State of Disunion
· Thursday, January 21, 2010
"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." --Article II, Section I, U.S. Constitution

Barack Hussein Obama is preparing to deliver his first "State of the Union" speech, a self evaluation of his first year's achievements.
Sprinkled between his infamous "let me be clear" or "make no mistake" introduction to his prevarications, he will, characteristically, attempt to spin a plethora of failures into something good using these phony fallback phrases: back from the brink; signs of recovery; restored our reputation; achieved some successes; more work yet to do; fiscal restraint; greed on Wall Street; affordable health care; relief for working families; jobs created or saved, and, of course, investing in America, a euphemism for taxing and spending.
He'll also use the word "inherited," as in "I inherited this mess." He'll speak of "unprecedented" reforms or achievements or challenges. And he'll mention "those who seek to do us harm," but he won't dare utter the term "Islamic terrorists."
All of this will be sandwiched between lots of "I" and "me."
In advance of his teleprompted propaganda, then, let's take a reality check on Obama and his first year.
Never before in the history of our great nation has any sitting president held so much disregard and outright contempt for our Constitution and Rule of Law.
Perhaps the operative words in his oath were, "to the best of my ability"?
Of course, what were we to expect from a Marxist, whose views on government and economy were shaped by his surrogate father and communist mentor, Frank Marshall Davis; whose first campaign for political office was launched by Maoist anarchists William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn; whose political career has been stewarded by the likes of Leftists Richard Daley, Michael Pfleger, Khalid al-Mansour, Rashid Khalidi, et al.
And don't forget his religious mentor, Jeremiah Wright, who married Barack and Michelle and baptized their children.
Wright preached hate, plain and simple: "The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government gives [black people] drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strikes law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, g-d d--- America. G-d d--- America for treating our citizens as less than human. G-d d--- America."
Wright sermonized that our great nation is in fact the "U.S. of KKK-A" and is "controlled by and run by rich white people. Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run. We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in god. And god has got to be sick of this sh-t!"
How did Obama respond when asked about his pastor's perennial anti-American tirades? "It sounds like he was trying to be provocative," concludes Obama.
At a foundational level, Obama's ability and his agenda have been shaped first and foremost by his condition as a pathological narcissist, a young man driven by a blinding need for acceptance and its coefficient, power -- the result of a childhood characterized by his father's, and then stepfather's, rejection.
It should be noted that the young Barry Obama did not ask for or deserve the hardship he suffered as a child any more than millions of other children abandoned by their fathers today. In that respect, he deserves our compassion.
However, Obama's insatiable pathological need for power renders him a very dangerous person in power.
He was elected on a promise that should have served as a warning sign: "This is our moment, this is our time to turn the page on the policies of the past, to offer a new direction. We are fundamentally transforming the United States of America."
He ran his charismatic campaign on a promise of "hope," but in the words of Patrick Henry, "It is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth -- and listen to the song of that siren, till she transforms us into beasts."
As for "fundamentally transforming" our nation, that is a thinly veiled reference to an outright assault on our Constitution and our Essential Liberty, one that thrusts an ever more powerful central government upon us.
Not since 1860 has the Union been at such odds with the fundamental rights of the States and the People.
Obama's effort to endow the central government with absolute authority follows his Socialist political playbook, Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals."
Obama was elected just weeks after an economic collapse which can be tied directly to Leftist economic policies.
His effort to "Reclaim America" involves taxing and borrowing more than a trillion dollars from the private sector, sifting it through the bureaucracies of his political appointees, then "investing" it into the public sector to grow government and pay off his special interest constituencies and other benefactors.

He is plundering private sector resources under the pretense of private sector "job creation."
He has attempted, with some success, to nationalize, by way of regulation, coercion or "investment," the major industrial and service segments of the economy -- including energy, banking, investment, education, insurance, automotive and real estate -- and he has supplanted free enterprise with Socialism.
He is endeavoring to nationalize our nation's largest single economic sector, health care, and he laughs off any suggestion that there is no constitutional authority for such folly. Moreover, the House version creates 111 new oversight bureaucracies. (1)
He has attempted to advance his domestic agenda on a global scale under the guise of "climate change."
Further, Obama's national security failures present even greater peril to life and liberty.
Coddling Islamic extremists, bowing to Saudi kings, apologizing to the world, politicizing terrorist interrogation methods at Gitmo, treating terrorism as "criminal activity" and moving the trial of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to New York, using Operation Enduring Freedom as campaign fodder and setting a timeframe for withdrawal from Afghanistan -- these and many more grossly errant policy decisions served only to hinder and demoralize us and our allies while empowering and emboldening our enemies, thus enabling jihadi attacks against our uniformed Patriots abroad, and even domestically, such as the murder of 12 soldiers, one civilian, and an unborn baby at Ft. Hood.
Of course, there were other ridiculous gaffes, like the one at his last public press conference (six months ago), when he offered his impromptu assessment of the arrest of his friend, Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, by claiming that the Cambridge Police "acted stupidly." His subsequent "beer summit" was a forced and feeble attempt at damage control.
And then there was the Nobel Peace Prize, a ridiculous Euro-leftist albatross of an award that was bestowed upon Obama just days after he ascended to the presidency.
Were it not for the threat of unbridled laughter, Obama's SOTU address might also reflect on some of the most egregious prevarications from his brief tenure.
On his plans for massive government expansion: "Not because I believe in bigger government -- I don't."
On his grand Socialist schemes: "I've never bought into these Malthusian, woe, Chicken Little, the earth is falling -- I tend to be pretty optimistic."
On the so-called "stimulus package" (i.e., record debt): "Less than one month after taking office, we enacted the most sweeping recovery package in history, and we did so without any of the earmarks, pork-barrel projects that are usually accompanying these big -- these big bills."
On bailouts for behemoth auto producers: "Let me be clear. The United States government has no interest in running GM. We have no intention of running GM."
On his friends at ACORN: "You know, it's -- frankly, it's not really something I've followed closely. I didn't even know that ACORN was getting a whole lot of federal money."
On blame shifting: "You haven't seen me out there blaming the Republicans."
On taxes: "I will tax just the rich. I want to give a tax cut to the middle class."
On the cost of ObamaCare: "It won't add to the deficit. And I mean it! ... It's designed to lower it!" And how about this one: "I have not said I am in favor of a single-payer system."
On the transparency of his health care "reform" deliberations: "It's going to be on C-SPAN."
On jobs (record unemployment): "My administration has created or saved... [ad nauseam]." (2)
On the political influence of grassroots Tea Party participants: "Those people waving their little tea bags around..."
Clearly, Obama has underestimated the influence of those who support America's First Principles. In addition, he has also grossly misread his mandate as the heir of the once-noble Democratic Party.
These miscalculations were manifest in the recent Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial elections, and again this week in Massachusetts.
Who woulda thunk it -- that in the most liberal state of the union, whose legislature hastily amended laws so the governor could immediately appoint a Demo replacement for the seat vacated by the U.S. Senate's most liberal member, Ted Kennedy, who had occupied the seat for 47 years since the departure of his brother, JFK, and whose life ambition was to nationalize health care, whose designated replacement, Martha Coakley ran on his platform -- who woulda thunk that a Democrat who just weeks ago held a 30-point lead in the polls would be defeated by Scott Brown, a moderate Republican state legislator of the Mitt Romney variety, who ran on a platform against nationalized health care?
Clearly, the loss of a Senate seat in Massachusetts is a major reality check for Obama. When asked about the rising rejection of his "vision" for America, Obama responded, "I think the assumption was if I just focus on policy, if I just focus on this provision or that law or if we're making a good rational decision here, then people will get it."
In other words, "The people are just too dumb to get it."
And speaking of "the people," when Scott Brown was asked in his last debate with Coakley if he would be willing to "sit in Teddy Kennedy's seat" and vote against the health care bill, he responded, "Well, with all due respect, it's not the Kennedy seat, and it's not the Democrats' seat, it's the people's seat."
Every Republican and Independent running for election or re-election in 2010 should, first, take that cue from Brown -- the seats they seek belong to the people. Second, they should take a cue from Ronald Reagan, who left a timeless template for success: Run on a platform that, first and foremost, insists on the re-establishment of constitutional Rule of Law, and then governs accordingly.
For too long, too many Americans have been complacent about liberty, believing it to be their birthright and the birthright of generations to come. They have enjoyed the fruit of liberty defended by others, taking rights for granted and knowing nothing of the obligations for maintaining that blessing.
Most Americans have never had to fight for liberty and, thus, have little concept of its value or any sense of gratitude for its accumulated cost -- a cost paid by generations of Patriots who have pledged their Lives, their Fortunes and their Sacred Honor.
The election of Barack Hussein Obama was an egregious affront to our legacy of Essential Liberty, and a clarion call to action for the many good citizens who honor the rights and obligations of citizenship.
As was the case with the first American Revolution, we now face a crucial battle for liberty. The upcoming elections, more than any other in recent history, are about the restoration of constitutional integrity.
Fellow Patriots, this is our time. The road to recovery is long, but the momentum is with us.
Footnotes: 1. With the election of Brown, ObamaCare in its present form is dead, but expect Obama to call for passage of revised legislation, which has support of both Republicans and Democrats. Once passed, it can then be readily amended.
2. Credit where credit due -- Obama's recovery plan has not created any real jobs, but it did secure new employment for at least three Republicans: One in Virginia, one in New Jersey and now one in Massachusetts.

Very well said. Cogent summary of the past year's nightmare for our Republic. The end of this Progressive/Marxist reign can not arrive soon enough for America.

I enjoy your publications and look forward to reading them every day. I am no fan of Obama or of his reckless leadership and policies. Today I see a photo of the president "giving the finger". I usually appreciate your humor, but I do not appreciate this attempt. It seems the photo is "doctored" to give the impression he is "flipping us off". We don't need a doctored photo with a vulgar message to form an oppinion of this man. We know how he is by his words and actions. Please, keep the humor on the decent side. There is no need really to stoop to a photo trick that one may expect the "other side" to play.

Your comments are what's wrong with this country. Both republicans and democrats just attack each other rather than try to work together for the good of the country. It's all about power not accomplishments. George Bush was no better than Obama. At least Obama got water to Haiti in one day. It took Bush four days to get water to New Orleans. It easy to hide behind the idiotic printed words you sent me. It takes guts to try to work with the opposition to improve this great country. The same goes for the democrats.

To take back our beloved country from the progressives we must first take back our schools. IF you have not looked at your children's text books lately, you need to. They are being taught that America is bad. No true history is being taught and nothing about our Constitution appears in most history books. The college level is even worse. They don]t even permit Conservatives on campus these days!

The problem with "politics" is that all politicians are going to the same goal, which means "instant Communism" or "incremental Communism" but the goal is the same - Communism. A Statesman insists on the "upholding and defending the Constitution, So help me God."

My greatest fear about any government formed health care is that once it is in place the political machine can take it anywhere they want. Now that President Obama does not have the votes to ram this through, it sounds like he is willing to make concessions to health care. But once it goes through on any level they can change it to make it work for their agenda. I fear for our people and for the generations to come.

You're organizsation is doing a great service!!
I find the Obama health care reform process to be interesting. I can't understand the manner with which they are going about foisting on us their radical ideas. Because those in politics know better than anyone else that to achieve the end goal you use the "incremental technique" of change. Sudden change in a democracy will often bring a backlash of the constituency (as we are seeing) and as a result the end goal is derailed.
We all know the story of the frog who jumps into pan of warm water. If you heat the water slowly, at some point in time, the frog will "wake up dead." But if the water is hot initially the frog will immediately jump out.
What concerns me now is that the radical Dems. are not giving up on implementing their version of reform in health-care. As they said yesterday they will bring back health-care reform piece by piece. In other words they are going to use the "incremental technique."
We need to see their plan for what it is. The "changes" will be nothing more than if the pan is lukewarm and they will heat it slowly to the point we'll "wake up dead" if we don't remain vigilant.

It is my opinion that the election of Barack Hussein Obama will be seen as the single most important event of our time in the preservation of liberty. His election did what no other act seemed capable of doing.....it awoke the American people to the fragility of the precious gifts of freedom bequeathed by the founding fathers and the need for constant vigilance in defending it.
It also shoots down a theory I held that no president could ever be worse than Jimmy Carter.

Ifear that we may slip back into cmplacency in November based on what will be the past victories of this new year.Projecting that the left will process these stunning defeats as a clarion to shelve the overall socialist agenda. This could be crippling. I believe they will continue to twist arms and bribe fringe elements into a subtrefuge effort to create a false sense of perceived security for the initiatives so far won, and dissapate our resolve. I pray this will not be true.

I quite agree with you. However, find me the last president (Calvin Coolidge?) who consistently upheld the Constitution. To take the oath seriously a president, or legislator for that matter, would find it necessary to veto, repeal or otherwise reject at least 95% of all legislated laws, rules, regulation and SPENDING.

Mark,
I thought you were dead on in your essay. My only arguement is with your misquote in footnote #2. Obama has created 1000's of jobs in the public sector. Though they do not boost the economy and actually add dollars to the deficit, the paychecks received by those filling those positions are very real and in some cases, the only income flowing into the home.
Keep up the GREAT you and your staff do.

Don't forget Obama accepting an appointment as head of UN Security, thus tying US closely with UN leftist policies.
Nor should we forget Copenhagen, with 3 or 4 jets, or the bid for Chicago Olympic's, with it's 2 jets, where on both occasions "friends & family" rode free, like some kind of big "all expenses paid vacation", billed to the taxpayers.
Then when Copenhagen failed, our government went to plan B, and allowed the EPA to regulate the very air we breath-out. Resulting in a projected cost to the US taxpayer of $90 Billion dollars in higher utility costs.
Yes, we need to give credit where credit is due, and this Administration is credited with much.

Conscience-based opt out of post-rape contraception
Provide info about emergency contraception to rape victims
Support legalized abortion, but not partial-birth abortion
Supported by right-to-life groups for stem cell stance
Authored bill for 24-hour waiting period for abortion
Abortions should always be legally available

Good health care is the dream of all societies, but that is not the way the medical corporations want it. Keeping people healthy won't make them money. GREED IS THEIR ONLY DREAM and they don't want your money going back to you.
So now your politically appointed right-wing-nut Supreme Court judges have given huge corporations Cart Blanche, the unbridled ability to buy the
US government away from the people, such as yourselves and therefore nullifying our wonderful democracy and creating a grand international plutocracy. This is CRAPITALISM!
Thank you for bringing our nation down to its knees faster then the World Trade Center fell on
9-11. The cancer now rules the body and as we all know, the body will die along with the cancer. You fools who fell for their game are in for something much worse than Bush left us. WASHINGTON, JEFFERSON, ADAMS and LINCOLN will despise your actions or lack there of. Your party, as you have allowed them to make it, has failed the people and yourselves. They, the corporations don't care about you, so you had better wake up and take the power from them. I trust you guys and your guns more than I trust them. They are now the real enemy!!!!

Everyone is assuming we will have an election in November. I am not so sure. Isn't it possible to trump up a national crisis, Declare Martial Law and then just hold power like the communists did in the former USSR. I for one do not trust this administration at all. I do not believe they have anything at all that is in our interest. The signs are there for a complete takeover of our country. Taxation without representation, Unconstitutional programs,Namby pamby treatmt of the enemies of our country (Man caused disaster indeed). Then to rub our noses in it; move trials of known terrorists to our soil inviting more terror attempts. It may well be that we have awakened too late. I sincerely hope that God will intervene and stop this "man caused disaster" but He does not always work that way. Arise patriots stand to the colors! defend this great nation, because we seem to be lacking in patriotism ourselves.

Mark, your 1-21 essay is one that should be kept and read weekly by every patriot. A perfect summation of Obama and his first year in office but I liked even more your statements on liberty and how so many people have taken them for granted. It is my believe that the one good thing coming from the Obama presidency is that people are seeing that liberty can and will be taken away if patriots don't do anything to stop it from happening.

Mark, your essay of 1/21/10 was spot on. What really troubles me is that many of the misguided morons who voted for this Marxist thug still believe in him. And they will vote for him again in 2012 if he runs again. He may sit in the oval office, but he is not my president. He has usurped the office. And only time will tell if the people of this great land understand how corrupt his entire administration is and either impeach him or demand he resign before he does greater harm to America.

Extremely well written and concise, but it does somewhat miss a rather major, fundamental point, even though that point can certainly be inferred....and that is, the present problem with our nation, and the vulnerablility of freedom and liberty, is not Obama. Rather, it is that enough of the citizens of this great country are so ignorant and brainwashed that they would vote this transparent Marxist and his far left liberal henchmen and women in congress into office. We can never rest on the fragile laurel of hope that something like this can never happen again!
Any semblance of a guarantee to salvage and retain freedom and liberty will only come through some very fundamental changes to our societal infrastructure. We will need to make tough decisions in areas like how we allow our children to be taught in school, how our legal system often works at odds with individual liberty, and how we allow political correctness to stifle basic and life saving truth. And, of course, those are only the tip of the iceberg. A return to conservative values, while sounding like a monumental goal for America as a whole, is critical for our long-term survival as a truly free country.
Minus this, what can possibly keep another hostile takeover from happening again?

Excellent summary of the nightmare that was 2009. I hope that the populist movement, that we saw begin with the Tea Party rally's (I was one of "those" people as was my teenage son), that resulted in wins in Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts, will continue on thru this fall's elections and put Obama's advance in reverse. The statist's agenda of Obama/Pelosi/Reid/Frank/Dodd/Schumer et al can not be derailed soon enough. We still have 3 more years of an Obama administration and I hope for liberty's sake, it is only 3. Keep up the fight Patriot Post!!!

great column, since becoming disabled, the last 8 yrs have given me the chance to be a REAL citizen. i researched barry in 06', it was easy, i tried alerting all i know and other's that a lifelong communist was going to run for the presidency. lot's of co-conspiritor's! as a jurist at AMERICAN GRAND JURY, the most important thing i've ever done as a citizen, was to vote to indict barry & nancy. AGJ is the only avenue i can find, who are ACTIVELY trying to evict the communist usurper. you cannot impeach someone who is not eligible for the office, for those who don't understand whats actually happening in DC. this column points out nicely that we the people, have the duty to bring all the criminals in the white house & the congress to justice. yes, it will create a lot of chaos but, to do nothing about the crimes being commited against our constitution, frankly, is SUICIDE. LOOK at your kids, then start thinking real hard. again, great column.

I wrote this to my senator from NY
Dear Senator,
There are some people in this state who think you are doing a fine job just as some delusional individuals feel the president is doing a good job. I personally do not think a sufficient job is being done for our state or me in general and the president is too ignorant to see the events happening.
As a physician we look for all kinds of signs when diagnosing a condition. There is no question this nation is sick and New York even sickest. Most of the electorate did not like what Bush was doing and wanted CHANGE but never asked what the change would be when they chose a new leader.
Well it is now obvious there are many signs people do not like what was and is going on in our government. You and your arrogant, egotistical, elitist bunch still have not seen the signs of dissatisfaction, which is happening. Your arrogance is to just force-feed the people what YOU assume is wanted.
Signs have been brewing all summer and with early elections, and since you do not perceive them no need to recount them for you. I ran for congress in 1976 with the desire to get the government off the backs of the taxpayers and proclaimed at the time we would some day spend more on health care then we do on national defense not calculating wars. Lastly I wanted term limits to instill some courage and integrity into our government. We still need these same changes today.
Now more then ever I know I was right. If I were younger I would try to pull a Scott Brown here and run you out of office. The signs are right and all we need is the person to save this dying state. Keep doing as you are and if we find the right person then it will be your turn to look for a job.

The author wrote this very well and the statements resonate with those who uphold the constitution and bill of rights.
The author however left out the final line of the oath, "so help me God."
Jobama will use all of the catch phrases listed to mitigate his abject failures.
His grades for the year will look something like this:
Uphold the constitution and bill of rights, F
Promoting America, F.
Protecting soveriegnty of America,F.
Protecting terrorists, C.
Protecting our allies, F.
Transparentcy of government, F.
Making deals (or attempts)to hurt America, A.
During his state of the union address next week he will we know try to mitigate his failures, and will not be proud of his good grades.
He has two options; He can blame Bush again, or he can blame his lack of "to the best of my abilities."
I doubt he will admit God has not helped him, not even Allah has helped him.
My money says he will blame Bush, and ignore his lack of abilities to lead America on a prudent path. His socialist mindset can only be changed by the people.
We the people can stop him. Let's get it done.

Mark, just finished reading a column by Nicholas Wishek (listed as an educator) in today's Orange County Register which I would like to quote for your readers but as it is excellent but lengthy will only quote the closing paragraph. I'm almost positive he is a subscriber to the Patriot Post as he is definitely aligned with us in his writings, to wit: "When Rep. Joe Wilson yelled "you lie!" at President Obama he was telling the truth. The leaders of this administration have lied to us time and time again. Like the pigs in 'Animal Farm,' some animals are more equal than others, I guess. As voters we need to remember that revolution is not always violent. This administration and the Democratic Party are attacking our way of life. When next we vote, we must vote to stop them. Perhaps the vote in Massachusetts will be the first step."
I recommend reading Mr. Wishek's terrific complete column. Go to ocregister.com to the Opinion (Editorial) Page.

Obama was elected just weeks after an economic collapse which can be tied directly to Leftist economic policies.
Mr. Alexander, was it LEFTIST ECONOMIC POLICY to repeal the Glass-Steagel Act?
That sounds more in tune Adam Smith's INVISIBLE HAND.
But it's true that Bill Clinton with his coterie of economic advisers DID get the ball rolling.

I had thought perhaps the past year was just a bad dream, but each of those Obama-isms brought back to me the fact that watching the person holding our highest elected office is truly a man with little conception, for that matter connection, to the America that most of us hold dear. He sees America as a canvas upon which it is job to paint some enduring legacy. But instead of a man with a vision, he is like a surprised lottery winner, ready to throw around other people's money in order to build himself up while engaging in massive waste.

While reading Mark lambast Obama, I couldn't help but think - "myopic!", "myopic!" Mark's litany of complaints was so long that I was eagerly awaiting the end. Don't get me wrong, Mark's criticisms are dead-on and well-deserved but I've heard or thought of most of them before and there's a whole other side of the misery to complain about - the Democrat congress. We can't be so hyper-focused on the boob in the White House that we become blind to the congress!!! As so so so many conservative pundits have pointed out, CONGRESS IS GOVERNING AGAINST THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE. Folks, this is serious. Roughly 2/3 of America has said "no" to the Democrat congress' initiatives, yet they persist to impose their will upon us, ram their regulatory bills down out throats, and run roughshod over our Constitution. This is insubordination at a minimum. We must wake up and smell the coffee, and run these hoodlums out on a rail.
If you took your car in for a new muffler, trusting your mechanic to replace only the muffler, with original quality parts, and charge you a fair price... And instead he disregards your request and replaces the entire engine with a different one, built in timbuktu, half the size of the perfectly-fine original, and expects you to gladly pay for his work, that you didn't want, how would you feel? Good? Bad? Betrayed? Raped? This would definitely be a bad day. Do you think you might have a legitimate beef with your mechanic? Do you think?!!
This, and more, is exactly what the Democrat congress is attempting to do with health care and the other big government initiatives that we're all so alarmed about. Rather than creating taxpayer-requested legislation for us, they are creating taxpayer-rejected legislation to enchain us. Do you think we should have a legitimate beef with them? Do you think?!!
If you think I'm mistaken, I can solidify the point by simply purveying the notion that we have a congress nearly half-full of Obama think-a-likes. Imagine if Pelosi were president. What kinds of draconian initiatives might she attempt? What about Harry Reid? - same question. Chris Dodd? Barney Frank? Maxine Waters? And the list can go on and on and on.
And we thought the liberal Bush was bad. He's a pathetic pansy compared to these snakes.

Sir:
Certainly I am glad that Mass. elected Mr. Brown. He seems like a good guy, and smart. It is good that he will be a significant addition to the number of GOP'ers in the Senate. However, I don't know yet how conservative his ideas are, and what issues he will support. I have seen him state in interviews that he will vote against the Senate health care reform bill as it is not good for Mass. But he also said that he did vote for the health care plan in place in Mass. Is it one of the state plans that is bankrupting states?

Hello,

He has a very dishartening look on his face, as if he is telling us what he is thinking. He looks like he is saying you can go to He#$. Also take a good look at the finger he is leaning his forehead on. Is this an indication of what he thinks of the American Public and where he expects us to go.

I am from Tennessee and we had a form of "Health care" and it is horrible. It was getting so bad that the State Legislature and the Democratic Governor were using those words, "Bankrupt the State". There are "NO FREE LUNCHES" and the government that tries to convince the citizens that there are, we'd better "MARK" them.

Don Wade and Roma show with Andy Shaw, long-time ABC 7 TV political reporter, as substitute host.
Andy was interviewing Terry Moran, Nightline anchor. The discussion migrated over to what the Obama administration will do in the wake of the Massachusetts election results, when the People spoke loudly, rejecting Obama and the Democrats' agendae. Apparently, Terry's sources tell him that, fearing a decline in popularity for Obama, the president's top political advisor, David Axlerod, is planning to "repackage Obama".
"Repackage"? Repackage? As in... disguise? As in... painting stripes onto a horse to get a zebra, for example? As in... trying to hide something's true nature? Yes, that's it.
Relating to politics, does Axlerod plan to somehow repackage Obama by attaching an elephant's trunk to the face of that jackass? Would that make Obama's socialist "hee-haws" any less shrill? Or maybe Axlerod thinks that when his jackass boss, once again, stubbornly settles back onto his haunches into his socialist mudhole quagmire, Axlerod can yank on that trunk a bit and drag the pathetic jackass to the right?
Folks, this is smoke and mirrors. You can crop the ears of a jackass but it will still be a jackass.
Get prepared for some big political maneuvering ... some big ass-covering.

To JULIA who said, "but the Obama White House has created many new jobs...in the government and its affiliate sectors." and was asking the PatriotPost to publish some facts and figures about this:
You might be interested to know, several pieces ago, Mark Alexander presented some facts that showed the average government worker makes somewhere around $30,000 more per year than the average private sector worker. I found that statistic astonishing and alarming. The government creeps are creating make-work jobs for themselves at an ever-increasing rate. The employees are making more than their employers!

In response to Mr. Timmerman's comment. Sir, you miss the mark. The Post IS Proactive. The reason our nation has fallen from grace is because we have become self-indulgent, complacent, and promote ingorance; a true "Bread and Circuses" society. The Post is educating those that seek truth; those that desire to make a difference in restoring our Constitutional Republic to its former glory. Read your History (factual history) and you will see that no correction in our degredation can take place until the citizen are educated in historical fact and take responsibility for their civic duty.
You are correct about the greed and powermongering in Washington. Who is responsible for controling it? WE are at fault for putting the worst of choices in position to abuse their trusted power. WE are to contain the power and greed. Therefor, WE educate and act. Just as the articles in The Post do. Also, their promotion of their Essential Liberty Project. Look at their credentials. The organizations activist groupsthey are members of and their devotion to teaching the ignorant public as to the truth of God and Country. What are YOU doing to make America a better Republic?

In response to Julia: I am a retired military defense contractor, or rather I work for a small contracting company. We were working on a 1 year contract with four option years (commonly called a 1+4 contract). This particular contract was started Oct 08. I was laid off last week because somewhere higher than the local base said to end it. The Base was going to hire GS workers to do the work in the future. They may hire me, but when? Our "customers" were floored by this decision and caught totally unawares by this, they have a lot of work that was awaiting funding, and now nobody to do the work. I believe IMHO that someone higher wants to get rid of all govt contractors and replace them with higher paid GS jobs. Too bad that person has no idea or doesn't care about the people who have bills to pay and no income until "they" get their new department up and running.
I suspect that this is happening all over the country.

Greed and self-interest is what drives capitalism, people. Nobody creates goods with the intent to be totally altruistic. People who make cars in Detroit do not care about people around the country who buy these cars - they care that they have a job and are remunerated for their efforts. So, why are you demonizing greed in the pursuit of self-interest and the resulting of interest of consumers at large?
Do you think farmers brake their backs to work long hours to farm acres and acres of food in order to provide sustenance for everyone? No, they do it for self-interest, to provide a better life for themselves and their families.
Doctors work long hours for the sake of patients to a degree but also to provide a good life for themselves, for their families, to pay off huge college debts, to invent a new drug to help people, a new medical device, to win a Nobel, and/or remain in the history of medicine, etc.
Society benefits from greed and self-interest. Can harm come from unchecked greed? Of course.

Toni Hupp: You are correct! Until we take back our schools from "progressives," nothing will change, we will continue our downward spiral into oblivion and dictatorship.
I would go a step further, we should close ALL schools of education as they are breeding grounds for communists and indoctrinate future teachers into utopian ideals.
The curriculum is usually very short on substance, but loaded with philosophy of education classes, methodology of instruction, the latest con words for brainwashing, etc.
Tenure is awarded based on progressivism and, if a professor is conservative, forget about EVER receiving tenure.
The more "progressive" and radical a teacher is, the more awards and accolades he/she receives from the school/university or various NEA affiliated organizations.
These College of Education professors and students score in the bottom 50th percentile on any National Teacher Exam as opposed to Arts and Sciences graduates who score in the top 50th percentile and actually know their subject area of expertise. Yet, these Arts and Sciences graduates cannot teach nor receive a teaching license unless they go through the indoctrination process of the College of Education. In other words, the College of Education, the very breeding ground of communists, has a monopoly on our children's education.
To make matters worse, the NEA has devised a National Teacher Certification which allows its communist members to carry teaching licenses from state to state and awards them $6,000 extra pay each year for ten years! Under the supervision of a "seasoned" indoctrinator, an awardee must jump through the hoops of making a video and writing ridiculous lesson plans that bear no resemblance to what actually happens in the classroom. The final product is graded by carefully selected members of NEA.

Mark,
Unfortunately, everything you summarize in your essay is true. Unfortunately, many who helped elect Obama were deceived into thinking they would be getting something else. Fortunately for all of us, there is still time to correct the grave mistake we made in bringing this man, and these people, to Washington.
I have never been more disgusted with the American electorate as I have been this past year. The ignorance of our populace, of course, was part of the strategy of Obama. His team counted on it; they hope to perpetuate class division in this country to such a level as we have not seen in recent history. I, personally, have more hope for the "minorities" of this land, in seeing the errs of their ways, than I do of the intelligentsia in their fantasy world.
Fortunately, our country is waking up to the truth. Your essay, Mark, sobering as it is, is the most thorough critique I've read of this abominable administration. Thank you, and God Bless you, for your work and your service!

The photo of President Obama making a spledid gesture reminds me of something I noticed in the US Embassy yesterday morning. As Secretary of State Clinton had a traditional head and shoulders photo where the subject is centered in the frame with an American flag in the background, both President Obama and the VP had photos where they were significantly off-set to the left! So, as you look at the image, the flags are on the left, and the subjects left shoulder is out of the picture, of course offset to the right as you're looking at it, but indicating that the subject of the photo is leaning significantly to the left! I found this quite amusing that it would be so blatant. I'm sure someone just thinks it's "artistic and modern" I think it's just being who you are.

Your included sample tirade of Jeremiah Wright calls to mind the old story of the man who cursed this country in Revolutionary War days, and was condemned to live out his life aboard a sailing ship since no other country would have him. Since society is more liberal and compassionate nowadays, Wright should be provided involuntary transport to any one of a number of countries in which political dissent is sought for, and honored. Of course, Iran immediately comes to mind. My intended sarcasm falls flat, tho, since he already considers the U.S the great Satan, and would thus, fit right in.

I don't know the circumstances surrounding the first photo in the article, but I believe it clearly demonstrates Obama's attitude toward America and her people!

Great essay, Mark! And all this failure in only one short year. But, seriously, folks. Laying aside all the teleprompter rhetoric, all the "Hope and Change," all the continued harping on the shortcomings of the administration he inherited, exactly what good has Mr. Obama accomplished? I'm trying desperately to give the man SOME credit, but can unfortunately find none to spare.
Thanks for all the good work you do.

Our dear leader's latest kick in the face of his former supporters has been to send a Billion dollar present to Hamas, our and Israels bitter enemy.
The Ayatollahs in Iran must be laughing about that as they refine their Uranium!

AIG was too big to fail. The big three automakers were too big to fail. But who will bail out America? America isn't too big to fail. Rome wasn't too big to fail. Nor Assyria, nor Egypt, Sumer or the USSR.

Only one complaint btw Mark. I do believe everyone should be quoted accurately. I know the "Reverend" Wright's words were shocking but they ought to be printed as they were spoken. America needs a shock. The "Reverend" Wright has said similar things about God too by the way. I wonder what or who the "Reverend" Wright reveres.

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty -- Wendell Phillips.
I know that the nationalists are waiting for patriots to slip once again into their torpor and allow the machines to once more use us for power, the vampires to harvest our blood (is it any wonder movies like "The Matrix" and "Daybreakers" are so popular?). Patriots must never close their eyes, never take the blue pill - to do so is to allow the chains to fall unnoticed about their necks.
Take shifts; wait back-to-back; keep your powder dry. God be with you all, Brothers and Sisters!

I guess I do not like the photo of Obama giving all of us the finger even though he has screwed all of us over. The photo is a doctored one and therefore not in to good of taste. Thanks for your paper it is great. DR Brown

The following was written on January 21, 2010 at 12:06:04 PM by Mike B. and Dan Brown also complained about the photo today at 3:19 PM.
Before they complain too much I'd like to say that I have two videos from the campaign where Obama does EXACTLY the same thing to Hillary Clinton and John McCain. If they don't believe me, that's too bad. I recommend going to YouTube or googling Obama, Finger and Hillary to find it. If they care to find the truth.
"Today I see a photo of the president "giving the finger". I usually appreciate your humor, but I do not appreciate this attempt. It seems the photo is "doctored" to give the impression he is "flipping us off". We don't need a doctored photo with a vulgar message to form an oppinion (sic) of this man. We know how he is by his words and actions. Please, keep the humor on the decent side. There is no need really to stoop to a photo trick that one may expect the "other side" to play.

Editor's Reply:
The photo is absolutely not "doctored." Obama has a well-known habit of employing this subliminal message with his adversaries. At present, it would seem that is the majority of America.

Mark. I am still befuddled as to why the press hasn't made a bigger stink over Congress' personal Health Plan. I find it inexcusable and unconcionable that they (Congress) are so narcissistic as to boldly, "in your face" declare that they should be exempt from the hideous plan they wish to unload onto us. Oh, well, what should I expect from a group that also votes on their own pay raises and all other benefits? My idea for term limits would start with the minimum age requirement...make them ineligible to serve until they turn 65...and then have their pay scale set at their personal Social Security level. We were a CHRISTIAN majority nation and intitled to all of Gods blessings. With the election of the devil we have become a christian minority nation and can only receive limited blessings from God.
We are in the fight of our generatin and the outcome is not sure. To the walls! defend our God given constitution! Are we no less than our Grandfathers who vanquished the evil of their time?
Beware of the oily words from the slick salesman for if we heed them we are decieved.

The first speech I heard this guy give way back in his early exposure to the public, I decided he was a total phoney. Being an old proofreader for a regional daily, I listen to a speaker differently than most folks. I am "reading" his words as he says them. He didn't say one damn thing. All "word salad". He still keeps making speeches that way. His speech tutoring is obvious by the rising then dropping off tones in each of his words. When he gets befuddled by a reporter's "bad" question he reverts back to his "original" no teleprompter speech style which can often expose just a touch of ebonics style in it.

What ever possessed the people of these United States to vote for this loser in the first place?? If it were for a history making event, that will surely come to pass, as Obama will be labeled as the worst President of these wonderful United States that this country has ever had! I am sure he will be allowed to finish his term, but if the American people, in their infinite (or should I say infantile) wisdom, allow him a second term, we may as well kiss our constitution good-bye!!!
