Re: A ‘Sweetheart’ Special Counsel

“I know it sounds conspiratorial, but there is an answer to the question, ‘Who benefits?’ When the brazen conflict of interest, malfeasance, and general ineptness of the whole Biden scandal are examined, the only conclusion that can be drawn is that there is a preferred 2024 candidate waiting in the wings of the Democrat establishment. This would solve the problem of an obviously disabled Biden.” —Kentucky

Re: Monday: Below the Fold

“A recording of President Trump’s phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Raffensberger was posted online in 2020. I listened to the entire call. Missing from media accounts is Trump’s assertion that his team had evidence that over 50,000 votes in Georgia were cast illegally. Trump then said he wasn’t asking the secretary to investigate all 50,000, but he would be satisfied with 11,781. It was plain his intent was to make the task seem less daunting, but it would have been better to just ask where to send proof of the irregularities. It is not a crime to bring a complaint to authorities that something was wrong with the process. President Trump did not ask the secretary to ‘overturn the election,’ only to look at the ballots in question.” —Minnesota

Re: Steube Files Articles of Impeachment Against Biden

“Wow! Two Republican representatives filing articles of impeachment against Joe Biden. There needs to be more. What’s the holdup? Biden is a known child trafficker, flying unaccompanied minors who crossed the border to government locations, where they are handed off to sponsors, many of them of unknown virtue. The children then just disappear. We know this to be true. Biden needs to be asked about it. How about the drugs coming across the border? Fentanyl killed tens of thousands of Americans last year. That, too, is on Biden. Someone needs to ask him about it. Is the GOP just going to watch the Democrats march in lockstep to victory in 2024? Probably so.” —Ohio

Re: Tuesday: Below the Fold

“Who would be injured by the Biden administration’s latest scheme to buy the votes of current student loan debtors? That would be prospective college students. If current student loans are not repaid, the funds for future student loans will have to be acquired by issuing new currency — this will drive up inflation, leading to higher interest rates on new loans. The scheme adds to the national debt, which will burden these future taxpayers for their entire careers. What is more, the Biden administration irresponsibly enabling irresponsibility puts the existence of the student loan program at risk. Congress may be forced to terminate it as part of an austerity program necessary to prevent collapse of the the federal credit rating.” —Minnesota

Re: Dramatic Rise in Suicide Isn’t Because of Guns

“‘The bad news is the suicide rate surged for people 45 and older, especially white men. And the nearly 50,000 suicides don’t include accidental overdoses, which were roughly double the suicide number.’ There is so much in those two sentences! White men are probably tired of being blamed for EVERY evil thing in the world that happens. Accidental overdoses are probably people using crack or heroin recreationally or habitually and getting that little added boost of fentanyl sent by our friends in the CCP of China. It took the NVA, with Russian help, eight years to kill 58,000 Americans. America’s war on drugs is laughable.” —Texas

Re: In Brief: Gun Laws Don’t Matter, Race Does

“Anyone with any sense would condemn this ‘research’ as wrong. If you want a cause of people killing people, look at our permissiveness, our drug culture, our destruction of the family, the attack on religion, the breakdown of the Rule of Law, and so many other cultural breakdowns. Families of all colors want the same things: safety for their children, economic security, education, good health, and love. When you have a government that promotes divisiveness and hate, you get racism and crime. We have had prior leaders who speak of being together, seeking family unity, asking our communities to participate in kindness and support. We used to have common purpose through religious teachings. Who are our teachers today?” —Washington

Re: The Calamity of California

“The trouble is that a majority elects these people. The same voters go to the polls year after year and elect or reelect the same folks, then we read about how the city/state/nation has gone to hell. But the voters reelect them or new ones from the same bag. Then they move somewhere else and bring their dysfunction with them and elect similar clowns in their new home. ‘Stuck on stupid’ is universal.” —Virginia
