The Patriot Post® · Pride Month: Not All Rainbows and Unicorns
You know it’s Pride Month when almost every store you enter, show you watch, or event you attend is plastered with token virtue signals. Rainbows and pride flags abound. Heck, NASCAR apologized for offending the Rainbow Mafia and the Marine Corps even added rainbow bullets for a promo pic.
President Joe Biden has affirmed that June is “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month.” He is following the tradition of two Democrat presidents before him, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, but adding “queer” and “intersex” to show how much more inclusive and progressive his administration is. This is also a political necessity because sexual identities have become an ever-expanding category.
As is often pointed out, the rainbow community has a myriad of liturgical holidays that are already on the calendar, such as “Transgender Day of Visibility” (March 31), “National Coming Out Day” (October 11), and another month dedicated to LGBTQ+ history (October). There always seems to be a reason for these folks to draw attention to themselves. This is seen in every political debate as well. But as Bill Maher, a lifelong Democrat, famously stated in a recent segment on his show, “Not everything’s about you.”
Liberalism is defined as a political and social philosophy that promotes individual rights, civil liberties, democracy, and free enterprise. In the case of liberalism when applied to LGBTQ+ people, our Mark Alexander said, “The private affairs of consenting adults, however sordid, are their business — until they attempt to normalize and nationalize them.” In this case, liberalism taken to its extreme has devolved into Queer Marxism in which LGBTQ+ “rights” take priority. Those who disagree are called bigots because standing up to some of the nonsense that the Queer Marxists are demanding would stifle their goals.
Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but not the right to encroach on the natural liberties of others. For example, gender dysphoric individuals have the right to claim they are the opposite sex, though this is obviously not the truth. When their right to live in self-delusion encroaches on other people’s right to privacy — i.e., women’s right to safe locker rooms and bathroom spaces — this becomes a big issue. Men have always been a threat to women. They are stronger and bigger. It has been proven over and over again that men with bad intentions can easily overpower women (not to mention girls). Creating an environment for gender-confused individuals to have access to a woman’s private space is insanity.
This fear that men claiming to be women would harm biological females is unfounded, according to “trans” activists. No one knows how many times worldwide men claiming to be “trans women” commit horrific crimes against females and children. These are just some of the men who have been caught. Some of these crimes were committed in bathrooms. Not every gender dysphoric man attacks women, of course, but how many is too many for the activists? Why create the environment for something like this to happen? Are the rights of women and children worth so little that delusional men can bulldoze all over them?
Rainbow activists also push the “right” to “educate” children about their sexual identities. Their agenda, which is being pushed in public schools, is violating parental rights. They are also violating the rights of children to a safe school environment. To quote Maher again: “If we can’t admit that, in certain enclaves, there is some level of trendiness to the idea of being anything other than straight, then this is not a serious science-based discussion. It’s a blow being struck in the culture wars, using children as cannon fodder.”
Pride Month isn’t all triumph and rainbows. It’s one in which the Queer Marxists feel free to exploit the current administration to push forward harmful agendas that diminish the rights of their fellow Americans.
