The Patriot Post® · China Wanted Biden to Win
The Red Chinese had a rooting interest in the 2020 presidential election. To no one’s surprise, they were pulling for Joe Biden to beat Donald Trump.
“I had some very good Chinese friends, high up in the government,” said former Democrat Senator Max Baucus on Politico’s “Deep Dive” podcast, “and I talked to them before the [2020] election, and they said they hoped Biden would win the election and not Trump.”
We’re shocked — SHOCKED — to learn that the lying, thieving, murdering ChiComs wanted the decrepit old patsy and not the tough guy. What a surprise that the Chinese wanted the guy who was already beholden to them as an influence-peddler rather than the America-first businessman who consistently hammered them as unfair traders and currency manipulators during his 2016 campaign against Hillary Clinton and throughout his presidency.
Trump was strong. Biden is weak. It’s that simple.
Baucus, after retiring from the Senate, served as Barack Obama’s ambassador to China from 2014 to 2017. Since then, he’s been playing both sides of the fence as a paid adviser to both American and Chinese companies. Nice work if you can get it. He runs a consulting firm for Chinese companies, and he serves on the board of Alibaba, the giant Chinese e-commerce retailer.
As The Washington Free Beacon reports, Baucus also sided with the Chinese during the Trump administration: “Baucus was a vocal critic of Trump’s policies toward China, even appearing on Chinese state television to bash the administration’s policies. While vice president, Biden advocated for Baucus’s appointment as ambassador to China, likely prompting Baucus to endorse Biden’s 2020 presidential bid.”
We wonder: How does a guy like this show his face back home in solidly red Montana, except perhaps in the liberal college towns like Missoula and Bozeman?
As for which president the Chinese preferred, Baucus was trying to make it seem like a good thing that our nation’s foremost geopolitical foe wanted his guy, Joe Biden, to win the presidency: “Why? Because they said, ‘We could deal with Biden.’ They thought because he’s steeped in foreign policy and he was chairman of that Foreign Relations Committee, he’s reasonable, whereas Trump just flies all over the lot. You never know where Trump is going to go.”
Translation: They wanted Biden because he was already beholden to them, and because they knew they could roll him.
Perhaps realizing what he’d said, Baucus tried to offset his remarks by saying that although the Chinese favored Biden during the 2020 campaign, they’ve now “changed their mind,” having concluded that “Biden’s rhetoric isn’t as anti-China as Trump’s, but his policies are more anti-China than Trump’s.”
Uh-huh. One of Biden’s tough “anti-China” policies allowed a Chinese spy balloon to traverse the U.S. while flying over our ICBM siloes, our strategic bomber command, our Oak Ridge nuclear facilities, and our Mid-Atlantic naval bases. Another such policy has allowed China to produce and push deadly fentanyl across our porous southern border and kill hundreds of Americans every day with impunity. Still another allowed Biden to meet for three hours with Chinese President Xi Jinping in November without the topic of COVID-19 — much less its origin — being uttered even once.
Yep, these are tough “anti-China” policies, alright.
