategic reserve because it is preparing for war with us.
The second reason gas prices have dropped is because Biden’s high prices forced people to stop using their cars, destroying demand for gas which is now at the same level it was at in July of 2020 — during the peak of the pandemic.
Of course, that’s precisely the purpose of high prices. The left wants to force you out of your combustion engine car and into electric vehicles, which, as we noted above, benefits communist China.
Again, this is what an “America Last” administration looks like.
Zelensky & Xi Together Again
I think it is fair to say that without the United States and billions of your hard-earned tax dollars, Ukraine would already be occupied by Putin’s Russia. Yesterday, the Biden Administration committed to another $4.5 billion at the urging of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who has been enthusiastically compared to Winston Churchill by our media and political leaders.
Ukraine is a member of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, a Chinese communist plan to connect dozens of countries in a web of economic and political networks intended to help China replace the United States as the premier world power.
Surely today, with communist China’s massive purchases of cheap Russian oil financing Putin’s invasion of his country, Zelensky must see China, under Xi Jinping, as no friend.
But, alas, in an interview a few days ago in the South China Morning Post, Zelensky expressed his desire for communist China to continue to invest in Ukraine. He made it clear that “China, and Chinese businesses” were welcomed to play a role in Ukraine’s reconstruction. He did this interview while communist China was threatening to go to war with us over Taiwan.
So, let me sum it up.
We’re trillions of dollars in debt, but borrowing billions more to send to Ukraine.
The Ukrainian government cozies up to communist China even as communist China is bankrolling Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Then, Zelensky runs to a microphone and demands more money from U.S. families.
This is insanity!
This kind of foreign policy, along with a series of “no-win wars,” has eroded our national consensus on national defense. We do not act like a rational country. Our elites refuse to put America’s interests first.
Cheney In Full Campaign Mode
Rep. Liz Cheney is in full campaign mode … for the Democrats. Cheney told the New York Times that the GOP is “very sick” and she would rather work with liberal Democrats than conservative Republicans.
Her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney, also went all out, not attacking his daughter’s primary opponent, but Donald Trump. So, Dick Cheney is also now in full campaign mode for the Democrats.
It won’t surprise you to learn that Liz Cheney refuses to support Donald Trump in 2024. But over the weekend Cheney also ruled out Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Well, what about you, Dick? Could you support DeSantis?
No one has accused DeSantis of any financial irregularities. His controversial tweets, when they are controversial, are only about policy, not personalities. So, why is Liz Cheney unable to support him?
As I have said many times, this rift in the GOP ranks is not about Donald Trump. It is about the MAGA agenda he represents. And the left’s attacks against Trump aren’t just about Trump. They will do it to any conservative Republican, including Ron DeSantis.
I know it’s hard for many to remember, but the GOP establishment bitterly fought Ronald Reagan too. They tried to saddle him with a Gerald Ford “co-presidency.”
The Bush Dynasty and the Cheney Clan want to go back to a Wall Street party that supports globalism, open borders and at least one war about every three years. Oh, by the way, they also want to go all out on cutting your mother’s Social Security. That’s not a platform Americans will rally behind.
