Re: Saving the Smithsonian From the Left

“This is not a new state of affairs. I was building historical woodwinds in the ‘70s and was under consideration to be a curator at the Smithsonian. I also played in the Smithsonian Chamber Orchestra and used my free hours to see and view the museum’s historical technology exhibits. It was impossible even then to ignore the ambient political outlook. It was consistently Islamist and far left, even then, as major exhibits were funded by Islamist interests.” —Texas

“Our family, who lived in Northern Virginia from 1975 to 2000, made frequent visits to the Smithsonian and noticed in the late 1980s and '90s how skewed to the left many exhibits were even then. The Smithsonian is a treasure house as our 'museum of American history.’ If its trustees want to avoid American history, they should work elsewhere.” —North Carolina

Re: TDS Todd Whines About America at 250

“President Trump has a rare ability to publicly present serious material in an entertaining manner while still retaining appropriate attention to its seriousness. This was on full display in his Independence Day Eve speech at Mt. Rushmore. He loves his country, and he knows its history correctly. And he’s president. Out of 300 million-plus Americans, there is probably no person better qualified to be the Master of Ceremonies and Chief Cheerleader at America’s 250th birthday celebration. And he did a great job of it.” —Minnesota

Re: What Is America? Trump and Mamdani Disagree

“America is not a communist nation. Those who despise her are free to leave anytime, unlike those who live in actual communist countries. Mamdani’s anti-American speech makes him a strong contender for the Silver-Plated Cow Chip Award, which should go to those who do the best job of cloaking odious misrepresentations ‘by smooth words and flattering speech [to] deceive the hearts of the simple’ (Romans 16:18).” —Minnesota

Re: The July 4th ‘Rosa Parks 2.0’ Photo Was a Blip in the News Cycle for a Reason

“Racism is the power card of the Left. It is shamefully exploited at every opportunity, real or not. This clarification is truly a welcome look at the manipulation of the American mind. As a woman, I would never get on public transport alone. One is too vulnerable and without means of quick escape.” —Colorado

Re: Mr. President, Get Iran Right!

“By doggedly pursuing a ‘negotiated settlement’ until the mullahs confronted him with their true nature, President Trump has once again proven the truth of Winston Churchill’s pithy observation: ‘The Americans can always be counted on to do the right thing — after they’ve exhausted all other possibilities.’” —Arizona

“Do more than ring Shia Iran’s bell — destroy them according to General Bell’s formulation!” —New York

Re: No, Amy Coney Barrett Is Not Ketanji Brown Jackson

“The comparison to Justice Brown is unwarranted. But a rundown of good rulings by Erick Erickson does not equate to the horrific ruling on the 14th Amendment, which fills me with nothing but contempt and disgust for these three supposed originalist justices. Original to what, exactly? Obviously not the Constitution.” —Indiana

“The statement ‘Recall that her life was threatened after she voted to overturn Roe v. Wade’ is true … and also significant to her inconsistencies. Thus threatened, an intimidated Judge Barrett reasons that she must be careful to throw a bone to the leftist dogs every once in a while — a tactic she is learning well from Justice Roberts.” —Colorado

Re: The Scales of Justice

“It is quite possible they fear a rabble backlash worse than the Roe v. Wade decision. And that would probably happen. So what? They are there to make the tough calls, exactly as the Founders did with the Declaration. I am beyond disappointed; I am contemptuous.” —Utah

Re: Appeals Court Tramples the Second Amendment, Upholding ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban

“The Second Amendment was written to protect the citizens against just this sort of power misuse. Perhaps the courts should remember that!” —Florida

Re: The Nolan Wells Tragedy: Truths We Can’t Ignore

“The middle-class working black community and a significant percentage of black athletes have stood silent for at least half a century with respect to the ever-increasing black-on-black crime. They want no part of being part of the solution. The majority of the press is complicit when it fails to report things like the fact that the violent rampages they call teen takeovers are almost entirely committed by black youth, and when they invariably report the race of a white person who attacks or kills a black person, but never report the race when the perpetrator is black.” —California

Re: AI Is Bringing Sticker Shock to Everything

“There’s an element of price gouging in the market. Some vendors have substantially increased the price of obsolete memory for older computer systems, even though it is entirely from unsold stock or removed from recycled systems, and has generated no manufacturing demand in years. Just as new cars are being priced out of the market and demand for used vehicles increased, people will start looking at used computers and phones newer than what they have rather than spend a month’s wages on new units.” —Minnesota
