Without Sanctity of Life, There’s Only the Incinerator
The story of aborted babies in the UK being incinerated is sickening but a natural consequence of abortion.
In a futuristic sci-fi movie entitled “Soylent Green” set in 2020, civil society has collapsed due to “climate change” and over-population, homeless people clog the dilapidated buildings, and food riots occur weekly, bringing out the police to scoop up rioters into large dump trucks. Soylent Corporation, the sole food producer, sells a popular though expensive food call Soylent Green, ostensibly made of plankton. The shocking climax comes when a detective investigating a murder discovers that Soylent Green is actually made of human remains.
Tragically, not far behind this fiction, reality reared its ugly head this week when the London Telegraph reported that aborted and stillborn babies in the UK have been incinerated, sometimes to heat hospitals through a “waste to energy” effort. The remains of more than 15,00 babies have been incinerated as “clinical waste” by 27 National Health System (NHS) trusts (non-profit agencies overseeing local hospitals) in the last two years alone.
Parents were told that their babies had been cremated, and many complained that they had been treated without compassion with their concerns dismissed, especially concerning the disposition of the remains.
The overreach by these agencies of Britain’s socialized medical system was at least addressed by Sir Bruce Keogh, NHS Medical Director, who has instructed all NHS trusts that the practice must stop. Health minister Dr. Dan Poulter likewise branded the practice “totally unacceptable,” and promised to end it. We certainly hope that they do put a stop to all such heinous practices.
But the question “pro-choice” folks must answer is this: Why is the practice “totally unacceptable”? If it’s not a baby but just a “lump of tissue” as some have described it, why is it wrong to incinerate it and find some practical use for it? The inconvenient truth is that the “pro-choice” movement has so devalued human life that such practices are bound to happen. If life has no sanctity, what’s left but fodder for the heater? As shocking as the fiction in “Soylent Green” is, reality is every bit as stomach turning.
