The Right Opinion
The 14th Victim at Fort Hood
I have written recently of President Obama's "covert zeal" for the spread of abortion. I took that phrase from Abraham Lincoln's description of how President Franklin Pierce and Sen. Stephen A. Douglas sought -- covertly -- to spread slavery in the 1850s. In that column, I noted specific actions of this president to advance abortion-on-demand and to force us all to pay for it.
Now, I want to focus on something Mr. Obama is not doing. He is not charging Nidal Hasan, the accused Fort Hood killer, with violation of the Unborn Victims of Violence Act (UVVA). This law was passed and signed in 2004. After the highly publicized conviction of Scott Peterson in California for the murder of his wife and her unborn child, the law was named the Laci and Conner Peterson Unborn Victims of Violence Act.
There would seem to be no possibility of controversy in charging Hasan with violating UVVA. After all, it is indisputable that one of those killed was pregnant at the time of her death. Nor did the mother, Army Private Francheska Velez, contemplate an abortion. There would be no question of her exercising "choice" in this matter. In fact, her last words, most poignantly reported, were: "My baby! my baby!"
It was for just such heinous crimes that the UVVA was passed. It covers only those instances where a crime of violence is committed on federal property, or where other crimes covered by the federal code are being committed. This is how Wikipedia describes UVVA.
The Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 2004* (Public Law 108-212) is a United States law which recognizes a "child in utero" as a legal victim, if he or she is injured or killed during the commission of any of over 60 listed federal crimes of violence. The law defines "child in utero" as "a member of the species Homo sapiens, at any stage of development, who is carried in the womb".[1]
The law is codified in two sections of the United States Code: Title 18, Chapter 1 (Crimes), §1841 (18 USC 1841) and Title 10, Chapter 22 (Uniform Code of Military Justice) §919a (Article 119a).*
So, it is a law incorporated into the U.S. Code and most significantly in this case, it is applied to the military by including it in the UCMJ. Hasan was assigned to Fort Hood. So were all those who died. There could be no question of UVVA not applying in this case.
Apart from his "covert zeal" for abortion, what could explain President Obama's failure to apply this law in this case? He obviously has a problem with the law "recogniz[ing] the child in utero." But the law can in no way conflict with the Supreme Court's abortion rulings. This young mother chose life -- for herself and her unborn child. The law does no more than recognize what we all know to be true. Even Joe Klein, that veritable liberal, acknowledges in his TIME Magazine column that "that thing in the womb is a human being." But President Obama does not want to recognize that simple truth.
The failure to charge Nidal Hasan with violation of the Unborn Victims of Violence Act is another instance of this president's failure to "take care that the laws be faithfully executed." Americans are becoming increasingly pro-life. It is high time that the laws that protect unborn victims of violence be duly enforced.

Jesus of Nazareth said, "I came that you might have LIFE and have it abundantly." St. John 10:10. Since Nidal Hasan shed innocent blood, 14x, the State of Texas; by a jury of peers, should find Hasan GUILTY(14x) on premeditated MURDER ONE (14x) and then have a Judge do away with the militant muslim vermin, once-and-for-all. Who is Hasan, to deny abundant life to so many, who defend FREEDOM & democracy? Good research, Ken.

Unfortunately, this sewer rat will be tried under rules from the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) because he's military. I wish a Texas jury had the say-so in this case - he'd be toast.

The same thing will happen here with the jerkoff (Joker) James Holmes. One of the women he wounded Ashley Moser, the mother of 6 yo Veronica Moser, lost her baby when she miscarried due to the injuries and stress of surgery. So he brought double the pain on Ms. Moser. But Colorado law only terms it a fetus, so they can't prosecute on Murder One. That also happened with a woman who lost her child due to a hit and run accident. It would seem teh liberal left and Slick Hick do NOT want to change the law. Standard argument being that the Baby isn't breathing on its own yet and is therefore only a fetus. Very shallow reasoning but then what can you expect from the leftists.
When the SHTF I hope we can prosecute the Leftist Liberals under Rule .45. They are in dire need of it to put them out of their insanity.

Either a child "in utero" is a person or it is not. If it is, then abortion is murder. If it is not, then there was no "14th victim" at Fort Hood. If CANNOT be one way sometimes and the other way at other times depending on the whims of the woman. Even if she were alive PVT Velez wouldn't get to decide if the fetus in her whom is a person in the legal sense. The Supreme Court decided in 1971 that it is not. The legislature and the states have had 41 years to change that and have declined to do so. The same feminist mindset that allowed Francheska Velez to become PVT Francheska Velez also declared that the contents of her uterus were less than human. The two are inextricably linked - like it or not.
Personally think a child "in utero" IS a person, but conservatives are no more inclined to declare abortion to be murder than Obama is. Since Roe v. Wade has been settled law for more than four decades, and neither "electable" party is going to challenge it, it seems pointless to pontificate about it.
Adding one more murder charge against Hasan is political theater for conservatives.

Hassan was practicing his rights to Jihad. I suspect Barack Hussein will pardon him if he becomes a lame duck president. This issue is going to get even more nasty.

Barack Hussein is practicing his adopted rights of Jihad against US citizens. When will the rest of this country wake up and see this man for what he really is? When will the idiot liberals open their eyes? http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/overwhelm.asp

Back in the late 1970’s, in the aftermath of the fall of Viet Nam and the rise of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, early apologists for Pol Pot, ( mostly French – quelle surprise. ), gurgitated a remarkable spew of praise for the Cambodian maniac’s regime, citing that – finally – a “pure” form a socialism was going to be given a chance to flourish. Soon, offered the Marxist philosophes of Europe, a “people’s paradise” would flower in Cambodia and provide the example of how – given the unfettered chance of success - socialism could thrive and end the debate of it’s many assailants. Soon, the evidence of what socialism could achieve without the trappings of humanity became evident. A notable achievement of Pol Pot’s socialist paradise was even given a place of honour in the annals of progressive victories: The Killing Fields.
I cite this in reference to this article lest it be mistaken: The Obama Administration is the most utterly unabashed, unfettered, and baldy socialist regime to plague this faire land from the inside– ever. Far more to the Left than any administration has ever gone before, Obama and his personal Politburo of ‘czars’ are determined – as he has said many times over – to transform this nation into his own hateful vision of a socialist police state.
Why is that material to this article? It’s of a kind with every step, every executive order, each gleeful flouting of the Constitution, of piece with both Fast and Furious AND the Contempt for Congress that went with it. If anyone thinks that Obama will for so much as a breath link a crime and the death of Velez’s unborn child, ( unless it were able to attack the Catholic Church ), with or to Nidal Hasan they are living in the same implausibly delusional make believe world as their Dear Leader. Or Berkley.
Keep in mind that while the Bill & Hillary show was open and upfront about the role Hillary Clinton played in her husband’s administration, do not mistake the public silence from Michelle as proof that she’s busy shopping and lecturing fat kids. If anything, Michelle is even more radical and resentful than her husband. It is Michele who calls the shots in that family. And without doubt, she makes of what passes for policy in the Oval Office.
The leap from the criminally Anti American abuses in and by the White House to the Pol Pot regime and no further away than the 2nd Amendment – which is all that stands between the embrace of the two by the Head Stripling In Charge
