The family — the nuclear one with a mom, dad, and children — is the foundation of (Western) society. It is also the central feature of Christian teachings. But alas, the family is being attacked from every angle by radical leftists who see it as the greatest barrier to reshaping the world into their perfect utopia.
Just how do these radicals see a utopia coming to fruition? The first step is adhering to the belief that there is no family. There are men, there are women, and they can sleep with whomever they please. The children who are the product of these relations are not bound to their progenitors. Instead, they are considered property of the state. There is no morality or absolute truth, only a society that is dead inside.
Without moral standards, evils like abortion, eugenics, racial discrimination, sexual deviancy, and gender theory are explored to their ultimate deprived ends.
The radicals have already laid the groundwork for this to happen to Western society. The education system and the medical establishment have teamed up against parents, most effectively in the area of gender ideology. Children, without getting a viable medical opinion or sound advice from a psychologist, are fast-tracked onto the transgender merry-go-round of hormones, surgery, and despair. The parents of these unfortunate children are also given an ultimatum: Allow their child to “transition,” or live with the horror of their child committing suicide. (That’s a false choice, by the way.) In some places, parents who resist gender-affirming treatment lose custody of their struggling child.
There are drag queen story hours in local libraries, there are “kid friendly” drag shows that encourage families to attend, and in Chicago a hospital has teamed up with some of the schools to offer sexually deviant toys and access to kink and BDSM.
Abortion is the destruction of family. Its uglier next step, eugenics, classifies that there are some humans more worthy of life than others. Instead of family with all its foibles, it’s a hollow promise of perfection.
In terms of racial divisions, Black Lives Matter (BLM) — the group that alleges systemic oppression and calls for the dismantling of our institutions — has openly spoken about the need to get rid of families. In BLM’s original manifesto that was quietly deleted in September of last year, it said, “We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another.”
The family and conservatism are a tradition worth fighting for and a hill worth dying on. Living in a family unit helps ward off poverty, abuse, and the vulnerability of children. According to The Heritage Foundation: “Across the globe and throughout history, families have been the source of economic and social stability. Particularly in the United States, two-parent nuclear families are the leading preventers of poverty and abuse.” Heritage cites the American Enterprise Institute’s Ian Rowe, who found, “Being raised in a married-couple household led the poverty rate for black children to go down 73 percent compared to mother-only households and 67 percent compared to father-only households.”
Families are not perfect because humans are not perfect, but the institution of family is the best and most promising way to maintain a thriving and healthy society.
