Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is one of Donald Trump’s disrupters, and his job at the helm of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has been to undo the leftist orthodoxy among Washington’s health experts. That cultish dogma led to the tyrannical and scientifically dubious COVID response, among other things. It also accepts the gender mutilation of children, but RFK is putting the kibosh on that child abuse.

“Gender-affirming care” is the Left’s disgusting and deceitful euphemism for scientific experimentation in which a person undergoes hormone therapy, chemical castration, or physical mutilation to “affirm” the opposite sex of their genetics. Gender pathology is real, but it’s largely a social contagion, and it’s virtually always a mental problem, not a physical one.

Subjecting physically healthy children to barbaric experiments is especially sick and twisted. It should never happen in a civilized society, and it wouldn’t if the groomers weren’t so insatiable.

It will happen far less frequently thanks to RFK’s new rules. On Thursday, HHS announced several moves, including that it will cut federal Medicaid funds from states or hospitals that allow gender mutilation on minors. Twenty-seven states have already enacted such restrictions.

“The Trump Administration will not stand by while ideology, misinformation, and propaganda push vulnerable young people into decisions they cannot fully understand and that they can never reverse,” Secretary Kennedy said. “So-called ‘gender affirming care’ has inflicted lasting physical and psychological damage on vulnerable young people. This is not medicine. It is malpractice.” He also noted, “Sex-rejecting procedures are neither safe nor effective treatment for children with gender dysphoria.”

“There is divine worth in every person, and it shines most brightly in our children,” Kennedy added. “That worth demands us to protect it.”

Indeed, though I wish RFK felt that strongly about preborn humans. The Left embraced the deceitful slogan “Protect Trans Kids” as a way to mask the abuse, but Kennedy and HHS are actually protecting kids with these changes.

As Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, put it, “American taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for ideological experiments on our nation’s youth.”

FDA Commissioner Marty Makary added, “I’m going to say what you’re not supposed to say: pushing transgender ideology in children is predatory, it’s wrong, and it needs to stop.”

Note that, on Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed the Protect Children’s Innocence Act, which bans gender mutilation of children nationwide. Four Republicans — Mike Lawler of New York, Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Mike Kennedy of Utah, and Gabe Evans of Colorado — joined 207 Democrats in supporting child abuse. Senate Democrats are expected to block the bill because they, too, support sex-rejection experiments for kids.

I have argued before that the Left is basically a sex cult, but there’s absolutely an aspect of the entire “transgender” industry that can be explained with the phrase “follow the money.” It’s incredibly lucrative to create lifelong patients who “need” an endless supply of drugs, treatments, and procedures. Even better to start them young.

Yet these are unnecessary procedures for anyone — especially kids.

Last month, HHS released a 410-page report finding that, as our Emmy Griffin put it, “‘gender-affirming care’ has incredibly weak scientific justification.” That’s certainly not the only scientific or medical study to reach this conclusion.

Earlier this week, HHS defunded the American Academy of Pediatrics, which has been a huge proponent of abusing children under the guise of “affirmation.” The Academy and numerous others will no doubt sue over these moves. The sex cult is losing money, and members just can’t let that happen.

HHS’s efforts are welcome and necessary to protect the most vulnerable among us. And if medical professionals can’t “do no harm,” they should find another line of work.
