Disney has been on the naughty list for years now. Especially since 2022, when former CEO Bob Chapek decided to go to war with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over his state’s Parental Rights in Education bill — or what the Left falsely smeared as the “Don’t Say Gay” legislation — Disney has faced intense scrutiny. What sort of company would betray its consumer base (parents and children) in favor of playing identity politics and forcing the LGBTQ+ agenda on young elementary schoolers?

Now, years later, we get this glorious statement.

“When it comes to animated content for a younger audience, we recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with their children on their own terms and timeline,” a Disney spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.

This is in reference to Disney dropping a transgenderism storyline from its new Pixar animated series called “Win or Lose.” The show reportedly has eight episodes, each following a different individual as a buildup to the middle school championship baseball game. As a result of Disney’s decision, the lines and scenes were rewritten for the character that was supposed to have a transgenderism storyline.

This decision is “absolutely seismic,” says OutKick’s Clay Travis. “This is Disney publicly acknowledging that Florida was correct to pass the so called ‘Don’t say gay bill.’ I don’t think most realize how monumental this is. They are completely and totally surrendering here.”

Of course, the decision is also purely financial. When Chapek made that fateful decision to allow woke LGBTQ+ activists to take the reins, The Walt Disney Company’s stock took a nosedive. It even had to issue an investment disclosure stating that “consumers’ perceptions of our position on matters of public interest, including our efforts to achieve certain of our environmental and social goals, often differ widely and present risks to our reputation and brands.”

Some of those “social goals” — i.e., the LGBTQ+ agenda in children’s movies — have led to dismal box-office numbers. Flops like “Lightyear” and “Strange World,” which included gay characters and storylines, set Disney back millions. This is in stark contrast to the reception this year of “Inside Out 2” and “Moana 2.” Both of these Disney sequels had decidedly clean, child-friendly storylines. “Inside Out 2” made $1.7 billion globally, making it the top-grossing animated film of all time.

Another aspect to consider is that Disney’s current CEO, Bob Iger, also promised to “quiet the noise” on culture war issues. Perhaps we are starting to see that in action.

One can also credit the resounding election of President Donald Trump as playing into these decisions. Kamala Harris’s campaign often tried to avoid transgenderism and gender ideology — particularly concerning “gender-affirming care” or allowing gender-confused boys to invade girls’ sports and locker rooms. President-elect Trump did not shy away from these issues. In fact, his most effective ad was the one stating, “Harris is for they/them; Trump is for you.” Americans do not like gender ideology, child bodily mutilation, or unfairness on the sports field. They voted against it.

While the culture war is far from over, and Disney is still on the naughty list, it’s nice to see such a resounding backtrack from Disney.
