The Biden Administration and Attorney General Merrick Garland have evidently turned the FBI into Planned Parenthood’s security service. Eleven pro-life activists, ranging in age from 24 to 87, were charged Wednesday for allegedly “blockading” a Tennessee abortion clinic in March of 2021.
According to the Justice Department’s press release, seven defendants are facing 11 years in prison and $350,000 in fines, for violating the FACE Act — the federal Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act. Other defendants are facing one year in jail and $10,000 in fines.
They are not accused of being violent. They didn’t physically assault anyone. They didn’t burn the clinic down. They simply used “physical obstruction” to block the abortion clinic’s doors.
For this act of peaceful protest and civil disobedience, the Biden Administration is determined to destroy their lives and ruin them financially.
This is especially outrageous given that the administration continually tells us that “violent domestic extremism” is the biggest threat facing the country. Well, what is the Biden Administration doing to combat the shocking rise in violent crime and murders?
And why hasn’t the FBI made even one arrest against Jane’s Revenge, which is firebombing crisis pregnancy centers? That is actual violent domestic extremism!
The law is clearly being unequally enforced and the double standard of justice is blatantly obvious.
If you’re a pro-life activist praying on a sidewalk, the Biden Administration has put a bullseye on your back. But if you’re part of Antifa or Jane’s Revenge, beating up people or burning down churches and CPCs, no one at the Justice Department or the FBI seems to care.
This is just another example of the left’s growing intolerance of dissent generally and of men and women of faith especially.
Perhaps there is a thin silver lining here. Now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned and we are no longer pretending there is a constitutional right to abortion, the FACE Act increasingly looks like a serious violation of the First Amendment, and, thus, is unconstitutional.
If demonstrating outside of abortion clinics is a federal crime but there is no federal interest in finding the people who firebomb churches and CPCs, then the rule of law in America is on life support.
Is Hunter Next?
With every passing day, the anger grows over the double standard of justice in America. The FBI is arresting pro-life activists, conducting over-the-top raids on Americans’ homes and perp walking former members of the Trump Administration over relatively minor charges. Yet, Hunter Biden walks free, selling his “art” to the highest bidder.
Here’s my take on what’s going on: As Tony Bobulinski notes, the evidence against Hunter is overwhelming. The Deep State did its job by quashing the laptop story in 2020 and helping Joe Biden occupy the Oval Office. But it can’t keep this facade up much longer.
Remember when it was announced that Hunter Biden was in fact under investigation? It was December 2020, a month after the election.
Hunter is not out of the woods yet. I expect he will be indicted in December, after the election is over so it doesn’t hurt the Democrats’ chances of possibly holding the House and the Senate.
And once the election is over, Hunter’s indictment will be the club that progressives use to force Joe Biden to step down or announce that he won’t run in 2024, so they can get the “real deal” in power, whether it’s Kamala Harris or Gavin Newsom.
Biden’s Energy Insanity
We reported yesterday that the Biden White House was “panicking” over OPEC’s decision to massively cut oil production. The White House even accused the Saudis of siding with Vladimir Putin!
But why would Biden be so upset by less oil production? He’s said that he wants to transition away from oil and natural gas. He’s said that “green energy” is the way to go.
He’s canceled our pipelines. He’s shut down leasing and drilling on our lands. He wants to bankrupt our oil companies. His allies are trying to cut off loans to our energy industry — all in the name of fighting “climate change.”
So, what’s the big deal? Why is it so important for Saudi Arabia to keep drilling, but we can’t?
The answer, of course, is politics. Biden and congressional Democrats are all in on the “green agenda.” But they’re also terrified of getting crushed at the ballot box by angry voters who are sick and tired of their pain at the pump.
While gas prices are creeping up nationally, California, which has several competitive House races, is facing new record high gas prices.
Nevada has the second highest gas prices in the nation, and the GOP looks like it could sweep all the major races there. Critical elections in Arizona, Oregon and Washington State suddenly appear competitive.
But rather than work with American drillers, Biden prefers to deal with foreign killers.
He’s desperately trying to make a nuclear deal with Iran’s ayatollah that would allow more Iranian oil on the world market. He’s lifting sanctions on Venezuela’s Marxist dictator.
That even goes for the left’s whole “green energy” agenda, which is empowering communist China. By the way, communist China is burning a whole lot of coal to make Biden’s solar panels!
Joe Biden’s energy policy is insane and incoherent. While Biden refuses to cooperate with America’s energy industry because “oil is bad,” his only solution is to release more oil from our emergency strategic reserve, which he has already drained to record low levels.
America deserves better than this.
We deserve a commonsense energy policy that puts American workers, American consumers, American businesses and America’s national security first!
Government Censorship
For several years now, conservatives have been frustrated in our efforts to fight Big Tech bias and censorship. A big part of the problem is that these are private companies and most conservatives and “small government” libertarians don’t like telling private companies how to run their businesses.
But new reporting indicates that obscure government agencies and left-wing organizations have played a bigger role in online censorship than was previously understood.
Just The News reports that a consortium of private entities formed what became known as the “Election Integrity Partnership” under the guise of fighting misinformation online during the 2020 elections.
Of course, “misinformation” is bad, and Big Tech was eager to purge misinformation from its platforms. So, it eagerly cooperated with this consortium of academics, think tanks and private enterprise “experts.”
But feeding information to these “misinformation experts” were government agencies like the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the State Department’s Global Engagement Center, along with left-wing groups like Democratic National Committee, Common Cause and the NAACP.
As a result, thousands of websites and millions of social media posts were censored by Big Tech.
As is often the case, “misinformation” is in the eye of the beholder. And that’s the whole point of free speech. Free societies believe it is better to allow open debate rather than silence debate.
And while it’s one thing to argue that private companies like Facebook and Twitter should be allowed to set their own standards, it’s something entirely different for them to be acting on the demands of government bureaucrats and the DNC.
I am pleased to report that House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy has vowed to thoroughly investigate Big Tech and crack down on any and all forms of government-sponsored censorship if Republicans take back the House and the Senate.
Media Malfeasance
In related news, the New York Times was in full-throated attack against election misinformation Monday, blasting so-called “conspiracy theories” and “election deniers.” Here’s the headline from Monday’s story: “How A Tiny Elections Company Became A Conspiracy Theory Target.”
The Times was in high dudgeon over concerns raised by conservative organizations that Konnech, a Michigan-based software company that provides services to local election offices, might be compromised by communist China.
Twenty-four hours later, the New York Times published this headline: “Election Software Executive Arrested On Suspicion Of Theft.”
It turns out that Konnech was storing the personal information of American poll workers on servers in communist China. Adding to the irony is that it is Los Angeles’s left-wing district attorney, George Gascon, who is pressing charges!
