Breaking the Back of Free Enterprise
"An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy; because there is a limit beyond which no institution and no property can bear taxation." --John Marshall

Folks with extensive training in strategic analysis tend to have a very different viewpoint of the macro-political machinations from that of folks in the trenches who have a more tactical perspective. As such, strategic viewpoints are many times received with great skepticism.
At ground level, for example, one might have a problem with the following strategic analytical conclusion: Barack Hussein Obama's macro agenda to achieve his objective of "fundamentally transforming the United States of America," depends on the success of his plan to break the back of capitalism under the weight of national debt accumulation, and in the ensuing crisis, implement "emergency" government intervention which will, ultimately, replace the last vestiges of free enterprise with a democratic socialist framework (centralized economic planning and regulation with full-spectrum income redistribution).
If that analysis makes you uncomfortable, prepare to become far more so if his agenda succeeds. To avoid a total economic collapse under the burden of trillions of dollars in debt resulting from Obama's spending programs, the Left will implement dramatic tax increases and devalue the dollar (inflate the price of services and commodities).
As one with perhaps excessive formal training in the art of strategic analysis, I can assure you that Obama's plan, as outlined above, is progressing on schedule. Of course, my perspective is influenced by the presupposition that liberty is "endowed by our creator," but as Alexander Hamilton noted, "In disquisitions of every kind there are certain primary truths, or first principles, upon which all subsequent reasoning must depend."
In regard to the failing economy, Obama recently said, "Make no mistake, we are headed in the right direction, but ... we're not headed there fast enough for a lot of Americans."
Many people hear those words and interpret them to mean that we're progressing toward economic recovery. However, the strategic analyst hears that the Left's objective of a socialized economy is just upon the horizon, that Obama and company would like to bring it to dock at a much faster pace and with such forceful momentum to ensure that the "fundamental transformation of America" can't be undone.
House Minority Leader John Boehner gets it. In regard to House Democrats' passage of Obama's so called "economic reform plan," Boehner responded, "The writing is on the wall for President Obama's 'stimulus' policies and everyone -- taxpayers, economists, and the rest of the world -- sees it but him. How much longer are we going to continue with this disastrous spending spree that is scaring the hell out of the American people and piling debt on our kids and grandkids?"
Answer: As long as it takes to fulfill their Leftist agenda.
However, some of the most experienced conservatives did not get it soon enough. In a recent interview, Newt Gingrich admitted, in a self effacing response to a question about Obama's Leftist agenda, that he understood Obama was liberal but "laughed at friends" who suggested he was a Socialist. Now Gingrich says, it is abundantly clear Obama is a Socialist, but why did he, like so many astute political thinkers, miss it?
Perhaps too much Potomac kool-aid and Beltway fumes.
"We had to take some tough steps to pull the country out of the free fall we faced when I took office," says the blame-shifting Obama.
For the record, the current economic debacle began when a group of Jihadi terrorists, who came to the United States on Bill Clinton's watch, attacked our nation: 9/11. That attack crippled the U.S. economy, but the ultimate blow was a crisis of confidence in the U.S. housing and security markets -- a crisis largely driven by Democrat policies and their refusal to rein in the government-sponsored mortgage enterprises known as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
The ensuing financial market collapse in the weeks ahead of the 2008 presidential election resulted in the selection of a charismatic radical Leftist community organizer as president of the United States.
Commenting on the agenda of his newly elected boss, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said infamously, "Never allow a crisis to go to waste." And they haven't.
It is no small irony that on the very day Obama asserted the economy is "headed in the right direction," the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office reported, based on the implementation of Obama's "economic recovery" agenda thus far, that the current accumulation of debt will exceed 100 percent of gross domestic production by 2025, and will total almost twice GDP by 2035. Of course, if one includes the Social Security "lockbox" IOU, the national debt is already 92 percent of GDP.
But not to worry, I suspect our economy will collapse long before our national debt reaches that level. The burden of debt accumulation at current levels makes the current economic problems of socialist European states seem like gnats on an elephant's ... uh, rear.
The CBO report concludes, "Large budget deficits would reduce national saving, leading to higher interest rates, more borrowing from abroad, and less domestic investment -- which in turn would lower income growth in the United States. Growing debt would also reduce lawmakers' ability to respond to economic downturns and other challenges. Over time, higher debt would increase the probability of a fiscal crisis in which investors would lose confidence in the government's ability to manage its budget, and the government would be forced to pay much more to borrow money."In other words, unless Obama's agenda is overturned, the U.S. will one day be a subsidiary of Red China.
On the principles of free enterprise, Obama proclaims, "We already tried the other side's ideas. We already know where their theories led us. And now we have a choice as a nation. We can return to the failed economic policies of the past, or we can keep building a stronger future. We can go backward, or we can keep moving forward. I don't know about you, but I want to move forward."
Obama apparently hopes a majority of Americans have no idea where the Left's theories led in places like the Soviet Union. Unfortunately, he's probably right, given that many of his constituents are little more than sycophantic lemmings, having been sufficiently dumbed down in our government-run education institutions.
Obama's primary co-conspirator in this extra-constitutional folly to undermine the economy is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, she of the following ridiculous claim: "When I became Speaker of the House, the very first day we passed legislation that made Paygo the rule of the House. The federal government will pay as it goes."
In other words, she promised that Congress would not pass unfunded spending bills. But that would mean either radically reining in spending, or implementing vast new tax initiatives on virtually all income earners, which she and Obama promised they would not do. Thus, Pelosi's Congress has added more than $1 trillion to the national debt, taking the U.S. Debt Clock beyond the $13 trillion mark.
To put their plan into perspective, national debt was about 40 percent of GDP when Obama took office, but with the economic recession resulting in greatly reduced tax revenues, the national debt will be 62 percent of GDP by the end of this year. That would be an increase of more than 50 percent in just two years. (I recommend you read this paragraph at least twice!)
For a complete analysis of federal waste, see the Heritage Foundation's study, "30,543 Reasons Spending Is Out of Control."
To make matters worse, Obama continues to inflate the bloated central government beyond any recognition of its constitutional authority even as American families and businesses must cut back to make ends meet. Adding insult to injury, non-military federal employee salaries are now 40 percent higher than private sector salaries on average, and while private sector benefit packages average $9,882, government employee benefits average $32,115.
This week, Obama laughingly launched his annual "SAVE" Award dog and pony show, ostensibly encouraging federal employees to recommend how to save taxpayer dollars. He notes, "This contest is part of a larger effort to make sure that we invest taxpayer dollars in programs and initiatives that have proven records of success and fix or end programs that do not." I have more than a few ideas, but Obama did not ask taxpayers how to save taxpayer dollars.
That old sage Will Rogers once quipped, "Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying for." If he only knew...
Demonstrating the extent to which government has exceeded its constitutional mandate, my colleague Walter Williams wrote, "In 1794, when Congress appropriated $15,000 to assist some French refugees, James Madison, the acknowledged father of our Constitution, stood on the floor of the House to object, saying, 'I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.' He later added, '[T]he government of the United States is a definite government, confined to specified objects. It is not like the state governments, whose powers are more general. Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government.'"
Professor Williams concludes, "Two hundred years later, at least two-thirds of a multi-trillion-dollar federal budget is spent on charity or 'objects of benevolence.'"
Is there still time to restore the primacy of Free Enterprise over Socialism before Obama and his Leftist ilk have broken the back of Capitalism?
The short answer is, yes. Next week Part 2 of this essay, "Reversing Course and Restoring Liberty," will clearly outline how to restore the constitutional role of government.

Spot on analysis of the current Socialist agenda. I only disagree with one point, and that is that this is Obama's plan. It's not his plan. He isn't smart enough to have planned anything no matter what the mummies at McNews think about his "brilliance". He's being told what to do by persons unknown. He's somewhat like the Sorcerer's Apprentice. Who is the Sorcerer? That's the question of the year.
Consider that Obama has placed a moratorium on offshore oil drilling while at the same time has committed some 2 billion dollars of taxpayer money to Petrobas in Brazil to assist them in their offshore drilling. Seems confusing at first, but George Soros is a major investor in Petrobas.
There seems to be a pattern here. Soros is well known for his dislike for America and its free enterprise system. Soros gets my vote for Sorcerer and Emmanuel/Axlerod could be the conduit to Soros.
Watch for the "crisis" that brings about a declaration of martial law. There's your sign.

The national debt is $13.2 trillion. GDP is $14.4 trillion. Therefore the debt as percent of GDP is 91.7%. See http://www.usdebtclock.org/
It is a pity that so many commentators, even conservatives, express the national debt as a percent of "public debt" and thus omit the debt owed to social security. Things are far, far worse than is expressed above. Even Obama admits the path is unsustainable.
Government is about 45% of GDP (federal, state, local) plus another 10-15% of GDP in the cost of complying with regulations. The business of the US is now big government.
The federal government is borrowing 43% of its spending every year. It is clearly bankrupt already. It is time for massive cuts in spending and taxes. We need a constitutional amendment to limit the federal government. I suggest 15% of GDP maximum, except for direct costs of declared wars. That means eliminating 40% of federal spending.

The "external debt" as opposed to "public debt" is newly available on http://www.usdebtclock.org/
by going to the right margin, and at the top clicking "External". They show the US national external debt at 94.37% of GDP. The default view is "public debt" showing only 60.88% of GDP. Let's not fool ourselves that the lower figure is a fair gauge national finances.

Re: OregonBuzz,
Martial law will only serve to bring about civil war. Local and state citizens will up rise against martial law and a civil war will ensue.
I don't believe the majority of our Armed Services will side with Obama. The majority seem to despise him and his increasingly obvious Socialist policies.
It would be foolish for Obama and this government to declare martial law unless they want a protracted, drawn out, bloody ideological war.
On a positive side of such a scenario, the majority of liberals are anti-gun and disdain firearms. Because of that, sad to say, attrition would quickly limit their numbers.
Let’s hope and pray such a scenario does not have to play out; but if it does, I can guarantee them that we are more prepared then they are.

Can't wait until next week - looking forward to any sane course of action. Re: offshore drilling referred to earlier - last summer at a townhall meeting asked our state representative, Ron Paul, about Obama supporting same in Brazil - and he denied any knowledge of the 'loan'. Scary all around. Otherwise have respect for said representative. Stay informed, my friends.

In response to the portion of 7/8/10 Alexander's Essays that reads: "Adding insult to injury, non-military federal employee salaries are now 40 percent higher than private sector salaries on average, and while private sector benefit packages average $9,882, government employee benefits average $32,115." I must strongly dissagree with that statement. Perhaps, in Washington in the political circle, that is correct. Out here in the Defense Depots where we support the War Fighter and there systems and equipments, hardly true. We make good money but definately not 40% higher than the equivilant industry. And yes, we are about 99% conservative and anti socialist and definately not on board with the current administrations bumbling. A lot of us subscribe to the Patriot Post and donate.

We TOTALLY support what you've written and give you a very loud "AMEN"!! My wife and I have been school teachers for 30+, and we have witnessed first-hand the "dumbing down" of our students--especially in the area of history. As a history major and a VietNam vet, I am appalled at the lack of knowledge found among our young people--especially in the past 5 years. They have been done a grave injustice as has our country. If we do not teach history with accuracy and factual information, we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over and over again. GOD HELP AMERICA!!! Keep up the good work, Brother. Many out here support you and pray for you.

Dear Mark:
I've been getting Patriot Post for several years and really look forward to each day's fare, especially your Thursday commentary.
As an old-guard, long-term conservative, I have come to the conclusion that Obama and his handlers are absolutely intentionally destroying what is left of our economy and form of government, believing that swift action on all fronts will be impossible to combat by concerned citizens due to lack of time and resources to keep up with the full frontal assaults taking place. The BP oil spill continuance and the disastrous policies in Afghanistan, for example, are clearly planned ways to destroy our economy and our military - planned, not accidents.
Yet, most of our conservative brethren and pundits do not see this as a Trojan horse betrayal. As long as it is viewed as ineptitude and not intent, people will remain troubled but not gain a sense of urgency required to stop this before it's too late. We may revert to "centrist" Republicanism, which is no better - or neo-conservatism, which is just the same thing in a different package.
I am eager to join the fight but not sure where or how. My resources are limited and every day I get emails about new brush fires that need putting out.
Perhaps there ought to be some focused, coordinated movement aimed at hitting the enemy hardest where it matters most. At this point, the O Administration sets up new battle fronts every day, making the fog of war so dense that no clear actions can be taken toward key targets.

Do NOT forget that one of 'Lefty's' economic advisorsis none other than Franklin Raines. The same Franklin Raines that ran Fannie Mae into the ground. The same Franklin Raines that was allowed to further foul things up by his new BFF, the Messiah.
You absolutely correct that it was Chris Dodd and Barney Frank and their kind that refused to allow the Republicans the opportunity to potentially correct the problems. Though, with Hank Paulson running Bush II's Treasury; I don't think much could have been accomplished.
How about a Constitutional Amendment to provide for the recall of elected officials that have proven to be inept, stupid and/or thieves?

You also need to put more light on the problems caused by NAFTA, which opened the door to American job-loss. Mark Alexander's July 8 commentary was extremely and terrifyingly accurate. Ironically, only the day before on local radio here an incumbent Democrat was uttering, "Government is under a 24 hour microscope, so faults are found fast and fixed fast; whereas, with business, the problems aren't found until after the damage is done and then government needs to step in to save people." That is the ground game to numb minds into accepting broadening reach of government over their lives.

OregonBuzz,
While I agree that Obama is a puppet and Soros is pulling the strings, sometimes the dummy turns "real". You are familiar with the story of Pinocchio? Well in my dream The Obfuscator-in-Chief is running interference for State, Justice and the EPA. State and Justice so he can gain immigration reform, thereby securing a perpetual batch of new lemmings to vote democratic. And EPA so that, through his ignorance of the Deep Horizon oil spill, he can ram through cap and trade regulations which congress is unwilling to legislate for him.
Most of the useful idiots who voted for this Constitutionally-challenged marionette were duped by a lack in our increasingly dumbed down public educational system. Today they are beginning to wake up to the fox they inadvertantly let into their pasture. Hopefully in six months they will unite with patriots and begin sending his agenda packing.

Mark,
Although I believe far-fetched and seemingly conspiracy inclined thought, some readers note the possibility of imposing martial law.
On the other hand, in light of the direction our country is hastily moving; such a plan wouldn't surprise me if the country continues to deteriorate into Socialistic control.
If martial law were ever to be imposed, I presume media outlets such as the Patriot would be muzzled, internet traffic limited or shut down, communication channels limited, the post office mail system monitored, slowed or stopped, and only party edict drivel allowed.
So I suppose my question is, and I wonder, is there any means or methods to ensure state, national and or internet communications from Conservative, Democratic, Capitalistic, unbiased and free patriotic media outlets to concerned citizens? Any disorganized resistance would be chaotic and would not stand a chance without a concerted, informed and organized local, state and national effort.
We would need the Paul Reveres’ of contemporary times to inform the conservative masses and free citizens of government intentions and crackdowns. The Patriot could make a great modern day Paul Revere if able to keep the gates of free media information flowing!
Any ideas, or is this too inflammatory a topic to respond too?
I always say better prepared, better safe, then sorry.

The headsup about HR1388 is true and factual, however, this came to the attention of the public about a month ago, yet, look at the Date that is part of the URL (below), February 4, 2009. I sent this news out in Emails, about a month ago, yet, it seems to have happened more than 1 year and 5 months ago, rendering the Legislative Branch of Government moot (it couldn't pass, so they pulled it from the floor, and, Obama ordered it). With this act, Congress became an anachronism, useless, without power, leaving only the Executive, Faculty Lounge, and Judicial to make up their own laws.

I really enjoy the Patriot and am an avid reader, but, I have to ask about the above quote. Where are you getting this stuff ???? I work for the Department of Defense, specifically the U.S. Navy, as a civilian shipyard worker and I can tell you that my wage is NOT 40 percent higher than the private sector shipyard worker, not even 10 percent, and my so called "benefits" package is no where near as comprehensive as what union workers in a comparable industrial job are getting. My health insurance premiums rise every year, my co-pays increase every year and I get less for my money. If I have to go see a dentist I have to pay at least 50 percent of the cost. On average federal workers are lucky to get a 2 percent pay increase yearly and there have been years that there was no increase. The pay certianly does not keep pace with the cost of living. I don't know the source of your information but you might try a little field work by actually talking to a few D.O.D. workers and see what they are really getting. I know lots of my fellow workers that are struggling to get by and have lost thier homes to foreclosure. How about checking the facts before putting all Federal workers in the same box and calling us "pampered".

Mr. Alexander,
While your comments regarding the Barackracy are well founded and supported by observation and personal experience, what they point to is hardly within the realm of a Tea-Party-resistance to rebuff. We are dealing with a people who will not be easily dissuaded from the damage they intend to inflict upon our laws and our economy.
I began reading your commentary with the earnest hope that an as-of-yet undisclosed plan for peaceful and effective resistance was in the offing but was dealt the cruelty of being forced to wait another seven-days for resolution. I pray that there is still time to turn back our nation from its present rendezvous with disaster.
Write Mr. Alexander, as though our country depends upon your words, for it very well may.

1. Q: Source of stats on fed salaries and benefits higher than public sector. Would like to validate and verify stats and analytical methods.
2. Does anyone really want cheap Fed employees? Fed Gov competes with private sector for employees. Better and brighter deserve and usually get greater salaries and benefits. This alone does not explain disparity.
Solution? Reduce compensation. But we get what we pay for.
3. Too many Fed employees work in highest cost areas, i.e. DC. The cost of living adjustment accounts for some disparity. Still, not enough. Solution? Move out of DC (ala "BRAC"). Dispersion would be tactically sound, could stimulate "fly-over-country".
4. Concur: Gov expends money for services (esp unearned entitlements) that too few special interests enjoy, too many else do not want. But the assertion's failure to enumerate the unconstitutional expenditures promulgates public confusion, promotes public jealousy, and may provoke unwanted consequences. The military is not the only thing we should pay for, but all obligations should be constitutionally justified. Solution? Many, but first step may be: KILL, INCINERATE, CREMATE, CONFLAGRATE AND ATOMIZE INTO DEEP SPACE ALL UNEARNED ENTITLEMENTS; i.e.: unemployment, social security, medicare and medicaid.
Charity is supposed to begin at home, not at the infernal revenue service.
Journey of a thousand miles begins with first step.

It seems like a miracle that our anointed leader was able to convince BP to establish a $20 billion slush (oops, escrow) fund to compensate those hurt by the ongoing oil plume in the Gulf of Mexico.
After all, he had no constitutional power to force them to do so;
so had to resort to Chicago-style arm twisting.
But, let us take a closer look at the effect on BP’s 2010 finances:
1. BP will establish a $20 billion fund, but will pay only $7 billion
into it during 2010.
2. BP is a British corporation, but has a very large operating
entity in the US.
3. By Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), BP must book
the entire $20 billion expense in the year accrued, i.e., year the
liability is incurred. Therefore, they will book a $20 billion
expense in 2010, reducing their US tax liability by $7
billion.
4. Our anointed leader also convinced this massive corporation
to show their concern for the “small people” by withholding dividends
to their shareholders for the last 3 quarters of 2010. This
reduces their outward cash flow by about $7.5 billion, including approximately
40% of that amount to US citizens. Assuming that the Bush tax cuts
will survive through the end of 2010, the US Treasury will lose another $450
million in taxes on that amount. We won’t even discuss the effect
on the US economy.
Let us put the results into a table easily understood by the "small"
people:
BP Cash Flow:
Escrow funding ($7 billion)
Dividend saving $7.5 billion
Tax savings $7 billion
Net favorable cash flow for 2010 to BP : $7.5 billion
US Treasury Tax Receipts/Reductions:
BP Corporate income tax (-$7.5 billion)
BP Shareholders (-$0.45 billion)
Net unfavorable tax receipts ($7.95 billion)
I guess we really should expect this. After all, our anointed
leader is the most inexperienced man in any room he enters.
Scorecard:
BP Corporate Bean Counters - 1
Washington Tax Smart Guys - 0
American People - We Get BP (Bean Poop)
This isn't so hard to understand - BP made their largest political
contributions to Obama's campaign. Obama plays politics acting tough
on BP. We pay.
Frankly, I admire BP for their deal making ability. They must have brought their accountants to the table. After all, BP
is not a fly by night operation and Obama thought he and his minimal
business experience tax people and accountants could take on BP.
WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!

It is time for a "Woodstock" type gathering of Patriots from around the nation. Although, such a gathering should be scheduled for at least twice each year until 2012.
Since Tennessee is the volunteer state, and nearer the center, seems a great place to do so.
Any Patriots with 1,000 acres or more to hold such an essential, required gathering of Patriots?
Citizen Sportsman, Tea Partiers, 9/12ers, general patriots, NRA members, and all concerned American citizens welcomed!
Know anyone in your state that could provide refuge to millions of Woodstock analogous citizenry?

I shall find it difficult to wait---for Part 2! You are (again) absolutely correct, I agree, let us get to it! The US Navy just relieved the Commander of Norfolk Shipyard. "Failure to lead, and command." (One year in position!) Now, Barack Hussein Obama, in his second year, though successful in his objectives, is not in concert with the objectives of the majority of People of this Republic! Let the action begin! Firefight (not good), remove all Dems and RINO types, should happen! Best bet,(thoughtful), military coup, oust the triumvirate, new elections of civilian control in Novembe. Hmmm?

Strategic analyst, historian, political scientist, psychologist, writer, lay expert: truly you are a treasure for your readers. As you are an analyst of such standing, I'm sure you know that if all your analyses of the many issues you comment upon, from all these various vantage points consistently lead you to the exact same spot either the conclusion is exceptionally obvious -- which it does not seem to be -- or that no matter what your starting point, methodology or the facts you encounter along the way, you will end up where you wanted to go all along. Even a cursory look at it from a statistical viewpoint would seem to point to that very problem. Either that, or every person who evidences any behavior or thought you consider liberal is a complete amoral idiot and you are Wile E. Coyote, Super Genius. An analyst's healthy skepticism and an even superficial amount of humility would seem to argue against that conclusion.

I believe Mr. Alexander used the Greek word, "kratos" (power) in this description, "Barackracy."
Bank-ruptcy has a different root, it comes from the Latin "rapuere," to take by force, or steal.
Whatever the intent, Mr. Alexander's essay is eloquent and accurate as always.

Reality check: the white men in office prior to the black man in office are to blame for the current state of the economy. Seriously dude? you think Obama won the presidency by election? Hahahahaha that's funny.
Um, remember the back room dealings of the mortgage lenders? Come on dude, you know the dealings being made between Wall Street and buyers outside of America? Wall Street selling off America a little piece at a time, remember? Piece by piece, like a pimp in the city? Dude really. You talk a lot of smack but you don't really know the fact about jack.

You have to make up your mind, first you said "Obama was delusional," then you say that the direction that he is going to seems like a good idea to you. Which is it?
The reason you paid zero tuition when you went to college is that California was not bankrupt and saddled with millions of illegals who add billions of dollars to the expenditures of California - they were able to honor the "no tuition" promise for residents of California.
With all due respect, the eight points you enumerated are highly disjointed - they are attempting to prove which of the above, that BO is delusional or that he is going in the right direction?

Having a Woodstock like meeting of patriots is not such a good idea. Why? Because too many of US would be together at one time. Just wait until martial law is declared by Obozoid & the miniscules, or the communications net is down: TV, talk radio, phones, internet, cable, even newspapers may not have been distributed that day. Armed & Dangerous meet at the local airfield, or nearest city/county park, even if you don't personally own a weapon one will be provided for U. Posse Commitatus.

A fundamental transformation of the United States into a socialist-style planned economy cannot happen on it's own. First, according to John T. Flynn in 1955, they must wreck our economic system.
"The war we should most fear, but do not fight at all, is the war on our Constitution and the Republic which it defines." (page 134)

When we look closely at Obama's words - through the lens of the socialist - the objective comes clearly into focus.
When Obama declares that the economy is "making progress and that we are clearly heading in the right direction" , and pauses briefly to absorb the applause of the ignorant, he is speaking the truth - from the perspective of the socialist anti-capitalist that he is.
Americans have tended to believe that all people are intinsically good and deserve the "benifit of the doubt". With a sense of frustration , and little understanding of the issues, the "independent" American public followed the lead of the mainstream free-air media and voted for change - thinking that it would be the change that they had in mind.
Wrong.
Mr. Obama has done exactley what he said he would.
The problem is simply that his view of the world - and that of America's role in it - is not that which is held by those of us who have a shared experience of growing up in the greatest society in the history of the world.
Mr Obama did not grow up in the America that most of us did- he has not shared in our American experience - and it shows. He did not grow up in the poverty of the Black inner city, or the rural agrarian south. He grew up somewhere else, after being born -- who knows where, but clearly not in an American family - and spending most of his early life surrounded by radical leftists who actively worked to disrupt the America that most of us know as the foundation of our freedom. He was then educated at the nations finest schools and groomed as a political tool of the far left socialists. We are told that he did very well and excelled in his studies- yet we have no evidence of any of his work - his grades - his activities, his accomplishments or his scholarly interests as a young student and future community organizer and leftist political activist.
This Article encourages us to look at Obama for what he is - not what we thought he was or should be - but what he really is. Whatever he is - It is not "American" - in any sense of the word. I am looking forward to part II.

Dear Mr. Alexander,
I am a young 77 in age and keep up with local and world news from my vantage point in Olive Branch, MS. and would like to thank you for the information disseminated in the Patriot Post and other writings.
I must tell you though, that I am greatly disturbed by what I see happening with our President and our Federal government. It appears that we are very systematically being hoodwinked into becoming a third world country and it seems as if there is nothing we can do about it. At the rate of deterioration that we are experincing, we cannot wait until the next election to turn things around.
Any action short of an election would most likely be construed as an attempt to overthrow the federal government. Will someone please come forward and lead us out of this quagmire? We have a president that gained the office by illegitmate means, leading us into poverty and destitution by plan, and still we think we can't throw him out of the office.Have we grown so complacent that our courage is gone? Perhaps only God can rescue us.
Respectfully,
Bob Smith

He NEVER lied about his intentions, but left the interpretation up to the Obamatrons and the mainstream media.
His speeches were like abstract art. Where one person sees something that draws them in, keeps them looking, and generates an emotional response; another see’s something that their six year old could have done. Scoffers were looked upon as being uneducated dolts, having no appreciation for the insight that came from the canvas he created. The populous was looking for a ‘savior’ and that’s what their interpretation of his art came to be. I said from the start that you can beat ‘Hope and Change’ because that’s something that is internalized … a spiritual interpretation. The canvas was previously blank and the voting public interpreted what they wanted from the abstract vision he painted. But what he was really offering was a new world order of twisted visions and perverted priorities. Sort of like this ... http://www.artbyglenngallegos.com/PaintingsBig/PaintingBig80.html

Could it be that they've discovered the promises made to BP about it's chances to benefit from carbon offsets should "cap and tax" succeed in being enacted?

What does Barrack think is going to be left if the country goes BK? Does he just think everything is going to Hunky Dory when Socialism becomes the primary religion of the USA. That life will carry on much as it has before. Does he look to the collapse much as what happened in Russia in 1917 and figure on a number of years to rebuild in the shadow of Marx?
I am sorry I just do not see the all is going to well after the socialist revolution in America. First of all there are going to be no jobs, no business, no banks and more importantly NO TAXES to collect. There will be bread lines and civil unrest. The central government without ability to pay its employees will lose the power to execute its directives.
Also does one think that with a Global footprint large corporations will stand still to be robbed and regulated to death. Capital will flee and no one in the world will put any money into America...The evidence of this is to take a close look at just how willing investors are to invest capital into Russia.
The other thing that the Obamites don't understand is that since the USA is the reserve currency for the world and the largest economy in the world if the USA goes down, so does everybody else. Here one has to remember that power abhors a vacuum, and there will be MANY that will try and fill that vacuum both regionally and globally. This is a sure recipe for CHAOS, when rolling the dice one better make sure that they are loaded in your favor. In this instance with global chaos there ain't no guarantee of anything.
I am sorry if this is the Obama game, he may succeed in collapsing America, but what he is going to wind up with is a shyte pile and not the socialist Utopian society he and his friends dream of. For they don't realize that to have the level of amenities that they envision they need Business to thrive and prosper. Which is the very antithesis of what they dream of, so in conclusion it maybe nice for Obama to fantasize about a Utopian socialist world while he and his friends conduct a circle jerk, but it is quiet another to make it work as fantasized

Having read "The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve" socialism has been alive and well in this country for many years. Amazingly, socialism is only ostensibly about redistributing wealth from the rich to the poor. Actually the goal is to consolidate wealth and power in hands of a few. We should either be very afraid or very active. Amazingly many so-called conservatives have actively contributed to the conspiracy.

The comments about HB 1388 and Obama's executive order to resettle Palestinians in the US are FALSE. I wish people would check the veracity of these emails before passing them on! HB 1388 wasn't even about Palestinians, and the executive order gave $20.3 million to aid Palestinians. As much as I dislike gov't giving away OUR tax dollars to other countries and the UN, it was hardly the resettlement order these email forwards portray. Furthermore, think about it--what would a House Bill and an executive order have to do with each other? Either it was a bill that passed OR an executive order. PLEASE look these things up before passing them on!! We need to maintain our credibility!

Obama must be impeached ASAP and charged with crimes against the USA the country he swore to protect.
He has used the Constitution as T-paper and should be punished for his anti-American words and his unscrupulous illegal actions America to gain power.
Obama, Pelosi and Reid should be brought up on charges they overreached their Congressional boundaries when allowing voting to take place in a manner that is underhanded, corrupt and against the Constitution. Also they should be charged with offering a WH position to a politician running for office, IF he will stop running so Obama's pick will get the seat in Congress. Felony is a serious crime and they are trying to sweep it under the rug and so far have accomplished that too.

true "patriot"--you speak of an ideology that is "trying to deny or change the facts to support their ideas," and then you try to blame this on the so-called far right. My God, who has perfected this tactic more so than the left, forget about the far left? And your accusation that the author tried to insult the person who brought up an argument, another very common democrat, or leftist tactic. Geez, true (whatever), can you possible be using satire here? Can you really not see that these are tactics from your own political bent? "There are none so blind as those who will not see." But then, what would one expect from someone who obviously supports this failure of an administration? Joe Ferarre (I assume that's whom your post is about) got just the reply he deserved. He was not trying to be constructive. He was using the leftist tactic, trying to denigrate the author. In other words, he was simply being a smart ass. I thought the reply was very apt.

Isn't this treason? If this is treason; to overthrow our free country by destroying our economy and most of our traditional policies, then why are we not calling for the impeachment of the one who is executing our destruction; from within, no less?

I distinctly remember Nancy Pelosi saying, in July or August 2008, something like-'Boy, have we got and October surprise for you this time, it might be earlier, maybe September, but have we got a surprise, the biggest surprise ever, boy just you wait, don't forget my words when it comes, you will know it.'
She said this in a context in which she was attempting to counter act a poor forecast for the Democrats in November.
I have tried, but failed to find this speech on-line, but I surely noted it at the time and began wondering when the economic crisis hit whether a vulnerable situation had been given a push behind the scenes somewhere. They had worked very hard to bad mouth the economy for years and get lots of people edgy.
Any recollection of this by anyone?? Or information?
I am still wondering about it.

These persons and groups seem to have been

I agree with Oregon Buzz. This pretender in the White House is nowhere near smart enough to come up with this super complicated agenda which seems to be designed to disrupt our country so badly that the socialist can easily take power before we even realice they have. Some one or a group of dark side individuals is pulling his strings, probably the same ones who bought and paid for his so called education and financed his rise to power.
There are so many grounds for the impeachment of this guy and several members congress that I can't beleive its not happening. The most grievious of these grounds is violating the oths they took when sworn into office. Hell, congress tried to impeach Clinton because he lied about getting a blow job but, here this clown is destroying the greatest nation on the planet and congress is helping in that effort.
