Pulling the Plug on our Constitution

Our Constitution is on life support, and House Democrats are about to pull the plug.
Leaders of the Democrat Party ("Progressives" as they call themselves, Leftists as we call them) have been unable to garner popular or even Democrat Party support for their plan to socialize our health care system. Fortunately, Republicans are united in their opposition to this one issue.
Barack Hussein Obama, titular head of the Demos, proclaimed, "I want some courage. I want us to do the right thing."
But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi concludes, "Nobody wants to vote for the Senate bill."
She originally proposed to overtly circumvent our Constitution by way of Rep. Louise Slaughter's "self-executing rule," which would allow the House to accept the already-passed Senate health care bill by presumption alone, thus negating a formal up-or-down vote by House members.
Pelosi confessed, "I like it because people don't have to vote on the Senate bill."
In the end, Pelosi bowed to public pressure not to "self-execute" and her minions submitted to an up or down vote.
Most of the Leftist-controlled political and popular debate about the Democrat proposal to turn over to the central government control of more than 17 percent of the U.S. economy, is focused on one question or another -- what will it cost or save, who will pay and who won't, who will be covered and for what, will there be enough physicians to support this in 10 years, will federal funds be used for abortion, can our economy afford another trillion dollar boondoggle, does it really address the entitlement cost tsunami we're facing, ad infinitum.
These might be interesting topics for debate, but none are germane.
The only relevant debate must begin with First Principles, our Constitution and Rule of Law.
Does our Constitution allow the Executive and Legislative branches to collaborate to confer authority upon the federal government over, in this case, so-called "health care reform"?
Those who laid the Foundation of our Constitution were crystal clear about its enumeration of both the authority and limits upon the central government.
James Madison, our Constitution's primary author, wrote, "The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined [and] will be exercised principally on external objects, as war, peace, negotiation and foreign commerce."
Madison continued, "If Congress can do whatever in their discretion can be done by money, and will promote the General Welfare, the Government is no longer a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one, subject to particular exceptions."
(And regarding all those "exemptions" and "exceptions" for members of Congress, I draw your attention to James Madison's words in Federalist No. 57: "If this spirit shall ever be so far debased as to tolerate a law not obligatory on the legislature, as well as on the people, the people will be prepared to tolerate any thing but liberty.")
Thomas Jefferson asserted: "[G]iving [Congress] a distinct and independent power to do any act they please which may be good for the Union, would render all the preceding and subsequent enumerations of power completely useless. It would reduce the whole [Constitution] to a single phrase, that of instituting a Congress with power to do whatever would be for the good of the United States; and as sole judges of the good or evil, it would be also a power to do whatever evil they please. Certainly, no such universal power was meant to be given them. [The Constitution] was intended to lace them up straightly within the enumerated powers and those without which, as means, these powers could not be carried into effect."
Clearly, our Constitution, does not authorize Congress to nationalize health care, anymore than it authorizes Congress to do most of what it does today.
That notwithstanding, Obama and his Leftist cadres in the House and Senate are moving forward with their endeavor to inflict socialized medicine upon the United States.
They have again, one and all, abandoned their oaths to "support and defend" our Constitution.
Democrat "leaders" have all been questioned about constitutional authority, and have uniformly asserted that the question is irrelevant.
Typical of their non-responses was this indignant question from Speaker Pelosi: "Are you serious? Are you serious?"
Such utter contempt for our Constitution explains why Democrats refuse to support any measure to cite constitutional authority for legislation. For example, the Enumerated Powers Act (HR 1359) would require that "Each Act of Congress shall contain a concise and definite statement of the constitutional authority relied upon for the enactment of each portion of that Act," but for years, insurmountable obstacles have prevented passage of HR 1359 -- and you know who they are.
Circumventing Rule of Law (see the larger version).As for the Slaughter Solution, Article 1 Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution stipulates, "Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, and that in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively."
Typical of Republican protests about this effort to evade the Constitution's prescription for passage of legislation, Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) called the ruse "the acme of arrogance" and the "shredding the U.S. Constitution."
Unfortunately, more than a few Republicans have dabbled in such unconstitutional chicanery. Thus, I am reminded of the admonition regarding hypocrisy in Matthew 7:4-5. In contemporary terms, Republicans must first demonstrably abide by First Principles before calling on Democrats to do the same.
The only silver lining to this cloud: If Democrats pass ObamaCare, every medical complaint by a Democrat constituent will be hung around their necks.

Subject: Healthcare the 2700 page unconstitutional law of 2010
Dear Sir,
I address this letter to Senator Richard Burr, Senator John McCain, Senator Kay Hagan, & Congressman Michael McIntyre.
I find it disturbing that our representation in Washington DC even considers healthcare a constitutional right. Nowhere is there any such stipulation. I for one should know since I defended the constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. In fact our wonderful Congress in 1996 decided to break its promise on military healthcare for retirees by forcing us to pay cost sharing when we paid it with our blood and sacrifice for over 20 years. The fact is democrats have never cared about military healthcare and this year is no exception. They instead spend all of their time and the taxpayer’s money recreating Medicare and disguise it as a new program without the means to pay for it. Meanwhile, Tricare is the epitome of healthcare rationing and denial of coverage for numerous claims at the expense of those who served.
Lately, I understand there is such a lack of moral courage and intestinal fortitude that we would resort to the “slaughter method” procedure. In this way there is no accountability or direct vote. I have one word for this in military vocabulary. Cowards, that is what you are if you subscribe to this procedure. In the military they believe that cowards should be “shot or hung”. Maybe if Congress had those standards they as a group would never dream of such nonsense as the methods discussed on national cable network news.
Has it occurred to Congress that the people will stand up to this tyranny and put an end either peacefully or not to all enemies domestic. Making the entire country pay for 22 million uninsured is generational theft. Stealing is a crime. Taxation without representation is unconstitutional. I believe in all my heart a huge movement is coming in November. A movement so severe that no politician will ever see it coming. You see we the people are tired of being ignored. Taking advantage of those who work with our busy schedules by sliding this bill under our noses with fuzzy math and hidden tax increases as far as the eye can see will wake up a sleeping giant. The Japanese made this mistake in WWII and they got nuked. It is time for the political nukes to be unleashed. Any incumbent who did not stand up and fight with all their might will be held to account. Why you ask? Because chapter 11 bankruptcy for America is coming! China is pulling out their money in the treasury as a message. The lies from the CBO with their fuzzy math does not fool the people.
Repackaging Medicare and Medicaid version 2 is like putting lipstick on a pig. The bill is still a pig filled with pork of all kinds. A special sausage making that could only come from the top. The irony of the entire bill is the provisions for union medical Cadillac plans. Irony because this is the same Congress who cancelled the F22 and laid off 181,000 union workers of the IAM. I wonder how much the unemployment and lost tax revenue that cost all of the states and US treasury by that brilliant decision. The 63 billion lost in research and development to go with it. The fact that the IAM was willing to cut wages to make the plane cheaper than 350 million each. Hmmm, the same fuzzy math that led us to spend another 17 billion on unemployment benefits without paying as we go. It’s no wonder that we never did what FDR had done in WWII. Has the word war bonds come to mind? But instead like the Dod we run the budget like Enron with little or no accountability. I called the IAM since I am the son of a former union boss who was a conservative Democrat. I asked them to come to Washington with their unemployed aerospace workers and picket the white house. After all it was the leadership who said the plane was a waste of money. My friend freedom isn’t free and the F15 is 35 years old. Our enemies are laughing as they build T50 aircraft while we drawdown our airforce in the middle of a war. When our country is bombed due to lack of air superiority how much will that cost? 9/11 was 85 billion for just 2 twin towers not including the human life. 187 planes does not an air force make. So instead we spend 2 trillion for another unfunded liability.
You might say I am on a tangent but then again after 14 months of listening on the airwaves to Congress talk about this bill you can take the time to listen to a veteran even if he doesn’t ask for 8 minutes of your time like I heard the general was denied today. It’s no wonder the military has a bad taste in their mouth from politicians.
Mitt Romney had it right when he said the states should decide this issue of healthcare. He used the free market instead of the government to pay for it. There were no free rides. My suggestion is to look at models that have succeeded in several states and let them do it themselves. The federal government should focus on regulatory issues instead that cost little or nothing that can be agreed upon inside 30 days. Issues like pre existing conditions when someone was unemployed changing jobs. Issues like buying across state lines. A pool for small businesses to draw from so they can have lower rates like big companies do. Tax incentives for small business to have benefits.
It is not too late to end this 14 month boondoggle of a bill with 2700 pages of waste. The people want you to act on the exact issues I just stated. They do not want a 2 trillion liability. Wake up and smell the coffee please. I’m sorry if I have offended anyone but after 14 months of this I feel violated. As for Medicare you can raise the tax rate to make it sustainable and hire private industry to investigate the fraud, waste and abuse which will only increase if this current healthcare bill is passed. Honestly, you don’t think we haven’t figured all this out by now?
I have 5 children all of voting age and I can assure you that any politician who votes yes for this bill along with me and my wife will ensure they never set foot in office again. You will be voted into the soup line where you belong. If you’re mad after reading this letter then I have succeeded in making you look into the mirror. If you voted against this fiasco then regardless of party you know that we the normal Americans who pay taxes and are not rich are fed up with business as usual. Massachusetts figured it out. New jersey figured out. Virginia as well. Maybe after this you can figure out the math. There is no escape and “deeming a bill passed” is political suicide plain and simple. It’s your decision and yours and yours alone. My only question is why did it take a career military NCO to wake you up? I encourage you to pass this onto your friends so they see how the people really think and what the outcome will be as a direct result of your current decision making paradyne.

What is our, the citizens, remedy when Congress violates the Constitution? I know we can and should vote them out but surely there must be other action when the law of the land is violated? Short of another revolution, without taking that off the table!

I actually had a friend say to me, when I told her passing this without a vote was unconstitutional: "I see your point. But, I personally find it more unconstitutional to let Americans die due to lack of health care coverage...whatever happened to 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness'? If you're dead because insurance companies are too greedy or the government is too apathetic to provide health care as a basic right, then you're not going to be able to pursue happiness very successfully!"

The hypocracy and haughtiness of Congress and the current Administration are evident for all to see. Special mention to the current Chief Executive who ran with such "pretty" vague words, kindling hope for transparency, fiscal responsibility and positive "change" in Washington. HAH!!
Sadly, this hypocracy and haughty behavior is not confined to either one of the two major political parties, but endemic to Washington. There is no honor evident in Washington, and States Rights seem to be the only answer.
"Deem" this garbage "passed" at your own political peril, Congress, and sentence yourselves to the ever-increasing junk-heap of those who have made themselves irrelevant.

Mark, it’s clear that the Dems don’t give a rip what the majority of America thinks. Yes, we can hope to vote their sorry asses out in November, but what can we do NOW? Phone calls to them appear to be a waste of time. If this crap passes and is signed into law, how long would it take to get this into court and run all the way up the ladder to the Supreme Court? Hopefully, it would get there BEFORE a new court appointee who is sure to be a left leaning wacko. Please advise.

The Constitution requires that Members of Congress take an oath "to support this Constitution." The oath is not specified in detail, but the oath currently used says the member will "support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign or domestic." The President's oath is specified in the Constitution. He must swear to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution." In my view, the President's oath is more sweeping. He has the highest obligation in the land to defend the Constitution and our Liberty. Our current President seems intent on destroying, not proserving, the Constitution, and as quickly as possible.

God help us. I am 76 yrs old, the wife of an Air Force veteran. I did what all kids did during WW II to help our country. My husband enlisted when the Korean War (not conflict, men died for this country)to serve his country. We became a military family to do what we could.
I never thought I would live to see this day. I pray there are enough strong people to get through this horror. What can we do with these "Progressives"? Please wake up and VOTE.

If the President and the Democrats are gutting the Constitution, are there any steps that could be taken by Republicans in office, or Governors to have the US Supreme court make a ruling on the constitutionality of what Obama is doing?
Also, is there any legal precedence that would allow the US Supreme Court to initiate a decision on their part as to what Obama is doing to the Constitution?
one last question: Could the Republicans in both the Senate and the House walk out of Congress, declare Obama's Administration as being an outlaw government and establish a shadow Congress outside of Capitol Hill?

Here is my question, IF this passes, and it proabably will, since they're so determined to put this into practice...how long would it take before we see the trickle down results? Would it effect us immediately, or would it take a while to implement all the changes, etc?

Your use of the words of the Founding Fathers to frame the case adds even more weight to your well-considered arguments. Clearly, the Obama administration and 111th Congress are usurping powers not granted to them by the Constitution and every move is one of government takeover of the private sector and tyranny replacing liberty. As you said, it is up to the citizens to bring the ship of state back on course.

The Patriot Post is one of the few venues that keep me sane now days.
We have a President who has said in so many words he doesn't care how Congress passes what he wants just so long as they pass it, even if how they do it is unconstitutional. We have Congressional Leadership that is so intellectual and ethically corrupt that they make many past Congresses look like they were Puritans. So when are they going to propose repealing the entire Constitution? That would assuming they are intellectually or morally honest when they have clearly demonstrated otherwise. Of course if they ignore it and "we the people" do not respond appropriately during the next several election then it really won't matter we will have repealed it through out inaction.

I think Pelosi and company will pass this no matter how vile the process needs to be. What will happen next is a full fledged revolt by the states. I read today that 36 states have passed or have drafted legislation that will exempt them from this legislation. There's the line in the sand people. States rights and the tenth amendment.

Health is not a right. It is a personal responsibility.
Health care is not a right. It is a commodity.
Health insurance is not a right. It is a financial risk management tool.
Those who try to equate the Constitutional right of "life" with health, heath care, health insurance have got it completely wrong. The Constitution does not guarentee that the federal government will provide you with life. Instead it guarentees that the federal government will not take life away from you. Unless the government has done something to your health that resulted in the loss of your life, then you have no claim against the government, or a right to its monies (which come from taxes). If you fail to take personal responsibility for your health (proper diet, exercise, life style, etc.), that ain't the government's fault. Its your fault and you should bear the burden.
If, for some bizarre reason, you can find a Constitutional requirement for providing health insurance to every citizen of this nation, then haven't we been violating the Constitution for nearly the first 130+ years of it's existance? It wasn't until the late 1920's that the first comprehensive group heath insurance policies were issued in America. Before roughly the 1850's even rudimentary health insurance did not exist. Today roughly 10% of Americans are uninsured (by choice or economic situation). I say "So what!" One hundred years ago nearly 100% of Americans were uninsured...because that financial risk management tool did not exist.

Is there not one Democrat in the that will stand against this atrocity? Where is the Frank Capra/Jimmy Stewart Mr. Smith and address this travesty? As another Army brother who swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, I was disgusted that not a single Democrat voted to convict President Clinton of the impeachment charges of obstruction of justice, indeed, not one came to look at the assembled evidence. The Democrats are moving beneath contempt with this latest machination.

I DO vote, Ms. Short, but doubt anyone's vote will ever have any significant effect until we have gotten to the root of the problem (which is truly omnipresent). The whole point of the article is the Federal government will do anything they can get away with. It rigs the elections, and when there's no legal way to do what it wants, it finds an illegal way. We shouldn't give up on voting, but still, it would be unthinkable for our government to just stop cheating us (or lying to us, stealing from us, etc.) on its own. These are grim times.
Anyway, will the editor please correct "Democrat Party" to "Democratic Party;" it sounds, as best, provincial, but more likely, vulgar. Its members may often stoop to name-calling, but let's not do the same. We're better.

If you read the Federalist No 33 you would understand some of there options. Did you fill out your Census? Are you going to pay your Income Taxes?

That said, I must respectfully add that the issue, for those pushing this Bill, is really not health care, but power and a framework which will allow for the liberalizing of our Constitution. The people behind this clandestine effort mean to, through obfuscation, liberalize and undermine our Constitution all the while diverting attention by deluding the public into believing that the issue is their "well being" and "health care". So far they have been quite successful as most folks are focusing on the false target - a well orchestrated diversion - while ignoring the really serious issue of an attack on our Constitution which will result in the diminution of our individual freedoms. One simply has to note how those in Congress are, without regard for convention, attempting to manipulate our accepted system using questionable methods such as "deeming", etc. to cram this Bill through in total disregard for the procedures laid down by the Constitution. It's the old sleight of hand trick, watch the health care hand while the attack on our founding document is slipped through out of sight. The health care debate is a sham, we must keep our eyes on the real target. There is no question that health care needs attention, but the embryonic monstrosity of a Bill being proposed is not the answer - it will result in the slow erosion of the freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution if allowed to pass.

The Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves!!!! Thank God they had the foresight to include the 2nd Amendment to the Bill of Rights so that Patriots could defend themselves when the day of reckoning arrives. Somehow, over 200 years ago, they knew this day would come. What vision they had knowing men and women like O'Bama and Pelosi could not be trusted with the freedom the Constitution would bestow upon them and would abuse that freedom to take over the country. Let us hope and pray that "O'BAMACARE" and the rest of this craziness can be stopped and some sanity restored (I would suggest following the Constitution, it has worked pretty well for over 200 years) before all hell breaks loose in this country.

Any who support this power grab should and must be fired from their current positions in Congress. That is one step.
The next and simultaneous step is to elect or 'hire' conservatives - fiscal and Constitutional conservatives and constructionists - to take the place of those who would subvert the Constitution. Personally, I do not care if those hired are Republicans, Democrats or any other party, as long as they have as their ultimate guide, the Constitution as it was originally written, and have the guts to back up their rhetoric with their actions.
Third, a new amendment needs to be offered and passed to the Constitution. That amendment needs to define a specific process for recall of elected 'officials' from the President through the most junior of Representatives by the people. These clowns will not police themselves. The people must have more control over them or this situation will happen again and again.
Finally, We the People need to read the history books that are being used to teach our children and make absolutely sure that the history taught is the history true. Be involved in the education of your children, people. Your children will create the world you will live in during your old age. Our parents and grandparents did not watch what we were doing in the 50's and 60's and 70's closely enough. They allowed their children, now in Congress, to become radicals, apparently thinking that they would 'grow out of it'. Some did and became conservatives. Some did not and became the radical Boxers, and Pelosis and Reids, and now we are reaping the 'rewards' of this negligence.

I actually tried to read through parts of this bill. Look what I found on page 1321 of the proposed legislation (seriously - look it up at http://democrats.senate.gov)...
“…there are authorized to be appropriated $125,000,000 for fiscal year 2010, and such sums as may be necessary for each of fiscal years 2011 through 2014”.
“And such sums as be necessary”? How can you account for that? How can you budget for that? How can you PAY for that when you don’t even know what ‘that’ is going to be??? How can they talk of deficit reduction and then vote for something like this whose costs cannot possibly be estimated with such vague language?
Time for this madness to end. How can We The People go about starting impeachment proceedings? Seriously - what charges can be brought and who would have to go about bringing them? I have had enough of Washington telling me what's best for me. I don't need, nor do I desire a nanny state!!

Of all the factors that have made this a great and prosperous country, the most important one by far has been our Constitution, the greatest political document ever devised by man (and one that could only have been produced by a Christian nation). The current crop of radical leftists have made it clear that they have no use for our Constitution for the very reason that it imposes limitations on their power which makes everything they have done since January 20 (actually, it goes back much farther than that) unconstitutional. That explains why they pretend that questioning what part of the Constitution sanctions their policies is an irrelvant question. That attitude is an outrage. It should be enough by itself to cause a total rejection of the Democrats by every thinking and sane American. Unfortunately, all this far left, unconstitutional behavior by the Democrats was perfectly predictable last November. What this election proved is the failure of our educational system. An educated electorate would have defeated them in every state and in every Congressional race. It is little wonder that our educational system has sunk to such "stupidnous" lows. It is dominated by liberals. Liberal professors are brainwashing gullible and impressionable students. Parents are sending their children to college to become stupid, not educated. They are being indoctrinated with far left, communist thinking. Our public schools are doing much the same thing and are particularly good at turning kids from Christian homes into atheists via the false religion known as evolution. (Real science has disproven evolution many times over, but our "educated" classes refuse to acknowledge it.) The fact that most Americans seem to have no clue that our Constitution is being destroyed shows the failure of American education. Judeo-Christian parents would be smart to abandon the public schools and colleges en masse until they are restored to a conservative, Biblically based curriculum (which none of us are going to see in our lifetimes). We need to wake up and see who America's real enemies are--the leftest media, leftist politicians, leftist indoctrinators, and especially the kind of clueless, judgment-less people who elected the likes of Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Shumer, etc. in the first place. Until we create a smarter electorate, we may be in big trouble for a very long time. It is strange how it occurred to me that I, a totally non-politician, would be a far better president of the United States than the one we have in the White House now. I think I could probably read a telepromter as well as he does. But that is true of almost any conservative with an average degree of common sense and judgment. Oh, yes, and let's add what our Founding Fathers felt was an indispensible other qualification: Judeo-Christian values and morals based on those found in the Holy Bible.

Its funny... i don't have any of the objections many of you do... altho a lot of them DO make sense to me... my major malfunction with this "bill" is that ... who is going to pay for it?
One does not get anything for free. Medicare/SS is "free" in the sense that supposedly we are paying INTO the system with our paychecks... and once we "retire" we get to draw on that because.... we paid in. That ACTUALLY makes sense... well... it makes sense if they actually kept/invested/kept seperate those "donations".... but... alas... they did not... and now wonder why a LARGE slice of the "pie" on the back page of every federal tax return pamphlet is .... Medicare and Social Security.
I mean seriously... if the boomers who have been working for the last 50 years have been paying in... how could there possibly be not enough? after all the BOOMERS were a BUNCH of people paying in... should be a boatload of money no?
Fact is... i LOVE the thought of govt. health care... it makes sense... how much bigger a motivating push can you give business other than you will have no bussiness unless you play w/ us? Its the ultimate hand... its like going into a poker hand in Vegas knowing you are going to get a royal flush... except... sadly... it doesn't work like that. SO... we have to pay for it... because we don't want to push business out right? They provide jobs and stuff.
In the end... we will have to pay for it... and i don't see HOW we can pay for it if we can't even manage medicare... the true reforms would be centered on how come a q-tip costs 24 bucks... or how someone in a hospital gets charged 30 grand for 6 days. I mean six days in a room... i better have virgins marched in there every day for 30k... maybe like 3 times a day or something.
Its idiotic that the only "technology" that hasn't gone down in price with its relative normality is health care. heck wasn't too long ago that a plasma TV was 12k for "only" 40 inches... now... its a LOT less... THAT is what i'd have my govt. figure out... to me it amounts to when Gas stations "gouge" people for gas flee'ing a hurricane. It's just happened incrementally... so everyone thinks its normal. (heck they are even already "getting ready" for future increases!)
Govt. take over of health care is not required... whats required is to figure out why a profession/services of the profession have done nothing but grow out of proportion to thier real cost. My first thought is ... medicare... it provided a base line for care, the insurance companies knew they could charge there and above... after that... it was gravy baby....
the "cost" of health care these days is so over inflated that the brit's of all people have somehow managed to keep thier per person rate at 2500 a year... vs. ours at 6k... I'm sure govt. NHS had something to do with that... (pay or don't play) but even that is probably too much. Insurance companies make profit ... its what they do. What if health care didn't require them... (it didn't used to) the whole reason insurance (health) came into being was because it became too exspensive for an avg person to pay for eventualities. who do you blame for that?
I have to get a loan for a house... i have to get a loan for a car... they are too expensive for the avg person to pay for w/ cash unless you drive beaters (and i know some who do) Used to be you built a house. Now you get a mortgage or you rent (lease) used to be you bought a car ... now you rent (lease) them. we've all bought into a system that makes sure we are beholden to someone.
I rekon Health is next. You could say we have a new lease on life...

I made a contribution to Patriot Post last year due to the great job that you do BUT the size was determined by your representatives announcement that the Post was going to do a Constitutional challenge in the near future (this was about 6 months ago). I also told her I would solicit for your effort as soon as this was announced but have heard nothing else since then. Was this correct? Can you think of a better time? or subject(s)? The health care plan AND the way they portend to pass it are great targets. All analysts, newsletters, foundations, and other groups have inundated me with enough rhetoric to sink a battleship on how unconstitutional all of this is and I TOTALLY AGREE...but isn't it time SOMEONE stepped up to the plate with ACTION to save our great nation?
Why NOT the Patriot Post? If not them, who? Please follow thru on your excellent work with the action it will take to save us and myself and many others will not only contribute, but help solicit WHATEVER funding it will take to follow thru... Every officer and enlisted man in the military service likewise takes this oath. It's time for the U.S. Military Forces to live up to their oath and overthrow these domestic enemies. The Constitution does not provide for the impeachment of members of Congress; it gives Congress itself the power to remove corrupt members. Unfortunately, this does not work when the majority conspire in the same corrupt enterprise.
Many of us do not believe it is safe to wait another two-four years past the next election to finish cleaning out the Senate. Let us organize strikes and sit-ins to protest the rebellion against our Constitution. Yes, we will suffer reduced paychecks. So will the thieves in Washington; they won't have as much to snatch from your paycheck either. If your Senators voted for Obamacare, demand they resign. Picket the airport every time they come and go from Washington. Work only enough to pay the bills and buy groceries. Incur no new debt, but spend the rest of your work hours protesting. Buy nothing but necessities, the rest is probably junk from China anyway.
If this doesn't work, then it's time for an "Orange Revolution." Those who were paying attention may remember when the Ukrainian Orange Party learned through exit polling and other means that the election had been stolen from them. They organized a sit-in that shut down the Ukrainian capital city for months, even into the winter season, until the officials agreed to remedy the situation.
But let us not call our actions "revolution," rather, let us call them "restoration", "reclamation", or "counter-revolution," for we are fighting a cabal of thieves who have stolen power through a revolution in Congress and the White House. Theirs is not yet a revolution of blood, although most of them have the blood of aborted children on their hands. Theirs is a revolution of deceit, for they sold themselves as honorably representing the will of the people in elections as specified by the Constitution, then they turned around and trashed the Constitution they agreed to uphold as a condition of accepting the service to which they were elected.
WE must assert our right to a limited Federal government. But first, let us repent before Almighty God that we failed to trust Him and thank Him for the blessings of liberty we have taken for granted for so many years. Too many Americans have feared, loved, and trusted Government above all things, rather than God, and that is why we are being chastised with bad, anti-American government. Let us pray that in our response we do what is right. If there is to be violence, let us not be the instigators.

What I really think is going to happen is when this is almost passed, and God forbid that happening, President Obama is going to suddenly withdraw it saying it is not representing what the people of the United States want and so we are going to throw it out and start all over again. Presto! He suddenly looks presidential, we all breath a sigh of relief and fall for yet another political ploy. Everyone starts to think his is great again because of this benevolent and responsive act and actually vote him back into office for another 4 years.
We are all so mad at all the representatives who have been lead down the garden path and were pressured to vote for this bill and not represent the people, we vote most of them out of office and now he has a large group of newbies whom he can lead by the nose. All types of legislation gets pushed through that cripples America further and we are left wondering, "What the hell happened? Could he be a mole? What happened to our constitution?" I know, it smacks of paranoia, but really, stranger things have happened. The good thing....this has raised the ire of Americans so much, we are actually looking at our government, how it is working, and what our representatives are voting for and that, is a damn good thing!

Like our military, Congress (and BHO) took an oath of office to uphold the Constitution of the United States. Failure (refusal) to do so is treason. According to the Constitution, the penalty for treason is death by firing squad.
I've been calling representatives to let them know. An (obviously young) aide in one office (Connally, VA) got arrogant with me, "That will never happen." Another aide asked, "Is this a violent call?" No, just letting you know the truth.
As another posted, we need to be protesting in front of their homes. I wouldn't be surprised if, at some point, I wake up one moring to find out that Obama has declared Martial Law to try to keep us silent.

It is deeply disturbing when Democrat stalwarts such as Representative Pelosi and Senator Harry Reid (D, NV) so blithely ignore the Constitution they were sworn to uphold. Indeed when asked by a reporter about the Constitutionality of certain legislation in the House, she responded, “Are you serious?” Or consider hidden provision inserted into the Senate bill by Senator Reid which purports to prohibit future Congresses from amending the Senate “health care” legislation.
But what is even more disturbing is the indifference of Mr. Obama to the U.S. Constitution, which he is also sworn to uphold. Wednesday in an exclusive interview with Brett Baier of Fox News in response to an enquiry about the Slaughter Solution, Mr. Obama stated he was not concerned about procedures, just whether the bill passed the House. This can only be interpreted as a conscious disregard of the Constitutional threshold of any and all federal legislation. Such a position is dangerous and frankly suggestive of autocratic rule.
So my enquiry is quite fundamental. Is this the beginning of the end of our Constitutional Republic?

It comes as no surprise to me that this president and this congress are so clearly ignoring the Constitution. If you listened to what obama said during his campaign, it was clear he has little regard for the rule of law as dictated by the Constitution.
But lets be honest and fair: this is nothing more than a continuation of what was set in motion many years ago with the approval of the Federal Reserve Act which allowed congress to forego their Constitutional responsibility to control the monetary system and established a private banking cartel authorized to make monetary policy for the United States with little, if any, control by Congress.
Take a look at the cabinet level departments of the federal government as it is organized today: A total of 15 departments with more than 1,250,000 employees and a budget of more than two trillion dollars. Of the fifteen departments, I can find no more than 4 (possibly 5 if you count the Dept of Veterans Affairs) that may be authorized by the Constitution. The department of Agriculture? The Dept of Commerce? The dept of Edu? Dept of energy? Dept of health and human services? Dept of housing and urban development? Dept of labor? I seriously doubt any congressman would be able to tell you off the cuff what each of these gargantuan dis-organizations do for the country. Nor where in the Constitution is the federal government authorized to create and fund them?
Also, remember this is the tip of the iceberg since there are many, many additional “agencies” which have many thousand more employees. And this says nothing about the czars that are essentially free to do most anything they wish.
The point is that over the period of years we have allowed our monetary system to be controlled by a group of independent, privately owned, banks with the right to print fiat dollars with no restrictions and no control. And, as such, the congress was able to shift the blame of any deficits created by their uncontrolled spending for larger and larger welfare programs to create a large group of economic slaves who would keep the incumbent politicians in office.
So, obama is just taking advantage of an electorate that had lost track of where our incumbent politicians were taking us and were too busy working to pay much attention to where the country was headed.
Many are awakening to the reality of where we are now that we have elected a president who is determined to destroy the U.S. as we know it.
Ultimately this president, who is pure evil, will lead us down the road of economic ruin, which is by design. I see this president creating an economic crisis which will enable him to declare martial law and essentially become a dictator (depending on how our military reacts). I think this will happen before the November elections since the dems cannot risk losing both the house and senate.
So, at some point, we will all be faced with deciding whether or not to obey an un-Constitutional law. I have personally decided where I will draw the line just as every individual will need to do.
I can only hope that GOD has not completely abandoned us and I pray the rule of law as dictated by the Constitution will prevail.
What little we do know about obama does not bode well for the U.S. What we do NOT know about him would fill a book.

Let's file a class action lawsuit with the Supreme Court by the People of the United States of America versus the completely out of touch Congress who are violating our Constitution with every maneuver they can think of. This is completely despicable!

"Pulling the plug on the constitution" hit the nail on the head. The Republicans should cause an uproar, as should the rest of us. The rest of also need to cause an uproar the next time the Republicans try to pull a scam like this, whenever they get control of anything again. "Slaughter solution" is an appropriate name for what it could do to our basic rule of law and our first freedoms.

Can't the Constitution stand on it's own or has it been weaken to servirely by the despots that claim they know what is better for us? All the while they use every dirty thing they can to enrich themselves. They all shoould be removed from their positions but they wont because of the ignorance of the idiots who keep sending them there.

Why can't "all" the States with a liberal in the Senate and House start impeachment proceedings in protest of their not keeping their oat to protect the Constitution. I was in Cleveland when Kucinish was Mayor and very narrowly kept his office when the Citizens of Cleveland, Ohio demanded an election to throw him out of office. I, personally, stood in the rain at voting booths getting signatures for it. (I had voted for him and felt I was responsible for putting him in office, I should work to get him out.) We got enough signatures to call for another election and he only kept his office by "less than 100" votes. The current Senate and House liberals would become believers then! Even if they won re-election they would go to Washington knowing the "voters" were serious. Hey, it's probably better than the tar and feathers, which was my first thought.

As long as I draw breathe, I will NEVER stop loving my country and trying to support what our Constitution requires of us AND our elected officials.
It is a VERY sad day when officials - who have sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution - FORGET that they are supposed to do this AND answer to the people who elected them.
I have NEVER in my life seen such total disregard to the will of the majority of the people!!! The elected officials are SUPPOSED to answer to US!!! and in November THEY WILL. This arrogance HAS to stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is it so important that this particular expensive legislation i.e. Health Care, become law when our Nation is already in debt up to our necks due to Bank Bail Outs, Auto Industry Bail Outs, billions for a controversial Cap and Trade program, Cash for Clunkers, and trillions in Stimulus Funds that haven't been funded yet. Our Labor Unions are forcing us, the USA, out of a competitive world market and any hope for restoring Balance of Trade with other countries, so other than taxes, how will we get out of debt? The answer, you and I and many generations to come will pay for it assuming we can curb our out of control spending during the same period of time.
What changed to create our current predicament. It started with our people moving away from the Conservative Roots our country was founded on. Our financial success in World Trade created a thirst amongst our people for more money which turned to greed and a push for power and control amongst a growing upper class at the cost of those on the bottom rung of life. Hence the birth of Labor Unions. Now everything seems to have gotten out of hand and we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot trying to fix things. The fly in the ointment seems to be Islam. After the 9/11 Trade Tower attacks in 2001, Islam has become a force to contend with as an ideology driven by who knows what as it moves in for the kill. They see us in our weekened state and now with a Muslim leaning President have found an opened door for conquest.
If you study the Koran you'll understand their strategy and tactical game plan. It says to kill the Infidel (chop off their heads) or tax them into submission. Go back to paragraph one above and see if you can see a corollary. Why is it so important to get this Health Care bill passed? I don't think it's for our best economic interest or our Health unless it pays for amputations above the shoulders.

Some pundits wonder why Democrats would force such a wildly unpopular entitlement program on the American people. "Surely it will lead to another Republican sweep this November and a one term presidency"
The answer: Amnesty. The revolutionary leadership within and behind the Democrat Party know that if "Immigration Reform" - read amnesty - is not passed before November, it won't happen anytime soon. That's why it is next up on the legislative agenda - even before the health care monstrosity is officially signed into law.
Is there any doubt left that the Dem leadership plans to push amnesty through using the same thuggish tactics just employed to pass health care?
Does that mean there be millions of "former" illegal immigrants at the polls in November keeping the radical left in power?

I find it intriguing that the Obama administration would invoke the "commerce clause" to justify "ObamaCare" when health insurance is one of the few things that CAN'T be bought across State lines....I guess it depends on what "interstate" means...
