Has there ever been an “oppressed” group with more clout and power than the Rainbow Mafia?
Having just (and finally!) concluded the latest Pride Month yesterday, it’s a good time to reflect on all the ways the LGBTQ+ “community” has taken control of our country. From TV shows and movies to classrooms and curriculums, from food to clothing to even shelter, rainbows litter the landscape of America as a way of flouting the sexually deviant life choices of a tiny minority.
“As Pride Month Ends,” jokes The Babylon Bee, “Americans Look Forward To 11 More Months Of Still Pandering To LGBTQ Community.” Too true. That is the same Babylon Bee, by the way, that lost its Twitter account for “misgendering” Rachel Levine.
Fail to pander, lose your free speech.
Corporations of every stripe pay homage to this minority by flying the rainbow flag or even incorporating it into their logos. (Well, in America, if not the Middle East, where homosexuality is still punishable by death.) Even magazines like Bon Appetit, which is supposed to be about reviewing and sharing food, have devolved into paeans to sexual deviancy.
On the one hand, why wouldn’t these companies comply? Rainbow Mafia types are relentless boycotters, and if a business doesn’t bow the knee, it will feel their wrath.
That will only get worse, we hate to say. Amidst rampant inflation, energy issues, and a humanitarian crisis at the border, Democrats in Congress are busy pushing a “Transgender Bill of Rights.” There are 84 Democrat cosponsors. These “rights,” of course, will come at the expense of the rest of us, perhaps especially parents.
By the way, we use the term “life choices” because that’s exactly what’s going on here. The “born this way” mantra of homosexuals is built on the smallest sliver of truth regarding innate traits or desires, but that is undermined by the “born the wrong way” slogan of the “transgendered.” And we don’t reject all of this celebration out of hate, as the Left alleges, but out of love of truth and compassion for the people lost to gender dysphoria of one sort or another, or manipulated by a movement bent on grooming new recruits.
Recruitment is why the movement isn’t as tiny as it used to be. The number of people self-identifying as some level of gender confused is approaching 5% of the population as a whole, but it’s far higher among young people. Even leftists like Bill Maher are alarmed by this drastic shift among children. At the current rate of growth, he joked, we’ll all be gay by 2050.
The tragic part is that kids who are sexualized into deviancy will live a lifetime of doubt and regret over those choices. That’s if they don’t commit suicide, which of course the Left blames on the Right. Maybe — stick with us for a minute — the groomers should bear some blame for that.
God’s design for sex, as outlined in Genesis and reiterated by Jesus in the Gospels, is in the context of monogamous male-female marriage. Deviating from this prescription is roundly condemned by both Old and New Testaments as a serious perversion of God’s design. Faith aside, that perversion comes with natural consequences. Now, instead of helping people leave such things behind — or never take them up in the first place — modern “progressives” are twisting God’s design of a rainbow to celebrate deviancy from His design for people created in His image.
Pride, indeed.
