Obama's Budget Blather

· Thursday, February 16, 2012

Will Republicans reverse Liberty's slide into the socialist abyss?

"I ... place economy among the first and most important of republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared. ... Taxation follows that, and in its turn wretchedness and oppression. ... We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude." --Thomas Jefferson (1816)
WTF? Is that a campaign slogan?

Barack Hussein Obama's socialist propaganda machine roared at full throttle this week, in defense of his "re-election campaign budget," the largest budget proposal in the history of our nation, by any measure.

Last week, Obama greased the class warfare skids at the National Prayer Breakfast where he asserted that the wealth redistribution scheme outlined in his budget "coincides with Jesus's teaching that 'for unto whom much is given, much shall be required.'" Making sure he covered his bases, Obama added, "It mirrors the Islamic belief that those who've been blessed have an obligation to use those blessings to help others, or the Jewish doctrine of moderation and consideration for others."

Of course, Obama's reference to Luke 12:48 was tantamount to what "TV preachers" do when prooftexting -- taking a piece of scripture out of context, reforming it to make a desired point, and thereby lining their pockets, or in Obama's case, lining his political fortunes.

Fact is, the Bible places the burden of stewardship on the individual, while Obama and his Marxist cadres advocate that state-enforced redistribution of wealth based upon the doctrines of Karl Marx: "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs."

Carrying the Marxist maxim forward, Obama presented his "Winning the Future" (WTF) budget Monday, claiming, it is "a reflection of shared responsibility. And some people go around; they say, 'Well, the president is engaging in class warfare.' That's not class warfare; that's common sense."

Actually, by way of clarification on behalf of Obama's minions who have no common sense, his "shared responsibility" language is class warfare rhetoric. And, WTF? Is that a budget proposal or a campaign slogan?

To that end, Obama's $3.8 trillion budget proposal demands tax increases of almost $2 trillion. It includes his "Buffet rule" 30 percent tax on incomes of more than $1 million, eliminating the alternative minimum tax, raising the highest tax bracket to almost 40 percent, raising capital gains taxes by more than 30 percent, taxing dividends as regular income, raising taxes on corporations and small business owners, targeting some financial occupations and banks for massive tax increases, burning down energy companies, refusing to extend the Bush-era tax cuts, and if he missed anyone in those groups, he's also proposing to raise the death tax from an outrageous 35 percent to a downright thievish 45 percent.

Oh, and for all of Obama's liberal constituents who think that only "the rich" will incur these tax burdens, remind them that when the price of doing business goes up, consumers -- regardless of income level or political affiliation -- pay for it in higher prices, on top of the inevitable inflation that accompanies massive government deficit spending. (Note: consumer prices may seem steady, but when you take deflating real estate out of the equation, inflation is heating up rapidly.)

Laughingly, Obama shamelessly condemned the last "decade of deficits" and had the audacity to claim, "My budget lays out a path for how we can pay down these debts." His proposal, even with huge tax increases attached, actually increases debt by another $6.7 trillion this decade. Of course, Democratic Socialists are not about to let such stubborn facts interfere with their WTF political agenda.

For the rest of us, the facts are as follows: On the day Obama released his first bloated "New Era of Responsibility" budget (seriously, that's what he called it) in February 2009, the national debt was $10,881,159,722,000. When Obama released his current budget earlier this week, the national debt was $15,359,441,622,000.

Now, if you don't have your nifty debt calculator handy, that is an increase of more than $4.47 trillion. That's right, Obama did not "cut the deficit in half" as he pledged in 2009. In fact, he increased the national debt, in just his first three years, more than all previous U.S. presidents from George Washington to Bush(41).

As you may recall, on July 3, 2008 -- the day before Independence Day -- Obama lectured the nation on "patriotic responsibility," saying, "The problem is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt ... we now have over $9 trillion dollars of debt that we are going to have to pay back. [That's] $30,000 for every man, woman and child. That's irresponsible. It's unpatriotic."

After three years of Obama, make that $15 trillion in debt and more than $50,000 for every man, woman and child. "That's irresponsible. It's unpatriotic."

Asked about Obama's broken budget pledge to half the deficit, his spokesman Jay Carney insisted, "It was a promise based on what we knew about the economy at the time. The economy turns out to have been far worse and in far greater distress ... than we knew at the time. The catastrophe was far worse than we knew."

As for who knew what when, in 2008 Obama claimed, "I think everybody knows now that we are in the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression." And if Carney thinks that "catastrophe" was bad, it will pale in comparison to the detonation of Obama's debt bomb.

Unveiling his first budget, Obama protested, "Government has failed to fully confront the deep, systemic problems that year after year have only become a larger and larger drag on our economy. ... Policymakers in Washington have chosen temporary fixes over lasting solutions." Obama went on, "The time has come to usher in a new era -- a new era of responsibility in which we act not only to save and create new jobs, but also to lay a new foundation of growth upon which we can renew the promise of America. This budget is a first step in that journey. Our problems are rooted in past mistakes."

"A new era of responsibility"? Obama is the undisputed champion of "temporary fixes over lasting solutions." And, indeed, "Our problems are rooted in past mistakes," most notably catastrophic mistakes made by generations of Leftists and culminating, tragically, in the election of Obama.

Obama's WTF budget deficit projection of $1.33 trillion is more than 8.5 percent of Gross Domestic Product, and in January, our total national debt exceeded our total annual GDP for the first time in history. Given his planned tax increases, Obama projects deficits will drop to about $900 billion in fiscal 2013, which would be the first time deficits have been under $1 trillion since his election. Even the most dim-witted students of economics know that as taxes increase, the economy contracts and, ultimately, tax revenues decrease, which in turn, produces even larger budget deficits. But Obama's minions, who clearly lack a keen sense of the obvious, vote on in blissful ignorance.

However, not all of Obama's team have been blinded by his light. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said his boss's budget is unsustainable: "Even if Congress were to enact this budget, we would still be left with–in the outer decades as millions of Americans retire–what are still unsustainable commitments in Medicare and Medicaid." In 2011, Geithner had similar observations about Obama's budget: "With the president's plan, even if Congress were to enact it, and even if Congress were to hold to it, we would still be left with a very large interest burden and unsustainable obligations over time." Apparently somebody in the Obama administration understands that Obama's plan will, ultimately, break the back of free enterprise.

As for Obama's claim that his socialist policies are reducing unemployment, when you steal enough money from future generations of Americans by way of loans from the Red Chinese, and "invest" it in projects for your organized-labor constituents today, predictably there may be some short-term economic improvement -- which is just what Obama needs for re-election.

However, the bipartisan Congressional Budget Office reports that January unemployment figures as touted by Obama, do not reflect the real unemployment stats. The CBO notes, "The rate of unemployment...has exceeded 8 percent...making the past three years the longest stretch of high unemployment in this country since the Great Depression." If those who are unemployed and have given up on searching for a job were included in the stats, "the unemployment rate in January 2012 would have been about 15 percent." Additionally, the CBO report notes, "The share of unemployed people looking for work for more than six months -- referred to as the long-term unemployed -- topped 40 percent in December 2009 for the first time since 1948," when such data was first recorded.

The fact is, the long-term consequences of Obama's Marxist economic policies will be devastating -- and Liberty will be the first casualty.

So, do enough Republicans understand the stakes in the 2012 election? Will they reverse Liberty's slide into the socialist abyss? They can -- but will they?

Republican House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan insisted last week, "[The 2012] election cannot be just a referendum on President Obama's failed leadership. Americans deserve a choice -- a choice between two dramatically different visions for our country's future. If we do not define the choice, then [Obama] will define it for us."

More likely, the 2012 election will be a referendum on Republican leadership unless they renew their commitment to abide by their constitutional oaths, and, accordingly, make the case that the only path to restore our economy and ensure prosperity for all is to, first and foremost, restore the integrity of our Constitution.

If the federal government collected taxes only for expenditures specifically authorized by our Constitution, our nation would not be on the verge of economic insolvency and dissolution. The only way to restore Rule of Law is if John Boehner and his fellow Republicans in the House and Senate will comport with their oaths.

As Thomas Jefferson proclaimed, "The multiplication of public offices, increase of expense beyond income, growth and entailment of a public debt are indications soliciting the employment of the pruning knife." Jefferson understood the consequences of unbearable debt, and insisted, "We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude."

Though the ranks of conservative Republicans are growing, many Beltway Republicans are still blinded by "Potomac Fever," and our challenge this year is to restore their vision for our country. We must make sure they see that the real election in 2012 is "between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude."

Fed Up

Fly the American Flag in Distress from Tax Day, April 15th, to the November elections to show our resolve and concern for the direction of our country.

This is in essence saying to everyone who drives by our homes and places of business, we believe we our country is in distress. And when asked why we are flying the flag in distress, we state our reasons succinctly.

If concerned Americans do this around the country, many will see our resolve to change directions. Pass it on!

The best way to fight Marxism in America is to send Obama packing! What he knows about Jesus and His teaching you could put on the head of a pin and never find it, even with the strongest magnifying glass in the world. Just look at how he handled the abortion/contraceptive thing and you know just how out of touch with Christian religion and principles he really is. His budget is just a remake of the previous one. With him, on him, and everything he says, I always say "Liar, liar, pants on fire!"

Mark,

I have thought for awhile would be a great You Tube mashup - showing Obama's rhetorical "flair" with the many huckster televangelists.

Stylistically, they are not-so-distant cousins - a combination of simplistic, jargony formulations, a hero who can give you endless wealth & health, offer and response cadence and form over substance. Theologically, in both cases, the leader centers his theology on the recipient, and what he will gain, rather than on God.

I think people inherently understand the picture this paints of a charlatan disconnected from the flock he is fleecing.

Ron Paul is the only one who even understands the magnitude of the problem. No one but he has a plan that actually puts us on a path to recovery. The other so-called TEA Party Conservatives advocate plans that merely represent putting a band-aid on a severed artery. Ron Paul's "draconian" Restore America Plan is only a small start to a truthful remedy and this is unlikely to occur. The result will be a very painful collapse in which many will die.

The only way we will win is by getting someone with some charisma to educate people! Schools have "dumbed down" so many, that most don't know how to critically think anymore. Until we can get some thought processes going with the majority of people, we can't win this.

The best way to fight Marxism is to force a return to the Constitution & Bill of Rights for governing America. An additional consideration is placing responsibility, restrictions on federal handouts to those willing to live off these government handouts at the expense of hard working American tax payers. A few of these restrictions/ responsibilities should include;

1. Proof of citizenship

2 Drug Tested

3. Required participation in education / learning a trade for employment.

4. Can't vote while on federal assistance

5. Criminal record or charged with a crime no more federal assistance.

6. Refusal to accept available employment no federal handouts.

This will be a painful transition for the freeloaders in this country but no more painful than than it is for Americans who's hard earned money is being taken by a socialist federal government to support these freeloaders.

The greatest weapon is your VOTE. Congress does not reflect the values of the people - they reflect the values of those who VOTE.

All Christians, Jews and those who love God must VOTE their conscience in 2012.

FACT: Churches were the moving force in politics at the beginning of our country. Quote from "Championthevote.com" "..of the 60 million Christians in the US only 30 million of them vote in any given election. Our research has shown that it takes 5 million votes to decide an election."

VOTE and VOTE according to your morality -- if you are a Catholic then vote for those who represent your Catholic values; if you are a Protestant then the same truth holds so on and so forth. STAND UP AND BE BOLD - DO WHAT YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN WOULD HAVE YOU DO before it's too late for America. Otherwise our government will not be representing your values but those who would silence God and all the beliefs we hold dear...

GO TO "Championthevote.com" and see how you can make an impact.

Eliminate payroll deductions. If every American had to write checks each month for Federal, State, Social Security, and Medicare taxes due, the magnitude of property confiscation would become glaringly evident to all. Even many liberals would quickly become disgusted with the amount going out, regardless of if it gets refunded at year end. Government excess would be looked at much more personally and challenged more consistently. There would be an avalanche of protest within three months. That would be a good first step.

BHO proposes confiscating all this wealth through increased taxes and yet the deficits continue. Ignoring the blissful ignorance of liberals in terms of the economic impact of raises taxes, how can they not see the disconnect between his claim of a "responsible" budget and the continual existence of deficits and increasing of our debt? These folks cannot get their hands on enough of our money to spend on their socialist agendas. I'm not for raising taxes, but if BHO is going to, then use the increase to reduce our debt, not spend more. It's pure insanity.

How do we stop the socialist agenda? Stop the welfare. When people need money to survive, they'll start looking to conservatives to create jobs instead of liberals for hand-outs. As you note, allow the individual to determine who deserves to be helped. Without the government in our pockets, there'll be more to give to WORTHY people in need.

The best defence is TRUTH. Truth enlightens, and reason prevails with wisdom - all of which spring from the well of Truth. Adults and children alike must learn the Truth of this Republic's founding, and the Foundation upon which the United States stand. To defeat Marxism, men must learn that their rights come from God, and thus their responsibiity is to Him; that the relationship among men must be bound by the Truth, morality, ethics, and decency which God has revealed, and which our fathers considered to be right, and the norm.

For a Godless society to exist requires nothing more than a Robespierre; yet as was true in the French Revolution, those who are incapable of governing themselves (morally, ethically, and decently) are in need of a master - and they recieved one in Napoleon.

God condemns socialism and establishes capitalism in His word when He said to Moses "Thou shall not steal." This command assumes private property and forbids its confiscation by those who did not earn it.

Regarding giving and charity, God makes Himself clear to the church that He does not want giving to be done under compulsion. In 2 Corinthians 9:7 "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

Taxation is not giving or charity. We are to pay our taxes, but in Romans 13:1-7 God only established the civil government to bear the sword against those who do evil. Giving is clearly an individual choice and is a function of family and church government, not the state.

Here's a few ideas I've had that would clip the wings of our high-flyin federal gubmint:

We have taxes exactly backwards. Most of our tax money should be local. How about an upper limit of 22% (shown to be the optimal balance between incentive-killing & revenue raising) to be distributed this way:

11% to your local government

5.5% to your state government

2.75% to our federal government

This would keep most of your money close to home so you can better benefit and keep an eye on it. It would also return power to the states and limit federal power. States could have their own militias & national guard units to be consolidated during times of national emergency.

I recommend that folks read Karl Marx's book "The Communist Manifesto" before making unfounded and untrue comments.

I am no fan of Communism. It is a failed system. America, regardless of the current president, is no where close to Marxist Communism. America, however, is closer to China's mixture of public/private entertrise without the burden of Communist doctorine.

In short, America needs to wake up to the facts that free enterprize will not work unless the government, business learders and the people have a strong moral and ethical commitment to self-responsibility and to the American Dream. Without those foundations, the greedy and unethical will prosper and gain more and more power. We see these stories in the news almost every day. What is to stop the powerful from becoming more powerful and more rich? It is not the Constitution or the Bill of Rights or, it seems, the Congress. The President? Any Pesident? Hardly. We are far from becoming a Dictatorship, but we are moving closer to an Oligarchy: a form of government in which all power is vested in a few persons or in a dominant class or clique; government by the few; a state or organization so ruled.

Best way to fight Marxism in America? I used to agree with those who said by their vote and educating the apathetic non-voters (half the voting age population!)

No more!!

Time has passed for that kind of idealism. With half the country dependent on federal handouts and 70% of the federal budget going to entitlements (meaning buying votes for Democrats), schools educating the youth on merits of collectivism, entertainment world doing the same, media mis-informing and usually not reporting whatever reflects poorly on Democrats (remember, the most insidious power media has is its power to selectively ignore news - I see this all the time around me as many have no clue what is going on with this Administration; the scandals, attack on the constitution, etc.) there is no hope left.

No, I am not being pessimistic - just being a realist.

Folks, individualism and collectivism CANNOT co-exist side by side. There is no room for compromise. Think about that a while, if you have not.

Thus, the ONLY realistic solution for our ills is for the U.S. to split into two countries; one based on our constitutional principles, and the other based on collectivism. That IS the only workable solution as neither side will give up their liberty or goodies they recieve in return for selling their souls to the devil (government).

Get rid of the Federal dept of education and take over the schools again. We are allowing socialism to be taught in schools at every level, That is why we have socialistis journalists, teachers and general public who think it is ok to let their friends and neighbors support them.

We no longer teach civics and people under 40 have no idea what is in the Constitution or how it is supposed to work. We have dumbed down the general population to not even thinkiing about where all the entitlements come from...others' pockets!

Educate the general public about what America is all about, its origins, history and future. in particular, stress why the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is paramount. Show what the difference is between a true republic and a socialist state, where the individual in the socialist state is subsumed to the will of the state. There is no doubt in my mind that Obama is a Marxist in a cheap suit. He apparently intends to bankrupt the country and force it into a Constitutional crisis. Let us hope that there are enough real Americans out there to realize what a fraud this president is. Let us hope even further that whomever the Republican nominee is, that he will begin his campaign by literally crucifying Obama on the cross of the Constitution and educate the public about his anti-constitutional behavior. The facts are there: defense cuts; reduction of atomic weapons to the 1950's level; outrageous increases in taxes and spending; kow-towing to foreign nationals; and a total disregard for the Constitution. Donald Trump actually said it best on the Hannity Show this past week [to paraphrase] the very grave danger is to wait until interest rates begin to rise and the piper comes home with all this debt which has been accumulating. The country won't even be able to afford the interest on the debt and it will default. Then, what will the Chinese do? Eat rock soup? I don't think so.

Remember the late Linda Bowles quote, "the socialist state requires greater and greater degrees of force to make it function. If resources and wealth are allocated on the basis of need rather than production, people will compete to be more needy rather than more productive."

At this point there is probably only one solution to rectify Obama's attempt to 'fundamentally transform' our country - a Second American Revolution (which may be a lot closer than many believe). It can come in either of two ways, the first, and the one most of us believe is the right one, is at the ballot box in November; the second, as Thomas Jefferson put it, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure".

The RED pie chart in this article lists Medicare and Medicaid in the same piece of pie.. This should not be.. Medicare is a PRE-PAID program by the users, while Medicaid is a government funded program primarily for those who have no insurance. They should not be totalled together but rather separately since one recipient pays over their life through gov't mandated payroll deductions and the other pays nothing... Two separate and totally unequal programs as far as financing.. AS for ridding ourselves of Marxists - - ya'll have some great ideas. Many may end up on Obummers watch list.. We have few if any Patriots left in Congress, on either side. I have wriiten to my Rep and Senators with most of the information mentioned in these postings and have yet to recieve an answer from any of them. In my case they are all Republicans.. Does treason sound reasonable for not abiding by their Oath of Office - to protect and defend against ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC ?? IF any military member had committed only one of the acts that Congress commits daily they would have thrown him/her in Leavenworth for life.. They continue to pass laws that exempts them from prosecution.. That is also treason, in my book !!! I have been taught that we are all "equal" !! Guess the joke is on us, Uh ???

Begin by changing the delivery of the message. The message is clear, but the delivery is stale and in some ways ridiculous.

I really think we need to help people recognize that because government programs seem to provide relief, many people have grown comfortable with that relief; however,we need to be reminded that those government programs have fueled an appetite for comfort and convenience that is provided other people's expense.

Many people don't realize what they have forfeited by relying on government programs, and that they have not only forfeited their own power to provide for their own comfort... they have forfeited their neighbor's rights as well.

Also. I feel we need promote financial/economic literacy. I am talking about personal finance and the economics of local government (ie public schools). If people were more familiar with these "smaller economies" they may reconsider how they view "larger economies".

Perhaps they will realize there is a lot of comfort in achieving economy in the home.

And through involvement in local municipal spending we can gain a sense of community... perhaps we would be less inclined to expect our neighbors to help pay for our unsustainable standard of living...we would be more compelled to accept responsibility for our own economic "health"?

As it is... the "larger economies" (ie US Federal Budget) seems abstract and distant. ...as do our neighbors.

Obama states that the Bible say that from he who has much, much will be expected, well in the Bible it also states that from he who has not, that which he has will be taken away.

St Paul said that do not give food to those who will not work.

In short the bible says a lot of things, which of them Obama follows seems to depend on what is politically expedient for him but then so do many other politicians when they are claiming to be Christian.

Personally I judge by actions not by words and when Obama wants to deny a Constitutional Right in order to get money for a pet Bill such as Health Care and that Right is the Right to Religious Freedom, then that does not make him much of a Christian, because a Christian would not interfere in a fellow Christians right to worship Christ in true conscience.

God Bless you all.

We have moved beyond the point where any of the clowns in government know how to promote independence (teaching people to fish) and just use handouts (of fish) as a means of currying favor. Of course it is obvious that people receiving handouts will continue to vote themselves handouts.

@Arch: Your idea has great merit and I have seen articles where the payroll deduction mechanism was originally even designed as a means to obscure the true magnitude of taxes. If you look into the taxes we pay we already basically have a VAT and the government is involved in everything.

These comments contain excellent and workable ideas. I love the idea of running our flag at distress. Yet they all seem to be sowing seed to the wind.

It seems strange that so many people agree yet we cannot come to devising common actions and common plans. I read a lot of "conservative" press each day. Threats are constantly being made against Congress and the Senate to do their jobs or get out. But, we are not united around what doing their jobs looks like or what it will take to actually see that it happens.

In all the reading I've done, not once have I seen anyone call for a national day or week or month or year of fasting and prayer in which we sincerely and humbly repent of our many corporate and individual sins. This is still, at its roots, a Christian nation, in which fasting and prayer have meaning.

What might our sins be? Paying our money and taking our time to fund Hollywood and the television studios that crank out vile material that is corrupting us all; turning our eyes from viewing 50 million babies murdered on our watches; refusing to see and address the almost universal use of pornography by even Christians, men and women, that is destroying our minds and hearts and killing our marriages; running to the doctors instead of living sane and modest lives; buying things constantly as a way of feeling good, even if we can't afford them and even though we know we are feeding the masters of world slave labor; sending our kids to public school rather than taking responsibility to teach them ourselves if need be (NOT reform public schools, which are irredeemable and are killing the souls of children as well as the few great teachers left there).

Oh, I could go on. But, I do have to say that an economic fix will not fix these. We still have blood on our hands and need a change of heart.

Everyone wants to retain their little sins and privileges and have the other guy give up his. Everyone wants to hold others accountable but fails to claim her accountability. Who will be the first to say no to the madness in which we all indulge? We could shut down Hollywood in a week, not to mention the public school system and other ills, by simply refusing to non-violently participate.

This is what I mean by our current shot-gun approach to our problems. We need to come together, give up our sins and our complacency together, pray together, and plan together. Surely at least half of 300 million people could make a difference. I imagine even 30 million or 300,000 truly with one focus and one humble intent before God could make a difference. In the past, even one lone man or woman did. That's how the great revivals and social reform movements were started.

30,000,000 could arrive in Washington and non-violently escort our President and his crew to a plane bound for wherever he likes and sit in Congress while our Congressmen and Senators are "encouraged" to write laws to undo all the mischief. Even a million would do. Imagine a million people praying on their knees in the streets and high places of Washington D.C.for a week.

We have power. But, as with all takeovers by absolutism, we have come to believe we do not. Instead, we feel divided and conquered way before the battle is over.

School vouchers. Almost 100% of the American electorate has been pumped full of disinformation regarding economics and politics by schools that are run for the benefit of the teachers' unions.

Peaceful political change will require a change in this system. If that doesn't happen in time, America will, within a dozen years, charge over the debt cliff and join the USSR on the ash heap of history.

You have hit the theological nail on the head. It is the individual, who having received much through God's grace, who is asked to give back. The liberal's take these verses out of context and use it as a campaign rhetoric. They take the Good Samaritan and juxtapose government into the biblical teaching, which really speaks to the individual and calls the individual to be the "Good Samaritan." Furthermore their is no Biblical teaching that God helps those who help themselves, God helps those who call out to Him, "help I'm lost and can't find my way." I have the same problem with libertarian politics as I do with libertarian free will biblical teaching. We are our own worst enemies. We need divine help and need to recognize our need for what George Washington and Abraham Lincoln constantly recognized which the great hand of Providence to steer our ship. To do that we need to recognize that the God of the Bible truly exists and does control the affairs of all things.

I would guess that 90% of those under the age of 50 don't even know what Marxism is or represents for them. The public schools don't even bother to teach the fundamentals of our own system let alone those of another. They do however, manage to teach what "free" benefits everyone is entitled to without mentioning how they will be paid for!

The best way to show that Commmunism does not work is to show that it has failed in every attempt. The Jewish Kibbutz of the 20s failed - te Soviet Union failed - China has gone to a Communist - Free Market Economy allowing ownership and this is moving away from the tenants of Karl Marx. When people are held to a minimum - told by the government wht thye can make - what they can do- and where they can live they tend to produce as little as is acceptable, run an underground ecoinomy (China has had this for years) - and man's competitive spirit is removed.

The best weapon to fight Marxism is, in my opinion, comprehensive history courses on the Soviet Union and the United States. The history must begin at least 50 years before the country existed and preferably a century earlier.

It may also be useful to include some historical synopses of democracies in which the people voted themselves the largess of the country. The result is always that the people vote themselves more and more from the public treasury until there is nothing left. Those who had provided the funding either leave the area or quit producing.

In response to your question "What is the best weapon to fight Marxism in America?". The one and only BEST weapon to fight Marxism in America is to get RID of Barry Oblunder ASAP. He should be immediately impeached for his many, many openly corrupt and unconstitutional acts which rise far above and beyond the "high crimes and misdemeanors" necessary for impeachment under the Constitution. barring that (SINCE HE is A MINORITY), we absolutely MUST see to it that this Marxist wannabe dictator is voted out of office this year, no matter who gets the GOP nomination. The name on the ballot absolutely doesn't matter. What really matters to us and our descendants is that we GET RID of this Marxist/Socialist/Communist/Muslim, unqualified, unamerican Chicago con-man and all of his Constitution-hating cronies. Oblunder's acts have gone far, far beyond what would have been accepted by Americans 20 or even 10 years ago. The level of corruption, hate-mongering and politics of division from this administration is breathtaking, to say the least. I cannot help but put a large part of the blame on the leftist media machine which has turned a blind eye to Solyndra, Fast & Furious, Lightsquared, and other high crimes too numerous to mention. Why has this man been allowed to exceed his authority at every possible turn? What gave him the personal power to stop all drilling in the Gulf when there was one, singular accident in a place where many companies had been successfully been driling for over 50 years without incident? Why and how can he now give the Brazilians the nod to drill in the gulf now that all of the American companies have been forced to move on? When I went to school, we learned that America is a nation with a binding Constitution and a seperation of powers. Now this 'man' feels that he can simply rule by executive order, without the need for Congress, and the silence from the media is deafening. If Bush or any Republican POTUS had tried half of the scams that we've suffered under Oblunder, the media would have had screaming headlines and TV coverage 24/7.

I think we are doing everything we can as Conservatives, but the deck is decidedly "stacked" against us. The Media and Educational Institutions, "bought and sold", infiltrated and staffed by liberals, have poisoned so many minds over time, making our main weapon in this ideological battle, the understanding and knowledge of our American System of Governance, and the ideal of the American Way less than impotent. Our Conservative leaders have been beaten down to the point they are "gun shy" anymore, and rightfully so. We need to continue our support and encouragement to them by calls and letters, and be as vocal and "kindly" with our message to others as the opposition appears to be. Sure, we are "mad as hell!" but we must win hearts back to our cause at the grassroots level with honesty, good example and steadfastness, as "corny" as that may sound. May God Bless America once again.

The best way to stop Marxism is for voters to be better informed and not vote people who aren't qualified and legal to hold a public office. Anyone who has never run a business, finished a term in Congress, is anti-religious, except for Muslims, who is anti-military, except for Islamofascists, who is anti-business, except for foreign countries, who is Anti-American, bent on destroying our Constitution and way of life, who has tyrannical leanings and trying to totally transform this country and told the public in so many words, just didn't draw a detailed schematic, but now, we are beginning to see the results of that blueprint in action and this is just the beginning. He has contempt for everything American, one thing, it is a colonial country and that is against his ideologue.

If they fall into anyone of these categories, don't vote for them for any reason. There is no such thing as a free ride.

How do we stop Marxist in America? I believe we have but one opportunity to do this and it will be in November 2012. Not since 1776 has America been as close to losing our liberties and freedoms. Voting so far has not helped because the House has fallen on their soward after winning the 2010 elections. Emails, faxes and phone calls do not work because Obama got his socialist agenda pushed through with bail outs and Obamacare. Short of a violent revolution the only way will be to first vote Obama and most of the old cronies (both GOP and Democrat)out in November and replace them with young conservative God fearing men and women whos fear of the Lord is much greater than fear of political correctness. If our last effort at voting them out in November does not work then the States need to stop paying taxes to DC and starve the beast to death.....Then only give them enough money to do the very limited things our Constitution provided for them to do.

Re: JoeF

For those who may not know what our Flag Means Up-Side-Down, with the Stars facing down, it has been traditionally used by military members as a distress signal to those warn those who understand its meaning.

Let's pass this on and get everyone to display a "Distressed" American Flag in protest. Pass it on through emails, Facebook, Socials Media sites, and any other means.

Our flag is very symbolic to our men and women in uniform, and to many of our fellow citizens. Let's see 100 or more million flags flying up-side-down around the nation, and then the MSM and politicians can't simply shrug something like that off.

I will start a day before February 15th to get this started!

To JimH. The answer to your question is that HW Bush just happens to be the cutoff of all former Presidential deficits cumulatively exceeding Obama's. The Milestone data came from the Treasury, it is not made up by someone else. Here is the extract from CNSNews.com

As of the close of business on Oct. 3, 2011 the total national debt was $14,837,099,271,196.71—up about $44.8 billion from Sept. 30.

That means that in the less-than-three-years Obama has been in office, the federal debt has increased by $4.212 trillion--more than the total national debt of about $4.1672 trillion accumulated by all 41 U.S. presidents from George Washington through George H.W. Bush combined.

See it's not that George W Bush is being excluded by someone's choice, it's because Obama didn't exceed a combined total that would have included W's.

On another note, I agree, unfortunately with "donald". The natural tendencies of Government are to do what ours has done. At some point, this could lead to a Conservative revolt, but nobody knows when something that dramatic could occur.

Best weapon to fight Marxism

First: Take action by the states to refuse to accept the federal taxes, etc. Refuse to accept Obama care, any federal tax increases, any laws passed that increase the debt. The STATES are, or should be,in control. They formed the federal government and should override them except in the areas where that power was delegated to the federal government.

Best Advocates for Liberty

The Republican Governors should take the actions above. There are really no great leaders in the Republican Party because many of them are Republicans in name only. They are secretly 'one worlders' and do not oppose much of what is being done at present. None of the leaders in Congress are Conservatives. Boehner is carrying the ball for Obama with his latest bill to reduce taxes taken from paychecks and continuing the payments of unemployment checks.

OUR BIG PROBLEM IS THAT THERE ARE NO CONSERVATIVE LEADERS IN THE LEGISLATURE, THE JUDICIAL OR THE GOVERNORSHIPS. Those who are conservative have no backbone and hence no action.

Mark my word, Obama will take the election by hook or crook (he via unions controls all the electronic voting machines)and then we will have a dictatorship like you would not believe, Martial Law immediately, disolution of the Legislature, confiscation of all guns and total control over every minute actions of the citizenship.

We will be living like the people in some of the worst African states...starvation, riots, killings, blood in the streets!

I'm glad I'm 80 and won't be around for much of all that. Our only Hope is for Jesus to call us home.

As I said in my post @12:41, stop the idealism, folks.

Do you not realize the potency of government dependency? Do you honestly think that half the population will walk away from the hand that feeds them? Really? If so, I have a bridge to sell you!

The only peaceful way would be by getting rid of all the bad laws - that is entitlements and all. How many politicians will vote for that? Not one Democrat and probably not half the Republicans.

So, the only other remaining way short of splitting this country in to two by ideology, is to have complete political reforms. Here is what is required at a minimum:

# limit terms in office to maximum 2

# take out all money from politics - no more lobbying, no more privately financed elections, etc.

# cut all congressional benefits and perks down to bare minimum

# make congressmen live by the same rules (no more immunities and other crap)

If these happened, there would be no way to profit from being in office. Herein lies the problem, folks:

They will never vote for such radical changes! The foxes are in charge of the chicken coop. Get it?

If you do, you must then agree with me that we need two seperate countries where people of diametrically opposed ideologies can live in peace.

If you do not agree that these two ideologies cannot co-exist, please let me know why? I need the encouragement!

Ron Paul is the best advocate for Liberty in congress or in America. I don't think anyone is actually an advocate for liberty who fails to support and recognize Ron Paul for the treasure that he is. There is no one on the campaign trail or in public office that has demonstrated himself to be more dependable or more knowledgeable than Ron Paul. He is the only electable candidate the Republicans have. They didn't lose 2008 because we were more disgusted with Washington D.C. politics than we are now. The best way to fight Marxism in our country is to teach true American History (at home, at school, in our media and in church) and to explain to each child and to each new immigrant how our Constitution protects us from tyrants and dictators by insuring individual worth and opportunity. We must contrast that with the governments of other countries then and now in order to show what happens without a Constitution like ours. The only way we will lose that protection is to be ignorant of it's value and/or negligent in protecting it from those who would destroy it or ignore it. We who have been given so much must keep the vigil in order to pass on the same to the next generation.

Mark, as usual, you hit the nail on the head. Jesus' teachings regarding our obligations to our "brothers" and "neighbors" are individual responsibilities. Nowhere in Scripture does Jesus teach or advocate the state confiscating from one to give to another. To the contrary, Jesus' teachings focused on the responsibilities of the individual and the Church He died to establish. This he confirmed. When, during His final trial, Pilate questioned Him regarding his earthly political standing, Jesus clearly replied, "My Kingdom is not of this world." (John 18:36)

I find it amusing how our President who has only attended church services a handful of opportune times while in office is coached and given an out of context quotation from the Bible to recite at a press conference. He might be shocked to read a bit more of the inspired word to find that Jesus also said, "For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always." (Mark 14:7)

So as not to share the guilt of the POTUS by taking a passage out of context, Jesus said this on the occasion during the last week of His life on earth when Mary, the sister of Lazarus washed his feet with a very costly pound of ointment. The betrayer, Judas Iscariot who was also present protested strongly, maintaining that the ointment should have been sold and the money given to the poor. Jesus rebukes Judas, noting that Mary had her priorities right in sacrificing a costly possession to do a good work on the Son of God who would soon go to the cross. The Apostle John, in his eye witness account gives even deeper insight as he boldly implies that Judas was motivated by greed, "not because he had any love for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the money-bag, took for himself what was put into it." (John 12:1-8)

I would maintain that the motivation of our current POTUS and his liberal minions holding office in the Swamp are one in the same, they care not for the poor, but rather like Judas, hold the money bag containing our tax dollars and desire to pilfer what is put therein.

The compelling forces in dealing with MARXISM are the composite of "rules" clearly spelled out in our U.S. Constitution.

The time to introduce and teach those rules is first at home; with pre-schoolers, and secondly in our schools. The blueprint that has allowed Marxism and Communism to take hold throughout the world clearly displays the approach in controlling the learning processes of our children and binding them to the "state's" philosophies and objectives.

This is exactly how totalitarian governments and radicals have managed to influence the adoption of Marxist/Engle dogma, Leninism, Hitlerism, Stalinism, Maoism and dozens of other "ideologies" and "mind mastering" techniques that have been used over time to totally subjugate and enslave people and nations across this world.

The best defense is still; obviously, a great offense. We; as a free nation (now), must take those dramatic steps to fight the insidious objectives of Obama and his handlers. We need to stand up and not only insist on a full return of implementation of our Constitution and use whatever powers are available to back up what we say must occur. All other courses of action now open to us are destined to fail. The Liberal/Leftist machine now in leadership in this nation is getting stronger and stronger as time goes on. We cannot simply "hope" and pray for an election in November to solve this desperate state of affairs in this country.

If we are serious about protecting our country and its history; teaching our children how they can protect and defend this nation over time, vice being dragged into destroying it from within, and confronting those who are involved in the destruction of our still free Democratic/Republic, the time for mere thoughts and ideas about regaining the high ground will not cut it any more.

If either is elected in November it will be the death nell of America because there is so little time left and will be too much time squandered. As for revolution, it may well be too late already. Obama would love a revolution. He would declare martial law, suspend elections and use the power of the American military and the U N armed forces to quell any uprising and America will fall.

Initially it's ideas and concepts gleaned from your Constitutional past, used to gently influence others without authority or animus.

Failing that, we have the vote. And we vote some more. Then vote again. We again vote and hopefully the examples of failed socialist/communist countries convince sufficient numbers of voters.

Failing that...the best weapon is probably an M14.

It sounds simplistic, but it's really our only hope: Our Lady's Rosary, which she has begged us to say for the conversion of Russia, among many other intentions. Here's a related story:

Russians Pullout of Austria, 1948 - After World War II the Allies turned over Catholic Austria to communist Russia. For three years the Austrian people endured this tyranny. Then, a Franciscan priest, Father Petrus, remembered how the Christians although greatly outnumbered had defeated the Turks at the Battle of Lepanto through the Rosary, and he launched a Rosary crusade. Through it 70,000 people, one tenth of the Austrian population, pledged to say the Rosary daily for the Soviets to leave their country. Austria was valuable to the Russians because of its strategic location, rich mineral deposits and oil reserves. Yet on May 13, 1955, the anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady at Fatima, the Russians signed the agreement to leave Austria, and they did so without one person being killed and without one shot being fired. It is the only time that the militant atheistic forces of Marxism have ever peacefully left a country in which they held power.Military strategists and historians are baffled as to why the Russians pulled out. But we are not - it was the power of the Rosary. This is just one of countless stories about the power of the Rosary!

The best defense against Marxism is a good education that includes world history and American history. Unfortunately, the liberals have all but destroyed our educational system. So it is left to the parents to teach their children how great this country still is, why we became the greatest country in the world in such a short time, and how wretched other forms of government are to the people doomed to live under them.

0bama's budget is truely WTF (What the F***).

Posted February 16, 2012 at 6:20:29 PM

Steve

From the comments above, we can draw a number of conclusions:

1. I'm not the only one who laughed out loud at the acronym for Obozo's budget. WTF indeed.

2. Unfortunately, most of the voters in the 2012 election have not read, much less given a few hours thought and reflection to the subjects in, the U.S. Constitution, the Federalist Papers, the anti-federalist counter arguments, etc.

3. The independents and swing voters who will truly determine the election probably don't read PatriotPost

4. We would probably not be able to slip in sublimal messages like "Read the Constitution!" and "Support the Rule of Law" and "Redistribution of Wealth is just legalized slavery!" ... into TV programs like Entertainment Tonight, and cable channels like MTV, E!, PBS, etc.

We are mostly preaching to the choir here.

One oft recurring theme on this site is returning to the Constitution, the Founding Principles and the Rule of Law. WHY is it that only one GOP candidate (Ron Paul) actually proposes to do that, and yet seemingly everyone here believes that he has no chance? OR they wail that he proposes to "gut" the military? OR he's too soft on Iran?

In other words, they say they want to restore the Constitution and the Founding Principles, but they don't support the one candidate who stands for those things. Do we want Liberty? Or not?

It could be that even some members of the choir don't fully understand the Founding Principles and the wisdom of a non-interventionist foreign policy. A fifty year Cold War has conditioned many of us to think that we simply must continue to outspend the rest of the world (we spend one half of the world total--- more than the next 13 nations combined--- some of whom are allies) on military spending.

The vast majority of the non-military spending is on things and programs that are NOT authorized by the Constitution. We can't end it overnight, but we have to start--soon! At some point in the next four to ten to 12 years...a collapse will start and it will be unstoppable.

If we can't persuade the swing voter independents (or even the hawkish "conservatives") that we must change the mission and the spending, then it will take a catastrophic meltdown to change things.

If Robert Higgs is right, then we are doomed. The "Hotel of Impossible Promises" will not stand much longer. Stock up on ammo.

"The trouble is, however, that now, even more than then, the American people have little interest in liberty. Instead, they want the impossible: home ownership for those who cannot afford homes, credit for those who are not creditworthy, old-age pensions for those who have not saved, health care for those who make no attempt to keep themselves healthy, and college educations for those who lack the wit to finish high school. Moreover, they want it now, and they want somebody else to pay for it."

All this rhetoric about fairness is wearing a little thin. Most of what the president says and is doing is patently not fair. In a free society, there is no "fairness" in picking winners and loosers. There is no "fairness" in using political position to make demands and dictates on the citizenry. Is is "fair" on the world stage to reduce our nuclear protection while the rest of the world holds theirs? We have already gone a step too far. What would be "fair" would be to give the conservative approach a fair shot at federal public policy.

A useful way to fight progressivism/Marxism is a serious effort to open the high frontier and take advantage of the truly astonishing resources offered by the Moon and the asteroids. Newt's proposed lunar settlement is a small step in the right direction. The claim that a coercive welfare state is needed to ensure equitable sharing of strictly limited resources is not persuasive when an open frontier offers unlimited opportunities.

The first thing to do is to freeze all welfare where it is. Obama clearly has no intention of ever paying his debts and never has. Next supply the country with a budget and a goal. Apply all taxes to the debt and have a war on people without work and allow job creation in local areas. Remove all federal organizations that need only exist on a state or local level. Repeal the 17th amendment and allow the states their due independence. Just allow the American people to solve the problem.

Have your kids read: John Locke, Alexander de Tocqueville, the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, "Liberty and Tyranny" and "Ameritopia" by Mark Levin. Also, make sure your kids truly understand Marx and Lenin. As President Reagan said, "How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? • Term limits: “You don’t want to make a CAREER of politics, do you?!”

• Compact districts: “A man really ought to know his neighbors, don’t you think?!”

• Flat tax: “What do you say we each work two months out of the year for our common goals? Sound fair? That makes it like 17% of pay for everyone, right?”

People respond to clear images and relevant metaphors. Let’s have sound principles as well as a bit of fun.

In response to "Concerned", our electoral system is set up so te President is chosen via the electoral college and not the popular vote. Our founders set this up as one of the checks and balances. If we relied on jsut the poular vote for President, the candidates would only campaign in the most populated areas of the country and ignore the less populated sectiosn. DO you really want the President chosen by the voters in New York, LA, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, etc?

Another way to return this country back to its Constitutionla roots is to stop the President/Vice-President ticket, and go back to the way elections were held prior to the ratification of the 12th Amendment. We should vote for one person for President. Whoever gets the highest number of electoral votes is President. Whoever gets the second highest is Vice-President.

In reply to billy396, while I would love to see President Obama impeached, we must look fully at the impeachment process. For a President to be impeached, charges must be brought up and voted on in the House of Representatives. The vote in the House must be 2/3 to bring the charges to the Senate for a trial. For the President to be removed from office, 2/3 of the Senate must vote to remove the President. At this point in time, we may be lucky if we get 2/3 of the House to vote for impeachment. There is no way that Harry Reid and the Democrats in the Senate will allow 2/3 of the Senate to remove President Obama.

At this point our best hope is to vote for the Republican nominee, whomever that might be, on 11/6/2012.

Now that I have actually read these comments, I am more than ever convinced that all these efforts taken together might be too little, too late. If, in November 2012, most of the electorate chose to vote for anyone NOT a Republican or a Democrat, it still might be possible to avoid a catastrophe, but we would still be facing a disaster.

We must keep pushing for the truth, even though the media is controlled by the left. The left must be exposed for what it is; an affront to freedom, our freedoms granted to us by the U.S. Constitution really rankles the left. We have to keep speaking out, keep pushing for the truth to be known; never let up for one moment. If enough people keep working at getting the truth out, we can make the most needed change in our goverment's history, a change that will save our country from being pushed into the abyss of socialism/marxism. The elections of this November are the most important and crucial elections in our nation's history; this is our chance to save the America. If don't make the change, if we do not vote obama out of office and retake the U.S. Senate, we will never again be a great nation - there is so much at stake.

BHO's feeble and fallacious attempt to justify wealth redistribution by Luke 12:48 is easily debunked. Luke 12:48 has nothing to do with the temporal, the material, or helping others. It’s all about the eternal – spiritual response to having heard the Gospel.

From John McArthur's commentary, a brief excerpt:

And the principle is, from everyone who has been given much, shall much be required and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more. And here we find a very interesting principle, folks. Truth is dangerous. Truth is dangerous. Better to have never known than to have known and rejected. Better to have never known than to have known, rejected and rebelled. Here we are introduced to the possibility, the reality that there are at least three kinds of unfaithful people, three categories of people that are going to face judgment.

The best way to fight Marxism in America? EASY!!! Take a page from the Founding Fathers, who thought the best way to figure out what works was to have 13 state "experiments." We've got 50 states now--should be a LOT easier: California, New York, and Illinois are incipient Marxist states and failures; Texas, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, Florida, and numerous others are capitalist successes. Can the Republicans make sound bites out of that . . .

Here's a way to the White House for us Republicans: Bide our time with the current crop of candidates, hoping that none of them can get a first-ballot nomination at the convention. Then, pivot to Paul Ryan, Gov. Christie, Gov. Walker, or some other national-level leader with name recognition, bona-fide capitalist/liberty philosophy, and with no fear of calling our president what he is, a socialist. Then, this candidate has to back up the characterization--should really not be a problem! Why can't Romney, Santorum, and Gingrich get this done? Each has disturbing "baggage" inconsistent with the capitalist/liberty philosophy.

The toughest thing for me to understand is how, in America, a president such as Obama who now openly spews forth his Socialist agenda, seeking to totally transform this nation into the Marxist state he has always dreamed of, can be supported in any way by voters.

We obviously are dealing with a society now, so mesmerized by his rhetoric, that it is willing to accept his nation-changing policies and become the very thing that we have always stood against. This will be the subject of many future books, how America was hoodwinked by a slick-talking Socialist and sadly became something far different than ever thought possible by our Founding Fathers.

What is the best method to stop Marxism?

Marxism is not compatible to our Constitutional, republican form of government. Obama is incompatible to the same.

We are being subjected to an extreme Constitutional crisis and that is, our present Marxist movement, with Obama being black has so intimidated the conservative right, that they don't and won't call him out by impeachable crimes against the Constitution.

The more Obama gets away with the more he tries and gets away with. Obama's race has nothing to do with any violations of Constitutional authority. If he is ignoring the law of land he is subject to prosecution by that authority. We just need a coalition on the right in Congress to do right by their own obligation to the whole country; that being, by their oaths, defend the Constitution. The future of our republic depends on it.

Simple:

-Demand that the federal government return to its legal jurisdiction as specified in the Constitution.

-Demand that judges who contravene the letter and intent of the Constitution step down or face impeachment. Example: redefining the interstate commerce clause away from the original intent of regulating duties collected among the states.

-Eliminate the Federal Reserve and push for the states to issue standard weight gold and silver money. Good money drives out bad.

The dumb masses need to learn the difference between that which is "given" through generosity and that which is "earned" through hard work.

All great things have come from the mind of an individual and not from a government. Thomas Edison, Steve Jobs,Eli Whitney,Fulton(the steam engine, which in fact is about 1000 years old) for example were not subsidized by any government.

It's a shame that our country has sooo many stupid people who can't see past their nose! Obama needs to go and leave our country alone! If he doesn't go, FREEDOM in AMERICA WILL BE LOST FOREVER!

Paul Ryan and Rand Paul seem to be the only sane men in Congress. Everyone wants to keep the goodies going out to their constituents to keep their reelection bids intact. Term limits would go a long way towards curbing corruption.

What's the best weapon to fight Marxism in America? Vigilance on the part of We The People and only electing Constitutionalists to public office.

Amen to Tom W comment from God's Word. No one speaks of the obvious fix to all of our nation's problems. We, as a nation, must turn our faces back to God or we are finished. It isn't taxes, politicians, the economy, contraceptives, electric cars, whatever. We have abandoned our first principles, specifically our faith in and our trust in God. We are as bad, if not worse than, Sodom and Gomorrah. Wake up America before it is too late! May God bless and have mercy on us all!

All we ever hear is lip service! Send more money, pay more taxes...

When are Americans going to truely...STAND UP Together.

The political calamity in this country have done nothing to change the direction we are changing. My opinion is there is not a candidate worthy of my vote.

Mark, you should be our candidate!

Many of the comments correctly point to the indoctrination or our youth in the public school system. The solution is to get the parents (or parent) that it is their responsibility to provide an education for their offspring. The constitution does not give the government to responsibility but politician seeking election support created this monster. As a country we need to have an educated citizenry and therefore all must pay (in the form of taxation) to ensure that there is a forum to provide education. The fix for countering the mandatory indoctrination of our youth is to provide appropriately valued tuition vouchers for all students and then the parent (s) would determine what school the student went to. All schools would qualify as lone as they supported the US constitution and did not teach any subject or ideas that fermented lawlessness, This is not taking tax money and giving it to churches but is providing the parents with their fair share of the educational money (consider it an educations=al escrow account) that they provided. This will also eliminate the argument that only the rick can afford the non-public schools.

In my view the repubs must unite on these baisc propositions:

1. The us government by reason of the unconstitutional expansion of its [popwers and functions has become unmanagable. It is failing.

2.Powers and fuinctions must be restored to the states where they Consitutionally reside

3.The Federal power tax and spend must be limited

accordingly.

4. Competition among the states should be encouraged because it brings innovation, effciency social progress, broader liberties andmore representative government

5.The nearer the government is to the governed the better. ( and the smaller it is the better.)No government and no person with political power is worthy of complete trust.

Individual citizens should save their money, pay as they go; and get and stay out of debt. We need individually do what we want our government to do. And we need to pray for our country: 2 Chron 7:14 "If My people, who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land."

This may set some people off as extreme, however, that's life. "Periodically, the tree of liberty must be sustained by the blood of patriots and tyrants". That may not be an exact quote but the message is clear. We know what the best weapon is.

No politician, at least acting on his own, or with the backing of his party, will ever be able to stop the Marxist plot to reduce our nation to a socialist mediocrity. It will require a consolidated approach whereby the majority of Bible-belieiving Christians, who know how to pray, set themselves to "seek the face of God" with much prayer, confession of personal and national sins, and supplication to the Almighty to once again, become involved in the affairs of both men and our nation.

We, the Church, stood by and allowed the Marxist element in American society, and some who entered our land illegally, to demand that God leave our institutions of learning, and government. They decided long ago that God was not needed in order to create, or maintain, a sound economy, system of justice or equitable social order. Witness the statement of Nancy Pelosi: "You don't need God, you've got us Democrats".

While we, the Church sloughed off their evil rhetoric as meaningless, and without consequence, and failed to stand up to their lunacy with our own demands that we ABSOLUTELY DO need God to be totally involved in our schools, our government and every other part of our lives, THEY began to unleash the evil inherent in their way of thinking, through the power of godless education and corrupt government. They first succeeded in getting God and religion out of the schools, and are now very close to the same result in government.

No matter who is elected in November (other than Obama, God forbid) , unless the Church begins, once again, to implore God to take an active role in our nation, the end result will be a total collapse of our society and an America that no one will recognize.

The prayers of the Prophet Daniel, as recorded in the 9th chapter of the Book of Daniel, offer a very effective way for all believers to approach God with the petitions and supplications that will truly bring a response from God. I believe God is waiting, and watching/listening, to see if enough Americans who call themselves Christians, really care about the future of America. Only Almighty God, at the request of the true believing church, can deliver us from the evil trying to destroy us.

Not quite a direct answer to the question, but something I want to point out that should be a recurring theme in answering class warfare.

The public isn't overly mathematical, but it does understand arithmetic. So far most of the arithmetic applied by our side has been comparing the family budget to the federal one, showing the futility of the spending. But the answer from the left has been the canard of raising taxes on the rich to pay for it.

Let's assume the average billionaire has 10 billion of assets, and that we have a hundred billionaires in the US (which we don't). That is one trillion of assets among them. Confiscate all their assets and we don't cover the deficit for one year - and we'll have to put them all on welfare as they'll now be broke.

Using real numbers a confiscatory income tax on the rich (leaving their assets intact) wouldn't make much of a dent in the deficit, and none on the debt. Large numbers are not easily understood, but putting them in terms of people makes it easier. How many millionaires would it take to cover the deficit if they payed 100% tax on their income?

Best, Jon

Will Republicans reverse Liberty's slide into the socialist abyss?

One might recall the words of old Tom Jefferson: "God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. ... What country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that the people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."

Getting away from both the present parties and indead any sembelance of party is the only hope for America.

AVOID WORLD WAR 3. It could be just another war between the two main world religions. Let the Muslums and the Christians kill each other off so that the Marxists will be able to rule the world after dealing with the winning side.

I'm not sure Americans are aware that Marxism is a concern that needs to be addressed. You cannot change what you will not acknowledge. We are nation that does not see evil as being evil. Unless we as a nation turn back to God,I see our nation continuing down the road to Marxism.
