The Patriot Post® · 'Critical Race' Training Banned for Fed Contractors
President Donald Trump unleashed another broadside against Marxism Tuesday, issuing an executive order barring the federal government from contracting with companies that promote critical race theory (CRT) training. It’s an expansion on his EO earlier this month banning all federal agencies from spending funds on employee CRT “diversity” training. Trump declared that he will not allow “race or sex stereotyping or scapegoating in the federal workforce,” nor will he work with contractors who “inculcate such views in their employees.”
The White House explained that Trump’s EO “prohibit[s] Federal agencies and Federal contractors from conducting training that promotes race stereotyping, for example, by portraying certain races as oppressors by virtue of their birth.”
“Such [CRT] ideas may be fashionable in the academy, but they have no place in programs and activities supported by federal taxpayer dollars,” Trump argued. “Research also suggests that blame-focused diversity training reinforces biases and decreases opportunities for minorities.” He further noted, “This destructive ideology is grounded in misrepresentations of our country’s history and its role in the world. This ideology is rooted in the pernicious and false belief that America is an irredeemable racist and sexist country; that some people, simply on account of their race or sex, are oppressors; and that racial and sexual identities are more important than our common status as human beings and Americans.”
He’s exactly right.
Predictably, the Left attacked Trump’s order as “racist.” ACLU Racial Justice Program Director ReNika Moore asserted, “Our country needs to acknowledge and reckon with its history of systemic racism and racial discrimination. Instead, the Trump Administration is leading with ignorance and moving to ban training that could help address the issue. This is an attack on the fight for racial justice.” No, it actually confronts the promotion of real racism via the false narrative of “systemic racism.”
While the Democrat Party has a long history of advancing divisive identity politics (there’s a good argument to be made that Democrats invented it), over the last couple of decades the party has become increasingly beholden to the hard Left and its Marxist “equity” ethic. Much like Black Lives Matter, CRT is really not about seeking to develop greater diversity and racial harmony. Rather, it’s a tool used to attack the Judeo-Christian ethic, Western Enlightenment culture, and individual Liberty principles upon which this nation was founded.
Democrats have largely embraced CRT as part of their divide-and-conquer political strategy. Trump’s action in banning CRT challenges the Democrats’ commitment, or lack thereof, to the U.S. Constitution and America itself. As Trump put it, “Americans should be taught to take PRIDE in our Great Country, and if you don’t, there’s nothing in it for you!” Trump is showing his resolve and mettle to go where few Republicans have been willing to go — directly taking on the Marxist bullies currently abusing America.
