Karine Jean-Pierre has the toughest job in America: lying on behalf of Joe Biden. Trouble is, she’s not very good at it. Jen Psaki? Silky-smooth liar. KJP? Not so much.

A case in point came up last week during the daily White House press briefing when Jean-Pierre, in a back-and-forth exchange with Fox News’s Peter Doocy, denied the reality of the Biden administration’s porous southern border. Take a look:

Doocy rightly wondered about the idiocy calamity incongruity of allowing millions of illegal aliens to stream into our country and stay here despite not being vaccinated while one of the world’s healthiest men, tennis star Novak Djokovic, is being denied entry and thus denied the ability to compete in the U.S. Open tennis tournament for the sole reason that he chose not to get vaccinated.

“But that’s not how it works,” she stammered. “It’s not like somebody walks over.”

Memo to KJP: That’s exactly how it works.

The Border Patrol agents themselves couldn’t believe what they were hearing. “There’s only two reasons she said that, and that is either she is extremely dumb or she is flat-out lying and hopes America is so stupid we would believe her,” said one agent. “18 USC 1001 says it is a federal crime to knowingly make false statements to the U.S. government. Too bad the government is not held to the same standard as the citizenry, and that is assuming [Jean-Pierre] is not dumb but just a liar.”

“She is absolutely ignorant to the reality of all the documented footage or just continuing [Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro] Mayorkas’ delusional lie,” said another agent. “This administration must believe that the American people are fools like their mainstream media comrades.” (Ouch. Here in our humble shop, we call that last sentence a twofer.)

Texas Senator Ted Cruz went a step further, delving into Jean-Pierre’s emotional state: “There are two and only two possibilities,” he said on his “Verdict” podcast. “Either she is deliberately ignorant — she has no idea what’s happening at the border — or she’s deliberately lying. There’s not a third possibility. It is one or the other.”

Then Cruz challenged KJP directly:

So, I’m gonna make an invitation right now to Karine Jean-Pierre. If you believe it’s not happening that people are walking across the border, Karine, I invite you, come to Texas. Come to the Rio Grande Valley, spend one hour on the border, and I promise you, you and I will see dozens, if not hundreds, of people walking across the border. You can pick any damn hour of the day you want. You can come at two in the morning, you can come at noon. You will see them coming because they are coming every single hour.

To no one’s surprise, Jean-Pierre chickened out. “I’ve been to the border,” she said in response. “I went in 2018. I stood outside facilities where the Trump administration was separating families, tearing babies out of their mother’s arms. Some of those kids still haven’t been reunited with their families, and so, one thing I will say is I certainly don’t need lectures or invitations from Republicans about the border or border policies.”

Well.

Next thing we know, KJP will be telling us that Scranton Joe’s Border Patrol didn’t just unlock a gate in Eagle Pass, Texas, to allow illegal aliens to stream on through. And that five million people haven’t crossed into our country during Joe Biden’s 19 months in office (the official count is more like two million). And that the number-one killer of Americans aged 18-45 isn’t fentanyl overdoses.

But in each of those cases, she’d be lying. Incidentally, five million people is more than the populations of Alaska, Delaware, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming combined.

But, no, folks aren’t just streaming across. That’s not how it works.
