What I Want Obama to Release
'The Most Open and Transparent in History'?
"He who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world's believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good disposition." --Thomas Jefferson (1785)

Barack Hussein Obama's leftist cabal, desperately trying to avoid any discussion of its failed socialist economic policies, recently returned to its reliable "classism" playbook for a diversionary "tax fairness" challenge.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) cowardly slandered from the Senate floor -- where he is constitutionally immune from prosecution for false statements -- that he has heard from a "Bain Capital investor" that Mitt Romney paid no taxes in the last 10 years. Reid and other partisans are now attempting to obtain Romney's tax returns for those years so Leftists can read the worst into what are undoubtedly very complex tax filings.
"Obviously he can't release those tax returns," Reid declared. "How would it look? ... I mean, you do pretty well if you don't pay taxes for 10 years when you're making millions and millions of dollars."
"How would it look?" Answer: However the Democrats and their Leftmedia lemmings want it to look.
Challenged to reveal his source for this accusation, Reid responded, "I am not basing this on some figment of my imagination. I have had a number of people tell me that. That's the best you're going to get from me. ... I don't think the burden should be on me. The burden should be on him. He's the one I've alleged has not paid any taxes. Why didn't he release his tax returns?"
A few days later and again from the Senate floor, coward Reid proclaimed, "So, the word's out that he hasn't paid any taxes for 10 years. Let him prove that he has paid taxes, because he hasn't."
Columnist Arnold Ahlert observes, "Note the despicable tactic to which Harry Reid has resorted. He makes an unsubstantiated allegation -- one that could be made about virtually anything -- and then claims the burden is on Romney to prove that the allegation is untrue."
So, if I claimed someone told me that Harry Reid moonlights as a transvestite Marilyn Monroe impersonator in Vegas, by Reid's distorted proof standard, the burden is on him to prove otherwise.
Ahlert concludes, "This is the stuff of banana republics and totalitarian regimes, but the Senate Majority Leader does it anyway, knowing that his media allies are more than willing to keep the story alive, and that other Democrats will rally to his side."
And, they did, of course.
House Minority Leader Pelosi asserted, "Harry Reid made a statement that is true. Somebody told him. It is a fact. Whether he did or not can easily be disposed of: Mitt Romney can release his tax returns and show whether he paid taxes."
Please note the verbal gymnastics coward Pelosi must perform for her to avoid prosecution for slander. Yes, Reid might have made a "statement that is true" -- it's just not this one. Yes, "somebody told him" -- something about anything at any time. And, yes, releasing Romney's tax returns would definitely dispose of Leftist demands that Romney release his tax returns. However, none of these statements directly repeats Reid's slanderous allegation.
Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz also received the Leftist memo: "I do know that Mitt Romney could clear this up in 10 seconds by releasing the 23 years of tax returns that he gave to John McCain when he was being vetted for vice president."
Like Pelosi, to avoid prosecution coward Schultz does not directly restate Reid's slanderous allegation.
For the record, Mitt Romney has released tax returns for the last two years, but hypocritically Reid, Pelosi and Wasserman have refused to release their tax records, which might shed light upon how they have increased their net worth by tens of millions of dollars while in Congress.
Of course, this classist playbook challenge emanates directly from Barack Hussein Obama himself, the grand wizard of the politics of disparity. When his White House mouthpiece Jay Carney was asked about Reid's cowardly ploy, he insisted that Reid "speaks for himself." Then Carney proceeded to restate the challenge: "You know, [releasing private information isn't] every candidate's favorite part of the process, but it's a tradition that's important. It's valuable to the American people as they decide who should be president."
Obama's 1991 literary agent listingWAIT -- take a moment to ponder that last comment. The release of private information by a presidential candidate "is valuable to the American people as they decide who should be president."
OK.
That's a rather bold statement for a guy who's boss didn't release even his birth certificate until three years after he was elected president, and then what was finally released wasn't the original long-form 1961 Hawaiian birth certificate. Of course, Obama has used the birth certificate issue to masterfully divert an incalculable amount of conservative political capital -- capital that should have been invested in far more relevant questions about his socialist ideology.
Moreover, there's a long list of documents, "valuable to the American people as they decide who should be president," which I still want Obama to release.
I want to see records regarding his repatriation when he returned from Indonesia; name change from Barry Sotero to Barack Hussein Obama; Punahou School, Occidental College and Columbia University (all three of which could show he illegally applied for aid as a foreign student, among other things); Columbia senior thesis; Harvard Law School; years in the Illinois State Senate; membership in the Illinois State Bar Association; medical; and, finally, his passport and visa records.
Obama has refused to release any of these files, and has paid millions of dollars in legal fees to suppress them. Any one of them would likely provide plenty of evidence to raise questions about Obama's qualifications to run for president of the United States -- or to be re-elected to that post.
For example, let's focus on just one of the sets that Obama refuses to release -- his Columbia records. A Columbia class of '83 colleague, author and former Libertarian Party vice-presidential nominee Wayne Allyn Root, says he never saw or heard of Obama even though they were in the same political science and pre-law program. He also says that if Obama's Columbia records were released, one might find that he "attended Columbia as a foreign exchange student and paid little [tuition for Columbia] or Harvard Law School because he illegally applied for foreign aid."
Adding to the Obama enigma, a Wall Street Journal report filed back when Obama was a candidate, "Obama's Lost Years," noted that "some 400 of his classmates [were randomly contacted] but no one ... remembered him."

What we do know about Obama is that he had a tragic young life, despite his official White House bio that begins, "His story is the American story -- values from the heartland, a middle-class upbringing in a strong family..." We know Obama was a disciple of hate and mentored by Marxists.
What we also know is that the combination of these factors adds up to a case study in Narcissistic Personality Disorder -- a very dangerous pathological condition particularly for anyone in a position of power.
The bottom line is that in the first presidential debate, when Obama challenges Romney to release his tax records, Romney should respond with a long list of sealed files that Obama should release. After all, didn't Obama claim, immediately upon taking office, that his administration would be "the most open and transparent in history"?
In regard to Reid's cowardly classist play, at least one noted Democrat has shown enough integrity to call it what it is.
David Rothkopf, CEO and editor-at-large of the FP Group (publishers of Foreign Policy Magazine), declared, "I have voted Democrat all my life. I served in the Clinton administration and worked for a Democratic congressman on Capitol Hill. I deplore these tactics. When Harry Reid goes on the floor of the Senate and makes assertions like he did, he demeans the institution. As my old boss, the late Ron Brown, the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, used to say, 'You can't be for jobs and against the people who create them.' Every time you hear a politician sling mud at an opponent rather than addressing a real issue, recognize that you're the one being dissed. Then do us all a favor and vote your anger."

I have a Capital idea. the Conservative Supreme Court declined to hear a case about birth records, For us it a rallying point. Have Obama release, Mitt release, and be done with it. We are playing into there hands.the more Mitt is being played about Romney care and taxes, the less the people will view the real issues. Quit playing to the base, go for the undecided voters. To them it looks like a corporate raider has something to hide.

Regarding FAIR TAXES why aren't more people yelling for the federal DEPENDENTS to get off thei front stoop of their government housing and work so they CAN PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE? There are some jobs for those who REALLY WANT TO WORK!

I agree too. Furthermore, Obama has said repeatedly, that we all must play by the same rules, yet he advocates just the opposite in tax policy, housing policy, immigration policy, entitlements, education policy, etc, etc, etc.
Let's face it, Obama speaks out of both sides of his mouth, just like a snake oil salesman. His goal, for whatever reason, is to engender dependency and weaken the nation by weakening us.

If we all have to play by the same rules then I think that Obummer should give the money to take a 14 million dollar vacation in Hawaii just like he did at the taxpayers expense.

LeRoy, You're correct, but as many examples of Obama's hypocrisy that you can think of, someone else can think of another, and another, and another... Obama falls under the category of person who insists, 'don't do as I do. Do as I say'. He is the ultimate hypocrite - the ultimate con-man. And in this sense, he is no different from a skid-row hustler trying to sweet talk his way into a woman's panties, except that Obama is trying to screw an entire nation.

While I agree with your views because I think all federal welfare programs should stop, I can testify that the job market is horrible right now. People state that if these idiots would just go out and get a degree then they could get a job obviously don't understand what it is like to be impoverished. You are forced to work at a very young age to pay your bills. It makes college a difficult proposition.

I agree with Bill Ragan's comment. I would also add that Obama release the Fast and Furious documents too. Obama who said that his administration would be "transparent" has done nothing but cover up. He does not love America. I hope he is out of Washington, D.C. come January 2013.

Seems to me that BHO has already had the IRS look at Mitt's tax returns. Not directly of course, but I'm sure he has moles everywhere. If there were anything out of line, it would have been leaked by now. Or maybe, highly likely, BHO doesn't have anyone who would understand these complicated documents.
Adrien Nash in Crescent City, CA

You are correct that he has moles everywhere, or else he has an appointee of such high rank that he can examine anything, and even make changes, -as was done to the website of the former INS (now called CIS). After I discovered an obscure page that delineated citizenship in terms of 1. naturalized 2. native-born 3. natural born , and I shared that information online and it became known through attorney Leo Donofrio writing about it, then guess what happened? Suddenly that web page vanished, the url led to "Error 404 Requested page not found". It wasn't some low-level person that would have done that, because there would be no reason to change the web address of such a otherwise rarely accessed page. But change it someone did. So I searched for it and was able to relocate it. Learn more about this page http://www.uscis.gov/ilink/docView/SLB/HTML/SLB/0-0-0-1/0-0-0-45077/0-0-0-48575.html and its significance by visiting my homepage at obama--nation.com
Similarly, back in 2008 all links to the SCOTUS case of Minor v Happersett (1875) -which described natural citizenship, were altered, broken, or removed from the Justia.com legal research website. And that was even before anyone was ruminating that Obama was not a natural born citizen as the Constitution requires. So the conspiracy to make him appear to be legitimate precedes his rise to power and even his acquisition of the Democrat nomination.

This is what we get for banning duels. In the old days, Romney would have met Reid in a pasture somewhere near DC and shot him dead for this kind of loathsome lie. There is, of course, the model of Preston Brooks, but I would not treat a good walking stick so poorly.

Any half-wit American knows that the burden of proof is upon the accuser. This is how it has always been. What Harry Reid has done, and continues to do, should get him thrown out of the senate at his very next election cycle, at a minimum.
I've commented before, that if conservatives succeed in throwing out Obama and retake the congress, we really need to take the opportunity to clean house and reform ourselves. Our government should not be the personal playground for ambitious politicians who can't or won't separate their ambitions from their duties.
Neither senators, nor anyone else, should be able to shield themselves from telling lies. Nor should the president be able to scuttle law via executive order. Nor should should he be able hide from challenges via executive privilege. Nor should law be created that doesn't apply equally to everyone, including the congress and administration. These are but a few examples of how we need to clean up our act. 100 percent accountability should be our goal. We must insist on this reform and if it happens, it will take a lot of work, rewarding work.

The Republicans desparately need for Mitt and his minions to blast Obama and demand publication of all the 'frozen' documents. Publish them and demand all to see the real truth. I believe the Liar in Chief was born outside this country and is ineligible to run for another term. We need to see some heavy blasting of the Democrats. Use ads with phrases like "liar, liar, pants on fire" with a cartoon of Reid and Ob with firey pants. Keep this ad on the TV constantly. You don't want a psycotic liar as president. Dick

Amen to your smart call to hammer Obama's lies relentlessly. But "frozen" documents? -more like HIDDEN, "LOST", DESTROYED. Mr. Obama, please prove to a neutral party that all of your documents have not been destroyed. But why would he not destroy them in order to defend against their release by an insider who might leak them, a la the reverse of the criminal leaks from the White House damaging national security but making Obama look tough & smart.
If you were Obama, wouldn't you sleep better at night by knowing that the damning documents that he would want to be under lock & key are instead no longer in existence? After all, why not do to them what he did to the record of all international flights into Hawaii during the reported week of his birth (the first week of August 1961)? Just make them disappear and then he could sleep like a baby.
If he didn't get his flying monkeys to disappear them, then he would always be under the cloud of the possibility of a future Republican administration investigating them and exposing him. Who would want that cloud over their head, and why not do something about it as long as you have the authority and influence to convince your minions to help you out? So the call of Republicans should not be a call to release his documents but firstly a call to prove that they still even exist. That call implies the damning possibility that they contained some very politically embarrassing information (embarrassing by revealing him to be incompetent, a career American Marxist, a concealer of the truth, and a liar about his actions and history) along with the implication that he is of such low character that he probably would destroy them if he could. Both implications are spot on.

I have thought the same thing. What is to keep some future researcher to use the FOIA to demand these documents. Or, wouldn't they be housed in an Obama Presidential Library? Obama cannot affoard for them to ever see the light of day.
Another thing that worries (scares, actually) me...Obama cannot afford to lose this election because with Holder out as AG, there is no one to protect BO for indictment, impeachment, or whatever is appropriate. So, what is he planning to do to stay in office? In a fair election, Romeny will win in a landslide.

It's probably true that Romney's people have flab where muscle should be, and won't mount an adequate attack campaign, but there is the back-up group of the super-pac. They can run their own ads and can't consult with Romney about what's in them. They may be the best hope that the important swing states can be swung to the Republican side in order to get the required number of electoral votes needed to win the election. We need super-pac ads that are truly Super! When it comes to fighting against a dirty political opponent, you can't shine too much light or spray too much bleach. obama--nation.com

As a retired service member who has dealt with Top Secret material, I was required, along with my family members, to initially undergo an FBI background investigation with a back-up investigation every four years. I am to understand that candidates for POTUS are not required to undergo any investigation. I believe that if Barack Obama was required to provide results of any Background Investigation,(BI), the results would clear up any question of his eligibility.

I find it incomprehensible that an individual who would not receive a basic security clearance for handling routine documents based on a National Agency Check (NAC), is now Commander in Chief. Now you're talking. Obama could not possibly pass the "Yankee White" security background investigation required of everyone responsible for guarding the President with a loaded weapon, or for having access to, and control over nuclear weapons. They must be natural born citizens. -NO foreign fathers.
Indira Ghandi, the PM of India (daughter of Nehru [I encountered them both once as they were being given a tour of Disneyland by Walt Disney]) had Indian Secret Service guards who were not vetted the way they should have been, and one of them took her out with his automatic weapon. Imagine being killed by one who is responsible to take a bullet for you? Such a possibility is why vetting is so important. But we've given authority over all of our federal government and all of its civilian and military personnel to one who has never been vetted, and never will be except by relentless patriotic rebels who care about the truth, the rule of law, freedom, and the Constitution.
