The Patriot Post® · TDS Overtakes Welker as Trump Walks Out of Interview
NBC’s Kristen Welker clearly hates Donald Trump, though there’s no love lost in the other direction. The two have a history. If nothing else, that was all abundantly clear as the president stormed off the set after cutting short an interview with the “Meet the Press” host.
“You’re a one-sided crooked network,” Trump fumed. “Let’s call it quits because I’ve had enough. Thank you, darling. Have a good time.”
She tried to coax him to continue, but he replied, “I sat in the rain with you for an hour — on and off in the rain, and I’ve given you enough time. You ought to straighten out your press. A country can never be great with a dishonest press.”
“We traveled all the way to Wisconsin for this interview,” she whined.
The end. So now, let’s back up.
The truncated interview aired on Sunday and featured a combative Welker going after Trump on numerous issues. It started with Iran, which took considerable time, though it’s not my focus here. Neither is the economy, which was their next subject. I’ll say only this about both subjects, as they’re related: Welker and the rest of her Leftmedia propagandists want to highlight the things they think will empower Democrats in the 2026 midterm elections.
Now, for what I consider the main course.
Things started to go sideways when she challenged him on his $1.776 billion “so-called anti-weaponization fund,” which was recently scrapped. “Are you backing off the fund completely, as your acting attorney general, Todd Blanche, has said, or are you looking for another avenue to revive the fund?” she asked.
He started by revisiting what Joe Biden’s administration did to Trump and his supporters.
People have been hurt so badly by radical left lunatics that worked for the Biden administration and Sleepy Joe. They’re vicious. They’re violent, what they did to people. And of course, they went after me more than anybody else. They raided Mar-a-Lago and all the other things. But people have been badly hurt. They’ve committed suicide. They’ve lost their jobs. They’ve lost their families. They’ve lost their wives. They’ve lost everything. They’ve lost everything over a fake weaponization of government.
Welker tried to turn it against the Capitol rioters who “attacked police officers,” asking if they “should get taxpayer money.” Trump didn’t take the bait — he was more interested in the broader point about Team Biden’s weaponization, which was the fund’s purpose.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen with the weaponization fund. I love the idea,” Trump said. “People like stupid Biden, he’s not smart enough to know what’s going on, but people that surrounded him … what they did to the lives of people, they destroyed people. They sent people to jail who did nothing wrong.”
Welker shot back that “there’s no evidence of what you’re saying, but let me ask about Todd Blanche.” (Variations of her condescending “there’s no evidence” retort were a regular feature of this interview.)
Why was the justice system weaponized against Trump? Primarily because of the 2020 election, which is where Trump took things next, as well as what he said is “happening again right now in California.” She was astonished, again insisting that there’s no “evidence” of rigging or fraud in California. She flatly asserted, “That’s how they count the votes in California.”
That’s also not evidence that no fraud happens.
Perhaps there’s no evidence of fraud in California because Democrats run the state with an iron fist and have ensured there are virtually no election-integrity rules and that it takes a week or more to count ballots.
As for the 2020 election, Democrats love to scream about the supposed lack of evidence of fraud, but for much the same reason. Yes, it’s true that most of Trump’s claims were tossed out in court, and that very few cases of actual voter fraud are successfully prosecuted. Yet that’s no reason for the Leftmedia and Democrats to gloat about the righteous nature of the system.
In 2022, I revisited the meaning of fraud. The short version of my argument is that Democrats and the Leftmedia rigged the 2020 election with “fact-checkers” censoring people on social media, specifically covering up Biden Crime Family corruption, and by generally suppressing conservative content — our reach was cut by roughly 80% leading up to that election. As for ballots, much of what we call fraud does indeed stem from legal election practice. In other words, mail-in ballots are rife with fraud that no one will ever find because states built a system without serious verification and called it good.
Creating a legal method doesn’t make it non-fraudulent, any more than Welker insisting “I’m just a journalist” makes her anything but a partisan hack.
Trump is not nice when liars attack him with an agenda. He’s a BS-er who hyperbolizes and darts around to keep opponents on the ropes. But if the media were simply honest, things would be quite different in this country.
