Planned Parenthood is a supposed nonprofit that only supports left-wing causes. It indoctrinates our children in sexual deviancy, provides services for hormone therapy for the gender-confused, and, above all, is the butcher that provides 40% of our country’s abortions.

As I noted yesterday, political commentator Bill Maher admitted that abortion is baby murder — just murder that he can approve or at least ignore.

Planned Parenthood just released its annual report for 2022-2023, boasting that it’s going above and beyond. Just what does it mean by that?

Perhaps what Planned Parenthood is claiming is that it’s the best at providing healthcare services. Founded by Margaret Sanger, a eugenicist who wanted to eradicate black people through abortion, Planned Parenthood constantly claims that it’s a healthcare provider. In fact, according to its report, it provided 9.13 million healthcare services this past year. It’s very careful to list abortion last and has structured it so that performing abortions is supposedly the smallest part of what it does. It may be the smallest terms of how “services” are tallied, but to Planned Parenthood, it’s the most important and the core of its mission.

National Review’s Michale J. New is quick to point out that Planned Parenthood’s health services have gone down significantly while abortions have gone up in record numbers. “Between 2022 and 2023, preventive-care visits fell by 31.0 percent, pap tests fell by 13.5 percent, cancer screenings fell by 1.4 percent, and adoption referrals fell by 4.5 percent,” New reports. “Interestingly, for every adoption referral in 2023, Planned Parenthood performed over 228 abortions.” Ah, “choice.”

New goes on to explain that this trend of fewer healthcare services is counterbalanced with more abortions provided. In fact, he writes: “The number of abortions performed by Planned Parenthood has increased by 20 percent. Meanwhile, cancer screenings fell by more than 58 percent, and prenatal services declined by more than 67 percent.” Why does Planned Parenthood keep cutting healthcare services but increasing abortions? Perhaps because abortions provide the largest amount of revenue. Planned Parenthood has gone above and beyond in abortions provided. Perhaps that’s what it really meant in its annual report.

An increase in the number of abortions is consistent across the board. The Guttmacher Institute reports a 10% increase in demand since 2020. Many abortions (63%) are done via Telehealth and mailed pills.

Planned Parenthood claims that providing abortions is only 4% of what it does. However, if it’s only 4% of what it does, then why does it dedicate a significant percentage of its annual report to the subject? In fact, in the healthcare section, that’s practically all it discusses.

That’s not the only disturbing thing in the annual report; American Life League’s Planned Parenthood watchdog division, STOPP, points out another: Planned Parenthood brags that it has lawyers working on legislation that challenges state abortion laws (whether it’s a ban or a gestational age restriction). This is important to highlight because Planned Parenthood is a 501(c)(3), or nonprofit, organization. This means that the IRS has restrictions on how such organizations can use their money.

As STOPP points out: “Planned Parenthood asserts that its lawyers are attempting to change laws in its favor through litigation and that the organization uses its nearly $3 billion in assets for influencing political activity. This report should be the centerpiece of criminal investigations into misconduct by Planned Parenthood and its board. You cannot mix, mingle, and misuse nonprofit money for improper purposes, and Planned Parenthood continues to do so to the tune of nearly $1 billion in donations and another $700 million in taxpayer money.”

Planned Parenthood should, at the very least, have its $700 million in taxpayer money revoked for this violation of its nonprofit status. Under the current administration, though, we shouldn’t hold our breath. Team Biden is more interested in going after pro-life protesters and ignoring the attacks on crisis pregnancy centers than upholding the law.
