If you’ve been as enamored as we are of the House select committee’s hearings on the January 6 riot, we’ve got great news for you: They’re going to be extended into July.

Yes, Democrat committee chairman Bennie Thompson says they’ve received so much new and compelling evidence into the causes of the riot that they can’t possibly wrap things up before their Independence Day recess, from which they’ll return on July 12. “There’s been a deluge of new evidence since we got started,” said Thompson’s Democrat colleague and committee member Jamie Raskin. “And we just need to catch our breath, go through the new evidence, and then incorporate it into the hearings we have planned.”

Who knew that staging a rigged, one-sided, show trial of a hearing was such grueling work?

Meanwhile, the Washington Examiner reports: “The fifth hearing on Thursday will continue as scheduled and will center on former President Donald Trump’s use of the Justice Department to aid his efforts to challenge the election. Thompson also previously hinted at plans to hold another hearing on top of the seven announced.”

A committee spokesperson told reporters that they’d announce the dates and times of these additional hearings soon. Until then, we await with bated breath.

So far, we’ve learned many things — many straightforward, unbiased, incontrovertible things. As taxpayer-funded NPR tells us, here are the key takeaways so far: “Trump’s team knew it had no evidence or authority for its schemes … pressure [from Trump] was widespread, institutional and helped destroy personal lives … members of Congress were in on the pressure campaign … democracy is fragile [and] relies on people and their willingness to do what’s right … [and] polarization on the right has become poisonous.”

How’s that for objective analysis? Your tax dollars at work.

Oh, but what these hearings might’ve been with a bit of balance, with a bit of legitimacy, and with even a single real Republican on the committee to help seek out the whole truth instead of just the Trump-deranged one. Such a committee member might’ve made the case that columnist Margot Cleveland made yesterday: that the J6 committee has been obsessed with Team Trump’s original and long-since debunked election fraud claims of widescale tampering with voting machines and their software, and it has aggressively ignored the very real tactics that Democrats used to rig the 2020 election.

As Cleveland writes: “That there was no widespread fraud in November 2020 doesn’t mean that the election was not rigged to keep Donald Trump out of the White House. … But stealing an election by fraud is not the only way to rig an outcome. Elections are rigged when systemic violations of election law occur, disparately favoring one candidate and allowing for tens of thousands of illegal votes to be counted.”

Cleveland then lays out the manifold ways in which the 2020 election was rigged, from the illegal drop boxes placed in Democrat-heavy precincts, to the Pennsylvania legislature’s unconstitutional authorization of no-excuse absentee voting, to Philadelphia’s ballot-curing shenanigans, to Wisconsin’s refusal to follow the state’s election code in nursing homes because of so-called COVID restrictions, to Mark Zuckerberg’s $419 million get-out-the-vote campaign in Democrat-rich districts of hotly contested swing states, to Georgia’s failure to enforce signature verifications and its willful ignorance of evidence that more than 35,000 illegal votes were included in the state’s tally.

And then there’s the rigging that was done by our corrupt mainstream media and its Big Tech brethren. Cleveland covers that, too, from the press refusal to report that “Hunter Biden provided his dad, the ‘Big Guy,’ a 10 percent kickback from the various millions made in a pay-to-play scandal” and Twitter’s blocking of the New York Post’s reporting on the Hunter Biden laptop bombshell — a bombshell that the mainstream media and its deep-state toadies assured us was merely “Russian disinformation.”

As Cleveland concludes, “The Jan. 6 Committee may be correct that there is no evidence of widespread fraud altering the outcome of the November 2020 election. But the election was still rigged against Trump six ways to Sunday.”
