Media Blames Israel for ‘Hospital’ Attack
A wayward rocket exposes the mainstream media’s bias, and the American president’s shuttle diplomacy falls flat.
You’d think these utterly depraved people, these unrepentant haters of America and Israel, would’ve learned their lesson by now.
But no. The mainstream media proved to be as predictable as ever yesterday, racing to publish a story about how Israel was responsible for the rocket attack on a Gaza hospital on Tuesday that supposedly killed “hundreds” of “Palestinians.” Get a load of the initial reporting from the ardently pro-Hamas, Blame Israel First crowd:
Media outlets around the globe were quick to run Hamas’ headlines—without fact checking.

We now know that an Islamic Jihad rocket aimed at Israel misfired and hit the hospital in Gaza. pic.twitter.com/DzJgsbxS4i
Sanity seems to be settling in, however, albeit not before the initial damage was done. As the Washington Examiner reports, “On Wednesday, the IDF released an intercepted call, which the organization said was between two Hamas operatives, in which they can be heard discussing the claim that the strike was actually a failed PIJ rocket launched from a cemetery behind the hospital.”
A transcript of a recording of some Hamas operatives is telling: “They are saying [the rocket] belongs to Palestinian Islamic Jihad. It’s from us?” says one alleged Hamas member in the recording, while the other responds: “It looks like it. … It misfired and fell on them. … God bless, couldn’t it have found another place to explode?”
A look at the raw footage released initially by the IDF might point to an Israeli Iron Dome shootdown of an enemy rocket, whose fully fueled remains ended up hitting a Gaza hospital.

Or did it hit the hospital? Might it be that the projectile actually hit the parking lot outside the hospital, with none of the nearby buildings sustaining significant structural damage? And might it be that it didn’t actually kill “500” people, as the initial Hamas-distributed propaganda claimed, and which CNN and The New York Times and the rest of the Leftmedia platforms and certain Democrat members of Congress dutifully gobbled up and disseminated? That certainly seems to be the case.
To recap: It wasn’t an airstrike, it didn’t hit a hospital, it didn’t kill hundreds, and Israel didn’t do it. But other than that, the reporting was accurate. In any case, the fault lies not with Israel but with the launchers of the rocket. Unless you’re a Democrat member of Congress.
“Bombing a hospital is among the gravest of war crimes,” posted Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, the legislative body’s foremost Jew hater. “The IDF reportedly blowing up one of the few places the injured and wounded can seek medical treatment and shelter during a war is horrific.”
Not to be outdone, Omar’s fellow Squadster, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-Hamas), posted the following lie: “Israel just bombed the Baptist Hospital killing 500 Palestinians (doctors, children, patients) just like that. @POTUS this is what happens when you refuse to facilitate a ceasefire & help de-escalate. Your war and destruction only approach has opened my eyes and many Palestinian Americans and Muslims Americans like me. We will remember where you stood.”
This IDF press conference gives a detailed account of how things actually transpired. At some point, it seems that Omar and Tlaib will have to walk back their libelous statements, but we aren’t holding our breath. In any case, decent Democrats should be tripping over themselves, fighting for access to cameras and microphones in order to denounce the vile behavior of their colleagues from the cancerous Hamas Wing within their party.
But we’ll say this about Hamas and their fellow-traveling Squad members: At least they’re honest about their hatred of Israel — which is more than we can say for the mainstream media.
The photographs of damage being distributed by the IDF are easily and readily verifiable by numerous sources operating satellites over the region. In short, the mainstream media got played, got punked, by the enemies of Israel.
As for President Joe Biden, he’s trying to conduct some shuttle diplomacy, but the rest of the world isn’t cooperating. As Reuters reports: “Jordan has cancelled a summit it was to host in Amman on Wednesday with U.S. President Joe Biden and the Egyptian and Palestinian leaders to discuss Gaza, Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said. Safadi said the meeting would be held at a time when the parties could agree to end the ‘war and the massacres against Palestinians,’ blaming Israel with its military campaign for pushing the region to ‘the brink of the abyss.’”
What an embarrassment. It’s yet another blow to American prestige, yet another example of how the world no longer takes our nation’s president seriously. But can we blame them? One look at Joe Biden as he shuffles across the tarmac, one listen to his weakened voice as he tries to show solidarity with PM Netanyahu, is enough to strike deep doubt into even our staunchest allies. Wasn’t he supposed to be that “steady hand” in international affairs? Wasn’t he the guy with all that foreign policy experience?
Speaking of embarrassment, Biden wasn’t done. “I was outraged by the bombing of the hospital yesterday,” Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this morning. “Based on what I’ve seen, it was done by the other team. Not you. But there’s a lot of people out there who are not sure.”
A lot of people aren’t sure, eh? And why might that be? Might it be because of the Blame Israel Firsters in the mainstream media?
But while the Fourth Estate plays checkers, Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, and Israel continue to play high-stakes chess, and the likelihood that this war will spill out into a wider conflagration grows ever greater. And China — let’s not forget about China and its ailing economy and its designs on “reunification” with Taiwan — watches and waits and plans.
We take no joy in saying it, but this president continues to be overtaken by events. As our Mark Alexander sardonically quipped, “Joe Biden is no Jimmy Carter.”
