The Patriot Post® · Bribery Recordings of Joe, Hunter, and Burisma?
The news keeps getting worse and worse for Joe and Hunter Biden — so much so that we half expect to see, any day now, some kompromat of the Big Guy cavorting around with his son and some of those Russian prostitutes.
We’re sorry about that. Some things are tough to unsee.
Otherwise, it’s hard to imagine how things could get worse for the Biden Crime Family — or, for that matter, for the FBI’s corrupt “Republican” director, Chris Wray — given the recent FBI whistleblower revelations that the bureau has been sitting on damning evidence of a 2015 payment of $5 million each from Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky to both then-Vice President Biden and his influence-peddling son Hunter in a scheme to stop an investigation of the corrupt Ukrainian energy company by a state prosecutor.
Oh, we suppose there could be, say, some audio recordings of these incriminating conversations between Zlochevsky and the Bidens — something that Team Biden’s lawyers couldn’t obfuscate their way out of, something that the American people could really sink their teeth into.
We suppose. But what are the odds?
As it turns out, pretty good.
Iowa Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, the 89-year-old corncob in the Bidens’ britches, said Monday that the Burisma executive who allegedly bribed Joe and Hunter Biden thusly kept 17 audio recordings of his conversations with them as an “insurance policy.”
These latest revelations, Grassley said, are related to the now-infamous FBI FD-1023 form — the form whose very existence Wray denied before finally fessing up when Grassley informed him that he’d already seen it thanks to the aforementioned whistleblower. So much for Wray’s Herculean efforts to hide these truths from the American people and run out the clock on behalf of the Bidens.
In a decent world with a decent attorney general, Chris Wray would be unemployed by now, and he’d be back home sorting through a couple of banker’s boxes, wondering where to put the extra stapler and the extra scissors and the extra Scotch tape dispenser. In a decent world.
“According to the 1023,” said Senator Grassley, “the foreign national possesses 15 audio recordings of phone calls between him and Hunter Biden. According to the 1023, the foreign national possesses two audio recordings of phone calls between him and then-Vice President Joe Biden. These recordings were allegedly kept as a sort of insurance policy for the foreign national in case he got into a tight spot. The 1023 also indicates that then-Vice President Joe Biden may have been involved in Burisma employing Hunter Biden.”
Apparently, the Burisma bigwig believes this present spot to be of surpassing tightness, or perhaps he’s simply not satisfied with the return he’s gotten for his investment in the Biden Crime Family.
It’s funny, not funny: This is the kompromat that we were warned about; the smoking gun of Donald Trump’s collusion with the Russians; the thing we were regularly and repeatedly promised by Adam Schiff and countless other Trump-hating Democrats throughout the course of his presidency. Except it isn’t Trump who’s compromised. It’s Joe Biden.
Remember: These aren’t classified materials. The bureau isn’t protecting national security secrets here. Congress should have access to them — and so should we, the American people.
Grassley concluded: “So, as I’ve repeatedly asked since going public with the existence of the 1023, what, if anything, has the Justice Department and FBI done to investigate? The Justice Department and FBI must show their work. They no longer deserve the benefit of the doubt.”
Indeed, the FBI long ago lost the benefit of the doubt. For years now, the bureau has behaved more like the Democrat Party’s secret police rather than the world’s foremost investigative agency. And if, as the old Greek adage goes, a fish rots from the head, then Chris Wray is rotten. As was Andrew McCabe before him. And smarmy, simpering James Comey too.
So, two questions: First, where are the calls for Wray’s resignation? “Republican” or not, he’s a disgrace and an embarrassment, and we’d rather have a corrupt Democrat leading the bureau than a corrupt Republican. At least then, we’d know what to expect.
And second, where’s the special counsel for the Biden Crime Family? Trump’s special counsel has been working overtime, while the special counsel who was appointed by Merrick Garland to look into Biden’s, ahem, innocent mishandling of decades’ worth of classified materials has apparently checked into the bureau’s witness protection program. Does anyone even remember that dude’s name? It’s Robert Hur.
We’re not alone in wondering about a special counsel. Here’s the Washington Examiner’s editorial board:
The “big guy” himself and his top aides repeatedly took meetings with shady foreigners who were funneling millions of dollars to Joe Biden’s family when he was overseeing policy toward those foreign interests. Complicated policy questions in Ukraine, Russia, Romania, China, and elsewhere were pursued in ways seemingly beneficial to the Biden family’s benefactors. Payments were funneled through shell corporations not just to Hunter and Jim Biden but to widows and paramours and even Joe Biden’s grandchildren.
With all of these indicators of corruption, and with three different people saying the “big guy” is involved, the Justice Department’s inaction looks incoherent and inexcusable, especially as Trump is being dragged into court. … A special counsel should be appointed to investigate it.
This has gone on long enough. As the New York Post reports, “The bribery allegation against Biden was first made in 2017, but the informant file read by House lawmakers last week was created by the FBI in June 2020 after that tip received fresh attention.” In other words, these materials have been in the FBI’s possession almost as long as they’ve had Hunter’s laptop.
And yet this is the first we’re hearing about them.
Remind us: Just who is the FBI supposed to be working for, and just what is its mission supposed to be?
