The Patriot Post® · NAACP's Black Supremacists Target Gov. Ron DeSantis
As Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis prepares to officially announce his 2024 presidential campaign, the Leftmedia talkingheads and scribes are, predictably, ramping up their smear campaigns. And they are doing so in coordination with their Demo cadres of race hustlers — with Joe Biden leading the chorus.
In search of relevance, the anachronistic NAACP has joined the Left’s anti-DeSantis front, issuing a travel warning to its members planning visits to Florida. It claims that DeSantis is guilty of “aggressive attempts to erase Black history and to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in Florida schools,” turning the state into an “openly hostile” location for its constituents. The warning added, “Before traveling to Florida, please understand that the state of Florida devalues and marginalizes the contributions of, and the challenges faced by African Americans and other communities of color.”
The NAACP has morphed from a once-legitimate and purposeful organization into one whose mission now is centered on demanding black privilege. It is ironic that for generations now, it has hitched its wagon to the socialist Democrat Party — the architect of “white supremacy” — which continues to keep millions of black and brown Americans enslaved by its poverty politics.
The NAACP joined with Equality Florida, a Rainbow Mafia advocacy group for the gender-confused LGBTQ+ crowd. They claim, “Florida has recently adopted a slate of hateful laws and is fast-tracking additional measures that directly target the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals and basic freedoms broadly.” In other words, DeSantis is not placing their priorities above all others, especially the fact that the state passed a ban on “gender-affirming care for minors,” more accurately called the sexual mutilation of minors.
Fact is, DeSantis has taken bold measures to discredit the Left’s woke policies, removing phony critical race theory curriculums from state taxpayer-supported educational institutions. He noted previously: “We believe in teaching kids facts … but we don’t believe they should have an agenda imposed on them. When you try to use Black history to shoehorn in queer theory, you are clearly trying to use that for political purposes.” And that is the modus operandi of leftist groups today.
NAACP chief Derrick Johnson laughably claimed, “Failing to teach an accurate representation of the horrors and inequalities that Black Americans have faced and continue to face is a disservice to students and a dereliction of duty to all.” He added that those actions are in “direct conflict with the democratic ideals that our union was founded upon.”
They are hoping to put a dent in Florida’s massive tourism industry, which in 2022 included a record 137.6 million visitors who contribute almost $125 billion to the state’s economy and support about two million jobs.
DeSantis responded to the “travel warning”: “This is a stunt to try to do that. If you want to waste your time on a stunt, that’s fine. But I’m not wasting my time on your stunts. I’m going to make sure that we’re getting things done here.”
This charade is the latest iteration of the Left’s “cancel culture” campaign modeled on the Demos’ hate and division political playbook strategy.
The Democrat Party is the most enduring monument to racial oppression in America, and regarding the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People’s complicity in that travesty today, I invoke the words of famed civil rights leader Booker T. Washington, founder of the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. In his 1911 book, My Larger Education, Washington wrote of racial agitators, words that are even more applicable to present-day race hustlers: “There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. … Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays.”
Footnote for the record: So-called “hate crimes” in Florida are a mere fraction of those recorded in the Demo-controlled states of New York and California.
