Imagine that: The Biden administration is tapping into Federal Emergency Management Agency funds to cover the cost of busing and flying illegal immigrants from the southern border to so-called “sanctuary cities” around the country.

Your tax dollars at work.

At the end of August, it was revealed that the administration reimbursed the border town of El Paso and local nonprofit organizations for costs related to shipping two busloads of illegal immigrants from Venezuela to New York City. It was the first bus run of what is expected to be an open-ended operation.

No word yet on what New York City Mayor Eric Adams had to say about this new arrangement. But he sure was sore when Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey were sending illegals up to his sanctuary paradise earlier in the summer. Likewise, Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser screamed for help from the National Guard when busloads of illegals from the border states started showing up in her illegal immigrant safe haven. We can only imagine the howls of outrage on Martha’s Vineyard (like Barack Obama) now that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has flown a couple of planeloads of illegals up there.

Apparently, it’s only wrong if Republicans do it.

Biden is pulling money from a variety of sources to pay for his immigrant shuffling scheme. One of these sources is the Emergency Food and Shelter Program, a FEMA fund set up in the 1980s to address homelessness. Now that it’s apparent that blue states like California and Illinois no longer care about the brisk growth of tent cities in and around their progressive utopias, that money is being funneled to help illegals caught and released at the border to settle around the U.S., presumably in locations of their own choosing.

In addition, Biden is bilking Immigration and Customs Enforcement, perhaps with designs on changing its mission from deporting illegals to shuttling them around the country. The president has also asked for $1.8 billion in additional funding for Health and Human Services to house illegal immigrant children. There is also concern that Biden will enlist his beloved Amtrak to ship immigrants en masse from the border to various parts of the country.

According to Customs and Border Protection, there were nearly 200,000 illegals at the border in July. Most were caught and released. The total number of illegal immigrant encounters for this fiscal year, which ends September 30, is just shy of two million. Last fiscal year, that number was 1.7 million. (Encounters are defined as the interception of illegal immigrants attempting to cross the border with federal border enforcement. But this doesn’t account for how many are caught and turned back, or those who aren’t encountered at all — numbers that are suspiciously hard to come by. The administration is likewise mum on how many illegals it is shuffling around the country and to which locations.)

The administration and its friends in the media maintain this is done to protect the identity of immigrant children. This is also the excuse given for late-night flights and bus arrivals that take place while the citizens and the journalists in these cities are asleep. Another reason given for shuttling illegals under cover of darkness is that it’s cheaper. But since when have Democrats cared about spending other people’s money?

Speaking of Democrats, their water-carriers at PolitiFact went to great pains recently to explain that there’s nothing different in what Biden is doing than what his predecessor, Donald Trump, did with regard to using public transportation to shuttle illegal immigrants from the border to the interior of the country.

The big distinction that PolitiFact and the rest of the media ignore, however, is that there wasn’t a full-blown border crisis under Trump. These so-called established practices have been kicked into high gear to cover Biden’s failure to secure the border.

To no one’s surprise, Vice President and Border Czar Kamala Harris tried to push the laughable idea that “the border is secure.” To which an incredulous interviewer, Chuck Todd, responded: “We’re going to have two million people cross this border for the first time ever. You’re confident this border’s secure?” Yes, Harris insisted, and any problems are — wait for it —Trump’s fault. The Biden administration, she says, is just “trying to fix … the deterioration that happened over the last four years.”

Ultimately, Joe Biden will push this deliberate border disaster in any direction that will stick. He ridiculously blames Trump for the problem while trying to hide the human evidence on late-night trips to undisclosed locations. It won’t work. But this invasion will continue unless and until the American people rise up at the ballot box and say, “Enough.”
