The Patriot Post® · Kyle Rittenhouse Is Found Not Guilty
Kyle Rittenhouse has been found not guilty by a jury of his peers. We knew it all along, based on the facts of the case — and, indeed, we believed that the case should’ve never been brought. But our judgment didn’t matter a lick. Nor did the judgment of any other pundit or analyst or armchair attorney. The only judgment that mattered came from that jury of 12 just after noon Friday in the Kenosha County Courthouse.
“We the jury find the defendant, Kyle H. Rittenhouse, not guilty.”
After 15 days of trial and four days of deliberation, the jury forewoman delivered a resounding “not guilty” after each of the five counts. Then Judge Bruce Schroeder, who himself had been subjected to plenty of abuse from the leftist lynch mob, thanked the jury for their hard work and their conscientiousness, and he assured them that he’d look after their safety in the days ahead. Then he dismissed them. And that was that.
Upon hearing his fate, upon learning that he wouldn’t grow old and perhaps die in prison, 18-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse, trembling, turned and hugged his nearest lawyer. Then he left the courtroom. It was, to say the least, a deeply emotional moment not only for him, but also for his legal team, and for his friends and his family, and for every American who became drawn to this case and who fervently believes in the Rule of Law, and the Second Amendment, and the right of self-defense.
Justice has been served. And Rittenhouse’s co-counsels, Mark Richards and Corey Chirafisi, served him well. They debunked lie after lie from prosecutors Thomas Binger and James Kraus, and they proved utterly false the smears of “militiaman,” and vigilante,“ and "active shooter,” and “white supremacist.” And who knows? Perhaps Kyle Rittenhouse will one day soon file a series of civil suits against a recklessly irresponsible mainstream media and a disgracefully defamatory Joe Biden.
The jury having spoken, we’ll now wait to see whether The Mob will speak. As of this writing, all appears quiet in Kenosha. There are plenty of people milling about on the steps of the courthouse, but not a hint of disorder. Some bullhorns blaring back and forth, but no violence. Tonight? And tomorrow night? We’ll wait and see.
And so will the 500 Wisconsin National Guardsmen who were called up earlier this week by Democrat Governor Tony Evers, who seems to have learned his lesson from the violence of August 2020. There’s no appeasing The Mob. There never has been.
The jury has spoken, and justice has been served. Let’s see if the Left will respect it.
